Our stay here was fantastic! One needs to embrace the boutique hotel experience to appreciate the Margarita European Inn so if you are looking for a hotel chain experience there is a Hilton down the street but I will be staying here again. The staff is top notch, everyone was super friendly and helpful, the structure is historic and the location is very convenient to the train and local eating establishments. Rooms were clean and the bathroom was large and updated. Rooftop deck was unique and a great place to enjoy a glass of wine or beer and try to figure out what constellations we are looking at. The breakfast in the morning in the parlor far exceeded my expectations and my family loved the pastries. Thank you Michael, Kathryn and your staff for a great stay!

So glad we found this hotel! The staff is amazing as was the Continental breakfast. Kathryn quickly and easily fixed a problem with our reservation (that was not the hotels fault), she was our hero for this trip. The rooms are large, bright and airy. Beds were comfortable and our grandson loved the bunkbeds in our room. We also loved the library, where we spent a rainy morning playing games with our grandson. The whole hotel is like taking a walk back in history (with all the modern conveniences.). Tastefully decorated, and very comfortable. Good for families in Canton or business travelers. Oh, and the $10 parking is the best deal to be found in all of Chicago. We will definitely be back on our next trip to visit our daughter and grandson!

I honestly loved my brief stay here at this gorgeous landmark hotel and I will definitely wish to return. My room was incredibly romantic and reminded me of the French Quarter because of the ornate gold bedspread, elaborate carpeting and vintage furniture. Everything about this hotel is charming which includes a living room lobby, a cozy library filled with books and couches and a vintage elevator dating from the roaring 1920's. The front desk reception staff was very welcoming and anxious to please their guests. People who helped me enjoy my stay were Kent who checked me in, Kenisha who conversed with me later in the evening and lovely Taiyom. Between 7am till 10 am a home made European style continental breakfast is served for all guests in the living room. This is a perfect opportunity to meet the other guests and enjoy some sumptuous croissants and pastries made on premises by their skilled and friendly French pastry chef. I took a few videos of this historical landmark and I'm definitely looking forward to future stays. I love unique boutique style hotels because you feel like you're entering a time portal back in time to a more decadent era. I also wish to add my room was pristine, fresh smelling, cosmetically beautiful and my bed was very comfortable. I had a hard time leaving the beauty of this hotel so if you are a lover of beauty and old vintage buildings you should stay here because this is a step above a sterile, traditional hotel experience. I left feeling refreshed and very much cared for.

Visited for an event. Overall, the hotel lends a sense of history to its guests without feeling outdated. The continental breakfast doesn't have much variety, but the pastries are made there and are very good and the room that it is hosted in is filled with fabulous antique furniture.

The rooms are clean and have antique accents while maintaining modern amenities. I would recommend staying here.

This is a really nice place with genuine European charm. There's minimal parking. The breakfast is simple and delicious. The elevator has a sliding grate and push door. The beds and rooms are comfortable. The staff is totally attentive. It's a fantastic place to stay when you want to be close to Evanston and Northwestern.

I was there for a professional networking event and it was lovely. The staff was professional, the catering staff was superb and the owner took time to (with his managers) introduc themselves and assure everything was going well. He even escorted some of us through the historic hotel to see the top deck, rooms and provide insight. I had a great time in a beautiful hotel.

Wonderful old Victorian style hotel completely updated with WI-FI lots of plugs to access as well as USB by the bed. Lots of space in the room. AC worked well and was fairly quiet. Loved the old elevator with the original wooden door and cage. There is a deck up top with nice patio furniture and a nice ballroom on the ground floor which looks like an excellent venue for weddings, parties, etc. The breakfast could have had more than just breads/grains but the quality was good as was the coffee.

The last time I enjoyed my stay in a hotel this much, I was in Wiesbaden, Germany. What a lovely place! The staff was friendly and welcoming, the food excellent, the beds comfortable. It is within easy walking distance of several unique (not chain) restaurants. There is a YMCA right around the corner. It was a wonderful experience, and we will be sure to stay here again.

We were in need of a place to stay when our baby was transferred to the Evanston NICU. We found the Margarita European inn due to it's proximity to the hospital and booked right away. The entire staff was incredibly accommodating and kind which is what we needed during a very tough time. The breakfast was better then continental (as advertised) and our room was great. It was nice to feel away and unplugged at a quiet, quaint hotel. We will be forever grateful to the entire team who made us feel at home for nearly three weeks!

Very cozy, very comfy, historic building. The room was very nice with updated (yet era appropriate) bathroom. Staff was extremely courteous. Parking was a snap. Suggest booking them over the phone instead of using Agoda (their on line agent). There was confusion on payments, which ended up working out.

Very charming hotel in a perfect downtown location just minutes from Northwestern. Rooms are on the small side but clean and comfortable. A lot of history in the building and a great library/study area on the first floor landing.

Wonderful hotel. Neat comfortable rooms. Nice bathroom. The lobby parlor is delightful and the breakfast served there is stellar. Amazing Greek yogurt, fresh croissants and pastries can't be beat.

I thought the price was very reasonable for such a beautiful place. It's a short, easy walk to the L train to go into the city, which isn't too long of a commute. The breakfast was delicious and the staff were friendly and helpful. The old, historic feel was definitely a bonus. I will probably stay here again.

Elegant and historic, the Margarita European Inn made our stay in Chicago a memorable one. They have the best continental breakfast I've ever had, probably due to their French chef's expertise. The staff are lovely people.

Charming. Delightful. Blissful. Romantic. Quaint. Traditional. Amazing experience. Loved it. Will always try to stay here going forward when I visit the Chicago area. The morning breakfast was simple and elegant. Ladies with taste will love this place.

The Hotel and its rooms/ bathrooms are beautiful and spacious. The price was competitive. The staff was friendly and helpful. The only issues I had (if you can even call them "issues") were no mini fridge, and continental breakfreast was not on my diet lol (all carbs-- English muffins, toast, pastries).

Very charming! Definitely has a old European feel to it. No restaurant/bar in the hotel but there is a lot with in walking distance. Though they do bring I'm breakfast every morning, which is no extra charge.
