Tugboat Inn

We loved our stay in Boothbay Harbor. Our room at the Tugboat Inn was perfect-- in our budget, clean, and a beautiful location to spend a night. We stayed in room 108. Our mini fridge was very loud so we had to unplug it for the night, and the noise from other rooms was a little loud when we were putting our young kid to bed, but other than that we even liked the early alarm clock of the lobster boats firing up and heading out for a day of fishing. The restaurant was great and we can't wait to make this an annual trip for our family!

Husband and I took our 5th wheel and drove out to Boothbay, Maine in Sept, out East is so lovely. That was the month of the hurricane and by the time it reached land it was downsized to a tropical storm. People who live here take those things in stride. We dined at the Tugboat Inn, associated with a Hotel with the Ocean view, also have roof top dining and cocktails for the better view of the ocean. Big parking lot, parking on road in front of the restaurant as well. Older place with that East Coast flair and decor, very quaint. Got seated immediately by a cheerful host, he gave us a great table with a view, how nice. Our waiter was cheerful and told us the special’s. It was plenty busy that night, dinner hour. Waited a short time and out came our dinners, OMG, I ordered the Seafood Casserole in a puff pastry with fresh squash and rice pilaf, it was divine and was full of shrimp, scallops, Lobster meat and delicious sauce. I did not come up for air, one of the best selections I have ever made, I ate that whole thing, and I was stuffed, so worth the price for what I got. Hub had Seafood Medley and it was a large dish of nothing but shrimp, scallops, Lobster meat and flounder in a wine sauce, like me he finished the whole thing without an ounce of guilt. We highly enjoyed our dining experience, our waiter took great care of us. We we’re stuffed and passed on the dessert’s made by one of the employees, think, Blueberry pie, Peanut Butter pie, Cheesecake. Both our dinners were in the low 30.00 range but comparable to the other places we dined at. Highly recommend this restaurant, before we left to go home we returned here and it was just as good, no let’s change that to outstanding! Dine here, don’t miss out. Debbie, Mich

Staff were very friendly! Room was clean and comfortable. Shower water gets nice and warm which is great during the colder months! We plan on coming back again! Not to mention the food at the resturant was great!!!

I must admit I was not expecting much when I booked a room at the tug boat inn. It looked dated but we were only staying one night. Well I am glad to say I could not have been more wrong. While the rooms are a little small they are very well kept and very clean. Kudos to the entire staff. From the friendliness at check to the lady prepping the rooms everything was great and very comfortable. The beds and pillows are very soft. Everything you need for a great stay including a small fridge and Keurig (with Pods). Right in the middle of this beautiful town. Now I wish we could stay a few more days.

As everyone said, the location is incredible! Right downtown, with beautiful views from the rooms.

We were able to bring our two dogs!! The staff made them feel very welcome and it was easy to walk them from our room. We think they loved their stay here too!

I was a little worried about cleanliness from reviews but we felt totally comfortable, and it was overall quite clean, just a bit dated!

We (and the pups) will absolutely be back again!!

The location of the Tugboat is fabulous. Easy walk to everything in Booth Bay Harbor. Check in was easy and Windy (her real name) at the registration desk gave great suggestions for dinner in the area. The rooms are large, clean and comfortable but not modernized. There is no daily in room service so your making your own bed, however new towels,coffee and whatever else you may need is available at the office. We definitely would stay here again. We had a great time in Booth Bay Harbor!!

My husband and I stayed 3 nights for a mini-vacation and loved our stay here. It is in a fabulous location. Our room was large, clean, well appointed and had great views and a semi-private balcony was we especially liked.

We stayed in room 413 and really enjoyed being able to wake in the morning to the sight and sounds of the harbor. The atmosphere was quiet, inviting and relaxing.
There was not housekeeping service, which is fine with us since we don't like anyone in our room when we stay anywhere. However, when we were in need of anything it was supplied promptly and with a smile. There was one fine young housekeeper that I asked for toilet paper and he immediately went and got it and was so polite.
We will definitely recommend Tugboat Inn to anyone going to Boothbay Harbor and we will be back.

Great local restaurant in Boothbay, away from all the others. We ended up eating on the rooftop bar and took advantage of the nice day. Service was great and the food awesome. The steamers were right from the water and tasted as fresh as you can imagine.

What a lovely experience all around. We spent 3 nights in town at the Tugboat Inn, the service at the front desk was very friendly upon arrival. The service and atmosphere at the restaurant was amazing. Food was delicious and staff was so pleasant. The location is perfect, we parked our car for the weekend and we were able to walk literally everywhere. The rooms were a bit outdated but they were clean and fitting as the whole vibe of the town is quaint and old. Would definitely stay again!

Had a great 2-night stay with my wife on vacation. Incredible views from the 2nd floor and could barely hear the boats moored to the pier when they started up in the morning.

Will definitely return next time we're staying in Boothbay Harbor.

I was very lucky with the room that I chose. I travelled all the way from Michigan and spent most of my trip in Boothbay Harbor. The front desk staff at check-in and check-out were so friendly and so excited when they learned I had recently graduated from college. I love the view from my room and it was very comfortable. I went on a whale and puffin cruise one of my days there, and along with the little shops and restaurants, I could walk to literally everything I wanted to get to. For someone who travels solo, this was a very safe and amazing experience!!

Great location, walking distance to downtown. Clean rooms, beautiful views! Would stay again!

Due to an unexpected failed reservation, we decided to seek out last minute accommodations at the Tugboat Inn. We were able to get a room on the wharf, and the room was delightful. It was very clean, and was easy to get into with a ramp to get in from the road. It was beautiful staying there watching all the boats in the harbor come and go. We had wonderful service from the lady in the office. She was so accommodating, and took the extra effort to show us the room available. It was also great to have the Tugboat restaurant on site. We ate there two nights, and the food was fantastic. We were so pleased with this establishment, and the experience and will certainly return. A big thanks to all!

I had excellent harbor views and wonderful parking with first floor room 311. It was centrally located on the water and I walked all around town. The Tugboat restaurant was next door with a reasonable menu and attentive staff. An employee named WILL was kind and answered by questions about where to go for breakfast. I requested a room with a microwave as they don’t all have them. Breakfast places were directly across the street.

Spent a long ladies weekend here and we all loved it! Room was spacious and clean with super comfortable beds. The view was fantastic. Easy walk to all the sights in Boothbay Harbor. Staff was super helpful. Highly recommend!

The fried food is one of the best in the region. It is always golden in color, tasty and reasonably priced. I’ll soon be ready for more.

Great location in Boothbay Harbor. Our room was on the 3rd floor. View was awesome. Easy 5 minute walk to local restaurants and shopping. Large bathroom, our room equipped with small refrigerator. The balcony had 2 chairs to enjoy the view. Disappointed that nothing was mentioned prior to arrival that you have to check in at their other hotel to get keys. Additionally, we were given paper stating our room would not be cleaned during our stay. Didn't mention this during check in. We could call down for their room amenities as needed. Overall we enjoyed our stay and will stay here again if in the area.

It's right in the heart of everything. The rooms were large, clean and had everything we needed. The staff was kind and helpful when scheduling and the view can't be beat! It's not a 4 star resort, but it's clean and comfortable and has the coastal vibe we were looking for
