We could not have picked a better place for our two night stay in Boothbay Harbor. The facilities have very nice modern updates and a cozy feel, from the room to the kitchen and bar. It was such a relaxing and comfortable place inside and out (where they light a campfire at night by the water!). The staff were also all spectacular and the most friendly. They quickly get to know you and make sure you have anything you need. The food was also spectacular, aside from having a lobster dinner in town, they had the best food of our trip. Wish we had time to stay longer and will be back!

would highly recommend this place to anyone coming to visit the boothbay harbor area! it’s only a few minutes from the activity of BBH, but “off the path” just enough to feel like its own little getaway. rooms were great, common areas were great (and so quaint + charmingly decorated!), amenities were great, food was great, views were great, noise levels were great, and the staff was EXCELLENT. truly so nice and helpful at every turn. the community has an amazing view with safe, quiet paths to walk + enjoy or chairs and a fire pit to kick back, relax, and watch the sunset. i’ve been coming to this area since I was a kid, but it was my first time staying at this inn— and I think I found my new go-to for the area.

added note about the restaurant— it’s really good and fairly priced. would honestly eat every meal + have cocktails here if I didn’t feel like I *had* to get over to some of the staples in BBH. definitely plan to have a meal, some drinks, or a dessert here while you’re staying!

What an AMAZING property! It is a little bit out of town, but the property is so quiet and peaceful, that you'll hardly even care. My room was very clean and comfortable, the staff were great, and the breakfast was top notch. But the best part of all was the VIEW! You won't regret booking a stay with Bluebird Ocean Point Inn. I wish I could have stayed longer.

This is a very cute place. Depending on the location you book here, I think you get different experiences.

Room was clean and up to date. Loved the location, feels remote from the city and peaceful. Right by the water. Service was great, restaurant in the building was high dinning experience. And food was delicious.
Highly recommend! We had an amazing stay!

Easily my favorite stay of a 10 day coastal Maine getaway. The property is STUNNING. There was absolutely nothing going on in the village of Boothbay during our stay so it was insanely peaceful & tranquil. The views are breath taking and The Ocean Point Inn provides a beautiful outdoor space to soak it all up. I couldn't believe my eyes when I looked out of our balcony and saw a fire being built by the water for guests to enjoy at sunset. Just top notch! The room was beautifully, minimally decorated and the bed was so comfortable I could have cried. I am a terrible sleeper, one of those lunatics that brings her own pillow and blanket everywhere. I slept like a teenager. The women at the desk were kind, welcoming and more than helpful. I loved this place so much and can't wait to be back!

Location, location, location! Overall a win - staff is great, we liked our room (recommend the stand-alone Glimpse cottage for a couple - very small but quiet), beds were super comfy and the view is spectacular. We spent an afternoon reading on the chairs overlooking the water. Very peaceful. There are a few hiccups - shower gel has an awful minty odor, towels were a bit mildowy smelling and the shower doesn’t have a door but a small glass pane that extends only 1/2 down the wall so you end up with a soaking wet bathroom floor after each shower. Also, they need to figure out breakfast - when we checked in we received a breakfast menu that looked good but arrived for breakfast to find that there is only a meager continental breakfast available (which we came to find out was actually included in our room). I know it is a work in progress so we tried to be patient. But kudos to the staff, they were pleasant and lovely.

We booked a king cottage suite for 2 nights and it was the best decision we’ve made during this trip! The inn was beautiful and in a great location. The room was very chic and clean (it might be small to someone else but it worked perfectly for us and our toddler who slept in the living room). It was newly renovated with nice furniture and we talked to some people who were staying at the same time - they had visited here in the past before ownership changed and were happy about it. Our cottage was in the back so even though it was not facing the oceanfront, it was very quite. The water pressure was great and there was only one window AC in the bedroom but since we are from NYC and it was cooler at night, not an issue for us. The staff was helpful, welcoming, and friendly. Very easy to communicate via texts. There was a cute gift shop near the reception, loved it! The best part was the kitchen/restaurant/bar in the property. We didn’t have to worry about driving, just 1 min walk from the cottage. The service and menu was great. Also there’s a vending machine (for sodas) and free ice dispenser outside. Very convenient. The salt water pool was really nice, too. The price for the stay was high but I checked other places, they were similar but not as nice. I understand it’s a seasonal place in a prime area/season. Overall, we are very happy about our stay. Hope to come back in the future.

This was our first visit & hopefully not our last. The location is pristine, the staff friendly and helpful, the surrounding neighborhood cottage owners couldn't have been nicer as we took our coastal daily walk. It was like stepping back in time the way folks used to travel...relaxing!! The pool was a wonderful treat after a long day taking in the breathtaking views , exploring the area and relaxing in one of the many Adirondack chairs at the edge of the ocean with cocktail in hand. Picture opportunities abound here! If you're looking for a "resort" with granite counters in an oversized bathroom type room move on but if you're looking for a generationally beloved unforgettable location with clean rooms and comfy beds than look no further! Bad reviewers should read the history of the inn before you write negatively. Sure, some of the room decor is dated but the remarkable history & location is what makes this a truly unique place to stay.

We had a great stay in a unit that was small, but quiet and well furnished. The breakfasts are great and we also enjoyed a lovely dinner by the windows looking out at the sunset. Staff very friendly. One thing that is not working well is that the TV is Roku--many channels, but not able to see local channels or major networks. Very disappointing not to be able to watch our favorite baseball team. But we'll be back next year!

Did not stay in the inn, but ate at the restaurant. We were there just two days after the restaurant opened under new management (6/11/23). The menu was limited, but the meals were very good. Everyone in our party of four commented on how good each of our meals were. The staff was attentive. The bartender is quite gregarious and friendly. Give it a try, it is very good.

We were there to celebrate my birthday and it is such a beautiful resort , you can just sit in your private balcony and view gorgeous sunset , enjoy sounds of ocean waves chirping of birds. They do have beautiful bar with lot of amazing drink options . You can get the drinks and relax in the chair and watch sunset . Their in-house restaurant is also amazing. Chef did went out of the way and prepare vegan food for me on my special day . I highly recommend this place if you are in your vacation in Boothbay Harbor !

Ate here four times during our stay and was always pleased with quality and quantity. The blueberry lemon curd parfait with a moose sugar cookie became my “must have” dessert. Super friendly waitstaff too.

Very pretty hotel right on the ocean.. Amazing views of the sunsets. Great room very modern with elegant atmosphere. Loved the 4 post king size bed. Omg! Fabulous windows! Comfortable chairs to sit in and enjoy the view. Oh and 411 (ladies) there is a mirror AND sink OUTSIDE the main bathroom. Where you can wash up and do your makeup WITHOUT a crowded situation. 👍😀 breakfast was delicious. Compliments to the kitchen staff. Everything was clean and tidy. Thanks to all the staff for making this experience wonderful.

Prior to reserving a room, I read a few reviews about the inn. The vast majority of them were very positive with some comments complaining about the age of the rooms, saying they needed upgrades. Well, my wife and I spent the night and she doesn't want to leave. If you are looking for a clean, friendly place to "travel back in time" this is a must. Ocean Point is over 120 years old and overlooks a quaint little harbor that leads to the ocean, you would think you are 100 miles from the nearest city. Being from Michigan the best way I can describe it is that it reminds me of a miniature version of the Grand Hotel on Mackinaw Island. If you are contemplating staying, do it!

This was my husband and my first visit to Maine. We had no expectations and as they say just "winged it! " Boy, did we luck out! The room was quaint and cozy. It was clean and the staff was fabulous. The breakfast buffet was exceptional. Eggs were real and my Husband loved the pancakes! I had the scampi for dinner and I was very impressed.. Full of flavor.. My husband had a steak and was very pleased.. Medium rare.. Just the way he ordered it. The pool was clean and towels were always available. Temperature of the pool was perfect! We were also blessed with great weather July 11/15 .. And of course the view is breath taking!! I spent time on the rocky beach collecting beach glass which proved to be fruitful! Glad I had water shoes as the beach is rocky and walking to the point could be slippery.. I would suggest water shoes or gym shoes. The nights were cool.. Bring a jacket or sweater. The people vacationing and the locals were very pleasent and helpful! Truly a feeling like no other !! We are going back next year!

This is not a 5 star luxury resort, but is worthy of 5 stars in a rating. The resort is old and quaint. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Great views of the ocean. We loved staying here with our friends and children.

We had a party of 10 and celebrated my parents 55th wedding anniversary, my sister’s 29th anniversary, and her birthday. The service was wonderful in the drive there was beautiful. If there was 10 stars for the food we would’ve given that as well. We highly recommend the swordfish and the lobster stew. The stuffed haddock was to die for!! Beautiful views!!

Charming spot on the ocean - off the beaten path but close enough to enjoy Boothbay Harbor and other places of interest. Good food at the restaurant.
