Tio Luis Tacos

Enjoyed our lunch at this friendly Mexican restaurant. Interesting, tasty authentic choices. Great homemade chips and a smoky salsa. When I asked about the assortment of drinks, Jose brought a taste of each. I chose Horchata (rice water) and my husband chose Michelada (?) (sort of a red eye with a spicy/ salty rim)...both good. Our shrimp dishes (empanadas and quesadilla) were delicious and huge.
The atmosphere was also special...fresh paint, polished floor and newly renewed clean bathroom. Highchair available. Very affordable and off street parking in the back.

Chicago’s Best Carne en su Jugo. A must try!!! Been to many places… but no one like Tio Luis’s Carne en su Jugo. It’s the tasty azada, and beans, everything from the bacon and radishes. You must try it!!! And ask for tortillas hechas a mano.

Great tasting Mexican. We filled up on the chips/salsa and queso fundido but enjoyed some of our entree. Not disappointed to take the rest home to enjoy later :). I have to spinach enchiladas and my husband had one of the steak dishes. All so flavorful. Definitely ask for the variety of salsas they have. They provide a cucumber infused water which is ok. Anyways enjoy! 😎

Great restaurant for Mexican food. The chicken flautas were great and service was excellent. I would recommend this establishment to anyone.

Tio Luis has a great family friendly atmosphere with fresh food and great service. Portion sizes are almost too much! Pulpo Gusto, Quesadilla, Margaritas and Micheladas were what my partner and I had. I highly recommend checking this place out! Oh and then you can go plant shopping at Raquel's right next door! They even made me fresh decaf :)

The food is incredible. The service is amazing. Highly recommend. I am from out of town so do not get to go there as often as I would like. But have family in the area, and what a great surprise when their food was catered to a family get together. And the catering was amazing as well.

We came in on Cinco de mayo, the food was amazing and the service was exceptional! Our waiter (Samuel?)was one of the best I've ever had! We'll be back!

My husband had Pozole I had breakfast with cafe de hoya. Breakfast is serve up to 1pm I believe that is what the menu says. Menu has a great variety, definitely has so many beverages to choose from and cocktails drinks including micheladas. Service is great and toughtful! Very clean, the restroom too. There is a diaper change in ladies room. It is a medium size restaurant located in a common main street. Family atmosphere and very pleasant!

This is a gem in the south side that I highly recommend! Their tacos and their super quesadilla de camarones are my favorite things to order! Additionally, the salsa and chips they provide for the table (for free) are alone one of the biggest reasons to return. The flavors are so on point! The people are really sweet too. I am a regular here and I hope you become one too!

Food is absolutely delicious. Our waitress was kind, patient, and made great food reviews. I had the chicken and steak fajitas. My fiancé had the burrito. We will definitely be back. Love exploring different restaurants throughout Chicago for date night. Highly recommend, five stars!

I have come here for many years and I truly enjoy every dish I’ve ordered. From the Mexican burger, pozole, carne en su jugo,tacos, and platillos de carne to their alcoholic beverages to their aguas frescas and milkshakes (liquados).
Service can be a bit better on certain days, but overall i really like it here. A little pricey as well, but every restaurant has had a spike on prices since the pandemic. Not too economical. Be ready to spend anywhere between $40-70 for table of 3-4

I was very happy that even though I arrived here at 10:30pm (closeing at 11pm) that I still was served hot n fresh food. I have experienced some fast food places that were about to close serve me hard chicken, sloppy burgers, cold fries hard biscuits etc. But not here. We were greeted and served as if they were just opening. Food was delicious, chips and salsa was good. We were were vwey happy.

Bravo!! I dined in today and was pleasantly surprised by everything. Great atmosphere, very friendly and helpful staff, and the food (chicken tacos) was delicious and amazing! The portion sizes were very generous, too. Overall I highly recommend this place and it made my trip to Chicago today very enjoyable. 😊🙏🏼

While getting some car repairs done we need to get something to eat to pass the time while we wait.

This place was the perfect restaurant to try in the area. The interior was clean and very colorful. The chairs were very comfy as well. Our server was attentive always making sure we were ok.

I order the super steak quesadilla and my gf the burrito. Both meals were plentiful and very delicious. I'll definitely order again.

This authentic Mexican restaurant - and I do mean authentic - is my go-to spot in the Chicagoland area for seasonings, marinades, and deelish tastes I really can’t find anywhere else in the city (or at home). I’ve been coming to this establishment for a few years and have yet to be disappointed. Venture out of your comfort zone and try something different from the menu and find yourself coming back for more of the same or adding to the goodies there. Enjoy!

Started going here not too long ago. Food is good and good portions, prices are great and people are very friendly.

The drinks are delicious ! Had a lime margarita and a mango martini. Great atmosphere and friendly service.

Great staff. I love how they have pickled vegetables on the table. The restaurant offers complimentary chips and salsa. The food is amazing. Large quantity, good quality, affordable pricing. The restaurant is clean. I love ordering their soups; perfect when the weather is cold or when you're sick/hungover. Tacos and breakfast entrees are delicious.
