Hunan Market

Great place to have Taiwanese food! I had a Taiwanese beef noodle soup today. It was so delicious! The beef stew was cooked right on points not too tough, not too soft, some texture to chew on, with heavy tasteful soup, yet no MSG, very little salt. The noodles were tasted delicious too, I felt the beef, noodles and the soups were all natural, as I had not leftover in my mouth, not the same as I had those in regular Chinese restaurants. I believe it was the best beef noodle soup I have ever had for the last 5 years, since I had one in Hong Kong. It is highly recommended.
They also have hand-made dumplings too, but I didn't have big stomach to try on this time, save it for next time, hope they are as great as the noodle soup.

Hunan market is in my neighborhood. I am lucky to be able to shop there. Neat and clean store. I want to give it’s Chef, 5 stars for all the yummy food that he prepares for the frozen food. Amazing variety of vegetarian options in wontons/ dumplings. Julie is the best to exploratory their products.

My experience at the Hunan Market was unexpectedly delightful. I visited the shop as a way of exploring different Asian markets and grocery stores around where I live. Hunan Market was by far the best I've visited so far.

Immediately upon entering the store, I was greeted with a warm, friendly smile by the owner, Julia. She was wrapping up with another customer, but asked me whether I'd ever visited the store before. After telling her I hadn't, she offered to give me a tour and answer any questions I might have.

She walked me around and told me about all the different in-house products they sell, such as dumplings, pork bao, and so much more. Julia asked me many questions about my own tastes and preferences, making sure to tailor fit her recommendations to what it sounded like I enjoyed eating and cooking.

I ended up purchasing a bunch of homemade dumplings with various fillings, which turned out to be delicious. Julia even gave me a great tip on how to boil them straight from the freezer. I tried that once and pan seared them the next time I pulled them out of my freezer. My family loved the dumplings and so did I! My favorites were definitely the beef & onion and kimchi flavors.

It's so rare to enter a store nowadays and be welcomed with such warmth and kindness. Obviously Julia wanted me to have a good experience and make several purchases (which I did), but she was genuinely kind and a pleasure to speak with. I wish more business owners and employees put in this type of care and attention to make sure the people walking into their store were helped and taken care of.

After talking about food and the different meals we both enjoy, I showed her some photos on my phone of different meals I've cooked in the past and she was very impressed, which made me proud.

In the spirit of honesty, my visit was several months ago from the time I'm writing this now, but I do plan on going back before too long. Those dumplings were wonderful and I'd love to help support such a kind, welcoming small business serving up great cooking products, kitchen advice, and delicious homemade food at an affordable price.

Visiting Hunan Market was a delight, enhanced by the incredible customer service. Julie, who showed me around, was especially friendly and knowledgeable. She recommended fresh noodles that have forever changed my view on ramen—once you try these, there's no going back to the cheap packaged stuff.

The store offers a wide range of Taiwanese options, all of which were exceptional. Julie's other recommendations, like the green curry and coconut milk, were also top-notch brands that elevated my home-cooked meals.

First time went to this store Julia is very helpful introduced us about products and how to perfectly cook dumplings even the ingredients 😀.She is very nice . Dumplings really good we got the beef and onion really good the flavor is spot on very juicy. Highly recommended. Will definitely go back again!!

Stopped by to get more authentic ingredients to elevate my Chinese cooking. Was not only helped and shown the ingredients, but was made to feel so welcome and given a tour. Will definitely be back - especially for the homemade dumplings!

The best Taiwanese grocery in the suburbs! They have a number of items that are hard to find in other grocery stores near me. The owner Julie is incredibly friendly and is always willing to point out new items and help with any questions customers may have. They offer a number of frozen, homemade items such as dumplings, bao, soup, etc. that are delicious!

Everyone should come here! I went in for the first time and loved it. The story is really nice and Julia is super sweet and friendly! I love the dumplings and I tried the cocoa pop adley, and it was an amazing snack. Will be coming back a lot in the future!

I love the way Julia bops around the store helping every customer with so much enthusiasm and personality unmatched. She finds out what you have a taste for and guides you in the right direction. Her Dumplings are superb and made right there in the store. I will go there just because of how she personalizes my visit!

Great place for homemade dumplings, shumai, soup dumplings and more. Julia (owner) will walk you through the store and explain how to cook everything and makes excellent suggestions on what else to try. Highly recommend a visit.

Pork and Napa cabbage dumplings were sooo good. Best frozen dumplings you can get I promise you will not find better. Plenty of other options too and the workers there are so nice.

Great selection of items from Taiwan. Julia is incredibly friendly and helpful. I highly recommend the chef's home made specials in the back freezer. The dumplings (gyoza), shumai and Phoenix crown dumplings are all excellent!

Great place for homemade dumplings and soup dumplings! Julia who is the owner has excellent hospitality and makes you feel welcomed and explains and shows you other food options you would like. And they even have frozen dumplings so you can make at home, and she will even tell you how to cook them!

I visited Hunan Market, and it was the reason that brought me to Westmont. The staff is incredibly friendly, and I thoroughly enjoyed their exceptional customer service. The authentic gourmet Taiwanese food was incredibly delicious and flavorful. I had a fantastic dining experience and would highly recommend this place to others.

I’ve had dumplings all over the country from Chinatown Chicago to San Francisco and LA and I got to say this place has some of the best homemade soup dumplings bao I’ve ever had

Nestled in a small strip mall in Westmont you can find some great douse made dumplings made with chicken, lamb, shrimp, pork and many other combinations. You'll also find many goods from Taiwan that are not availiable in other stores. You might need some translation, but the staff is super helpful and happy to make reccomendations. Try the Kikki noodles, they are awesome!
You'll also find some Ali Shan tea in a red box that is truly delightful!

This place is a hidden gem.They have the most authentic soup dumplings ,pot stickers and bao buns.

We love this market! The staff was so helpful & friendly. The house-made specialties shouldn't be missed.
