2nd year staying at Seanook. Can’t wait for the 3rd next yr. The accommodations And view insist that you relax. The Eagles nest across the water makes for continual sightings. Mary Ellen is the perfect host - totally available yet never intrusive. I hope it will be our annual pilgrimage for years to come.

Paradise Cottage is a perfect name for this perfect cottage! Sitting on the deck with a glass of wine while watching lobster boats, and an occasional sail boat, pass, is a little bit of heaven. The cottage is lovely inside and out with it’s floor to ceiling windows facing the water and “stroll thru the forest” while walking down the hall. And never a worry about what to bring, with the well thought through kitchen - dishes, pots and pans, bowls, baking accessories, and a new gas grill on the deck. We're always sad to leave, but begin our planning and cannot wait to return every year.

Paradise Cottage is so charming! We enjoyed an early morning walk along the private road and sat along the shore near the dock and watched the ducks. What a peaceful place to unwind and sip our coffee! Mary Ellen is a delightful host!

My husband and I recently spent a week at the aptly named Paradise Cottage. We were welcomed by Mary Ellen who was very attentive when needed, and otherwise gave us our privacy. Paradise Cottage is tucked away on the side of a hill, surrounded on three sides by the Maine woods. The downward sloping front yard is not a yard, but a garden of earthly delights, boasting an incredible variety of shrubs, trees, flowers, vines, ground cover, etc., crisscrossed with stone paths. It is truly a work of beauty, (lovingly designed and maintained by Mary Ellen). The cottage itself is cozy, comfy and uniquely decorated. All of the rooms are on the front of the house; each with it's own wall of windows and screen door. From each of these rooms, and from the large deck, is a fabulous view of Linekin Bay, just across the street. I could have sat on the deck all day watching the water, and then witnessing the amazing sunsets!! This is truly a special place, and we plan to return soon. Thank you Ron and Mary Ellen!

We stayed at Seanook for a week in late August/early September. It was just what we needed to calm our frayed nerves from months of hibernation. We could feel the stress melt away from the moment we sat on the porch overlooking the water that first evening, An added bonus was a gorgeous sunset from that spot - actually over several evenings. Coffee in the sunroom each morning was a charming way to start the day as we watched the fishing boats depart.
The kitchen is well equipped to handle meals cooked there or take in. I enjoyed meals from the grill that I didn't have to prepare😋
We enjoyed our chats with Ron and Mary Ellen as we learned of good hikes and sightseeing spots and the best places to get "lobstah." Truly a delightful stay. We look forward to a repeat visit.

My husband and I spent two incredibly relaxing weeks in August enjoying Paradise Cottage. The beauty of the surroundings - including Mary Ellen’s amazing gardens - was equaled only by the comfort and convenience of the cottage itself. We ate our meals at home most days and there wasn’t a single kitchen item wanting. The beds were comfy, the house immaculately clean, and my grandson spent as much time as he was allowed in the hot tub! I preferred the kayaks and spent many enjoyable and peaceful hours paddling around the Bay. Paradise Cottage is truly a little slice of heaven!

Seanook is the closest place to heaven that my husband and I have ever experienced. We have rented this beautiful cottage for the past three years and have made plans to stay there again next spring. The views from every room are glorious. No matter what the weather you can relax and enjoy nature at its finest. From the various ducks to the ospreys it is a total delight. The kitchen is well equipped with all that you need to prepare a meal and if you prefer to eat out there are many options close by. Mary Ellen and Ron are such gracious hosts. Thanks to them for sharing their wonderful home with those of us who love Maine.

We stayed in Paradise Cottage for the entire month of October! The location is dreamy, you are very connected to nature, with the expanse of floor to ceiling windows in every room (and the hallway) bringing in light and views. We had everything we needed to cook in( which we did a lot) and relax in the Linekin Bay facing living room, a perfect spot for working on jigsaw puzzles, reading or just taking in the view. Our dog and I loved our walks here! Daily we walked to the General store and down beautiful Murray Hill Road.... I miss it already!!
Ron and Mary Ellen are gracious, helpful ( Ron taught me how to build the perfect fire in the wood stove) and kind. We enjoyed getting to know them while we were there.
We experienced a true Nor’easter while we were there, yet thanks to the generator never went without power.
We Highly recommend Paradise Cottage! Our long stay truly gave us the rest and enjoyment we wanted-when vacationing in Maine. Looking forward to returning this winter!

Seanook is an absolutely wonderful place to stay! The location is beautiful with 270 degrees of the Maine coast right from the living room. Ron and Mary Ellen have done a fantastic job of updating Seanook but at the same time leaving intact the character of a quaint coastal Maine cottage. During our visit, my husband, 7 year old son, and I went to the Botanical Gardens, aquarium, Ocean Point, and Squirrel Island. We also went rock hopping and kayaking. It was a relaxing, active vacation (if there is such a thing). We look forward to coming back again in the future!

We just returned from a week at Paradise Cottage and enjoyed a relaxing and peaceful stay. We were able to take advantage of a last minute availability, which was very fortunate for us. The cottage features floor to ceiling windows providing gorgeous views from all directions. The king bed was extremely comfortable and being able to sleep with the outside bedroom door open made for peaceful sleeping.

I cannot say enough good things about the cottage location and surrounding grounds. Mary Ellen's gardens are amazing! They rival the Midcoast Botanical Gardens for variety and blooms. Sitting outside provided beauty and sensational scents. Paradise Cove Rd. has very little traffic, so the cottage has little ambient noise.

Despite many restaurants experiencing employee shortages, we managed to have some delicious meals throughout our stay. Our favorite place was Ocean Point Inn. Location, location, location! Request a window seat when you make your reservation. One night we had the filet mignon and a seafood special, another night soup and salads. The Newagen Inn was amazing, as well. Another thoroughly enjoyable evening was spent at Cook's Landing in Edgecomb. Phenomenal pizza, beer and live music made for a delightful, cheap Saturday night out. Ron's recommendation to try Pinkham's Gourmet Market gave us an ideal location to pickup lunch. We grabbed freshly made sandwiches which we took to Barrett Park. A lovely location with picnic tables sprinkled throughout the park. A trip to Boothbay is not complete without a lunch from Bet's Fish Fry. Huge portions- haddock and cash only. We've been fans of the EBB General Store for over 30 years and have a Jan Kilburn (Damariscotta artist) print of it in our home. I stopped in around 2 pm to find they were sold out of there Cuban and Pulled Pork. We did have yummy wraps instead.

Our goal for this trip was total relaxation and we sure succeeded. We took advantage of the cottage kitchen for breakfast before heading out for local outdoor experiences. A must visit is the Pemaquid Point Lighthouse (LOVE) for the rocky coast, a view from the lighthouse and the art gallery. Ocean Point is incredible for the walk along the point , amazing sunsets or letting the kids or dog swim at the beach. There's no better place to enjoy sitting on the rocks in the sun, searching for shells or sea glass, watching boats sail by and listening to the surf. The MidCoast Botanical Garden was pretty and easy to spend several hours taking photographs. Loved the dahlias, trolls and senses garden. Mary Ellen's garden was as delightful for photography, and she has inviting benches!! Strolled the shops of Boothbay Harbor and fell in love with Mung Bean, which features all made in America products and many made in Maine. It's not a restaurant like I thought for many years. We always stop in Sherman's Book Store for a pile of books by Maine authors. These books were enjoyed in the afternoons, as the cottage is the perfect location for kicking back and reading. Never once did I turn on my computer! There is wi-fi, my silly husband was checking emails.

A couple of other positives about the cottage....# 1 - Mary Ellen and Ron are superb hosts! # 2 - There's a generator which keeps everything functioning in the event of a blackout. It kicked on in the middle of the night during a heavy rainstorm. # 3 - A washing machine and dryer on site. I loved being able to toss in our laundry and come home with clean clothes. # 4 - Paradise Cottage has everything you need to stay for a week and never leave! If you prefer a vacation where you never leave the property, you can do so at Paradise Cottage.

This summer my husband and I went for a peaceful vacation at Paradise Cottage. The experience was breathtaking. Everywhere you looked there were unique details that fully immersed us in the Maine way of life. The large floor to ceiling windows invite you to view the nature that you are so close to. The cottage provided a private comfortable setting to enjoy the scenic views and yet you feel like you are outside. The cottage provides everything you need. Throughout the property are a variety of beautiful plants and flowers. Everything is so organized and clean. We really enjoyed our stay and will be coming back.

Seanook is one of the most amazing places we have ever stayed. It is literally ON the water, has everything you could ever need for your stay (kitchen supplies, puzzles, games, kayaks, even some staples in the pantry). They also have a very good COVID cancellation policy, so fear not on that end. We did plan this trip last minute and squeezed in 3 amazing nights here, Mary Ellen was super responsive on the booking and communication end which was sooo helpful...I really thought the summer might pass without a family vacation. My children had 3 hard asks...a place on the water and rocks with rocks as a requirement because that is quintessential Maine! at least as much as possible....balconies and good outdoor space for morning coffee and paper....and natural light...of course Seanook was more than we ever could have imagined and fit the bill perfectly and then some. Boothbay Bay Harbor is not far and lovely, with some great dining options. We particularly loved the vegetarian options at The Boathouse Bistro. Mary Ellen also provided walking directions to the Harbor, over the hills and through the woods literally, - it's several miles but a super fun way to spend an afternoon. We biked and walked, but did have to carry our bikes through much of the wooded/trails portion. We read, did puzzles, played games, and ate great food...for us the perfect way to get away. The sun and cool breeze greeted us each morning through the open windows and doors...this place is really beyond any other place you will ever stay (it actually reminded a bit of a Hawaii stay from 20+ years ago). Thank you Mary Ellen for helping our family enjoy a spectacular time away, despite the upside down world we are in right now!

We had a lovely stay at Seanook for four days in October. Since we own a home that sits practically on the water in Northern Vermont we were hard pressed to find a place equal the views from our own home. Seanook exceeded all expectations. The views of the water from three sides were tremendous, the sunsets spectacular and the opportunities for interesting hikes and walks without ever getting in our car were just what we needed for our getaway. The cottage is beautifully decorated with lots of creative touches that reflect the period and locale. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook elaborate meals. We also loved the wood burning stove in the living room.

The highlight was possibly a kayak ride/walk into downtown Boothbay Harbor, that began with kayaking across the bay and then walking along the shoreline, on quaint streets, public easements behind properties and a hiking through woods, along an earthen dam beside lovely pond, through a lovely waterside park and across Boothbay's historic footbridge before finally landing in Boothbay. Maryann's detailed walking directions were indispensable! We are incredibly grateful for that beautiful walking tour, the lovely stay and pleasant conversations with Ron and Maryann! Hope to return again to Paradise sometime soon!

We just returned from a 4 night stay at Paradise Cottage. Mary Ellen and Ron were very helpful and friendly, right from the beginning when we first contacted them about renting the house, up to and including when we arrived and got settled in. The were always available if we had any questions, but were not at all intrusive. The house is very cozy and looked exactly like the photos on-line. It was extremely clean, the beds were very comfortable, and it had every we needed. Ron gave us a great introduction to the area and had many suggestions as to what we could do and where we could eat during our stay. We love exploring coastal Maine, and this was a great place to use as our home base. There was plenty of room and privacy for the 4 adults in our party. We highly recommend Paradise Cottage.

Just the place to clear your mind. Stayed at Paradise Cottage 8yrs ago with my young children. Never forgot it and wanted to go back but Cottage was booked but Seanook had some availability. Called some friends and we booked our group of 6. Can't say enough about the home owners Mary Ellen and Ron, for me they are part of why I go there. The house has such charm and the scenery is breath taking. So many long and short walks near by and of course the Botanical gardens. Don't hesitate to book because you will not regret your choice. Rarely do I go somewhere where honestly it is a place to let yourself stop thinking. Rose

This past September my husband and I enjoyed a bit over 2 weeks at this lovely place. Mary Ellen and Ron have created a special hideaway that brings the sea right into the cottage. When we walked in the door that first afternoon, I knew immediately that we were going to be very very content here.. Large windows on just about every wall with comfortable spots inside and out to sit and absorb the beauty and character of Linekin Bay. Seanook is located on a quiet road that runs RIGHT along the coast.
I could write about the many wonderful attributes of this cottage but I suggest you look at the photos, read what others have written, know that this corner of heaven was created and continues to be loved and cared for by two people who graciously give of themselves to make Seanook Cottage perfect. We made reservations for the next two years...You will never be sorry for spending time here....If you're able to get a reservation!

We had a wonderful time staying at the Paradise Cottage. The cottage was very clean and lovely. We had everything we needed for a relaxing and enjoyable vacation. The gardens were gorgeous and Mary Ellen and Ron were very helpful in giving us advice on great restaurants and beautiful hikes in the area. Mary Ellen was very kind to give me some of her wonderful gardens plants before our departure...so sweet of her. We look forward to a return visit.

Three adults and two small dogs spent two wonderful weeks this July 2016 at Paradise Cottage. It is truly a paradise! We loved the quiet street, the closeness to the water and to Boothbay Harbor, and the very comfortable cottage that was just right for us! It had all the amenities that we needed. The owners, Mary Ellen and Ron, are so friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed the two of them. Mary Ellen is a talented artist and gardener and has her studio right next door. Ron is a super "man of all trades." The two of them can recommend and help with anything you may desire. Our only problem was that we didn't stay long enough! Next time, we'll try for a month! We would recommend this cottage without reservation.

Stayed in Paradise Cottage in August 2018.
Love. I wish I could live right here, right in this cottage.
Two bathrooms, small but fully functional kitchen, gas grill on the deck, hot tub. It checks all my boxes.
Great location away from the busy tourist town but close enough that you can easily get to the shops and fishing charters and restaurants.
If you love Maine but don't want to rough it, this is perfect.
My favorite was just sitting on the deck reading, enjoying the wonderful breeze, the fantastic views and the occasional visits from chipmunks and humming birds...and breathing deeply.
This is a tidal cove so you don't get waves and surf. You get water lapping against the rocky coast.
Oh! and the gardens..wow.
I hope I can get back to enjoy it in the winter.

A very welcomed time of renewal and nurturing of our souls this November as we spent several days at Seanook. The home was spotless with very creative touches throughout to include a sense of bringing nature inside with many different plants.
The ebb and flow of the bay was mesmerizing ; it was easy to get lost in ones thoughts sitting on one of the many porches or the sunroom sipping a cup of morning coffee.
Beautiful hikes are so accessible; each day we explored several of the nearby preserves.
A very special place indeed!
