The Sonder Shaker

Best meal we had in the 4 days we spent in the Twin Cities. The menu is small, but we’ll designed and expertly prepared. The servers are easy to find and just pop by to see if you need anything, but the don’t feel intrusive at all. If we had another free evening, we would have gone back again.

Busy for a Friday night! Nice atmosphere inside but be prepared to look for street parking. Definitely a pricer place and a smaller menu. Our group got the wagyu burger, half chicken, pesto pasta, and chicken sandwich. The fan favorite was the burger and pesto pasta. In our opinion the half chicken didn’t have much flavor but was cooked nicely. It came with a sauce that reminded us of licking a penny… a very metallic taste. The side salad was very tasty!

Absolutely loved this place! The staff greet and happily direct you to desired tables. The service is prompt and continuous. We had the Wagyu burgers. Absolutely best smash burger in Minnesota! No lie!

Can attest, great spot for a solo diner. Arrived on a Friday evening with no reservation and they made sure I knew I was welcome to a table and was not expected to sit at the bar, but I was glad I did.

The bartender was fantastic and made me a delicious hand-crafted n/a cocktail. Happy hour also great. Excellent tacos and pulled pork fries. The tacos were perfectly spicy (more than less if you're sensitive). The fries were very simple, but the pork was perfection. I look forward to getting the sliders next time.

For those not familiar with the area, plan to parallel park and pay a meter if you want to park close.

Will absolutely go again.

Cool spot with excellent drinks and food. Wednesday night date night was a hit! We tried the negroni and the old fashioned, both delicious. A proper huge bowl of mussels (phenomenal) and some rare steaks (good, not great) later, we finished up with cannolis and wine for dessert. We saw some burgers leave the kitchen that looked to die for, we will need to try those next.

I got the Bucatini and was pleasantly surprised by all the flavors in the dish! They also have the best happy hour in MSP. Their old fashioned in top 5 in the country for me, and the Pool Rules pisco + mezcal drink crushes. Bougie fries are great drunken eats.

We love this neighborhood gem! Great atmosphere, food and cocktails. They have the best happy hour food deals. The burger here is top 10 in the city, but so are other bites on their menu! Their entrees rotate but we’ve always been happy with the food we receive. Highly recommend stopping in for food and drinks!

Stopped here late on a Saturday evening for drinks with a girlfriend and had attentive service! We chose patio seating since it was the end of the summer season and you never know if you’ll get good service when you sit outside farther away from the other patrons but we had no issues. Tried the Espresso Martini and was pleasantly surprised. A sweeter version and not creamy - still enjoyed it! Didn’t try any bites, but will be back to check out the happy hour and food!

Everything from start to finish was wonderful. I had made an error on tock and only put two guests on the reservation. They were able to accommodate. Our server was the sweetest and all of us were super pleased with the service and food. We ended up each ordering a the non-alcoholic beverages, chicken nuggs for starters. The waygu burger and fries were delicious, I ended up bringing my fries home and reheating them in my air fryer and they were still so good. We ended the evening with dessert or pecan pie. This place has cool vibes and aesthetic, would totally go back.

Absolutely blown away by this place. Indeed beers on tap. Delicious grilled Romain Caesar, one of the best burgers I've had (think culver's style but fancy wagyu with a delicious sauce). And leveled up with our terrific and attentive server, Devon. Tried mussels for the first time and regret not ordering them sooner. Will be back. (Picture is after they were half eaten.)

Update: their brunch is obviously unreal, but see some photos. Really enjoyed the Biscuits and Gravy that somehow photographs well, as well as the chicken and waffle. My partner loved the crab cake Benedict.

After a year plus living in the city I can confidently say Sonder Shaker is my favorite restaurant. We will be back again and again.

This place is seriously amazing!
Right from the start the service was great. Our server Brandon was top notch. The cocktails were really creative and tasty. Appetizers were great, the perfectly seasoned, crispy smash burgers lived up to the hype! And the bananas Foster bread pudding was to die for.
We will definitely be back!

Great place for happy hour and date night, even a party! Highly recommend Brussels sprouts, Mussels, and Conch Fritters. Service was great and staff were very nice and friendly. Point Break and High Tide are my favorite drinks. Definitely will go back there again and again! Strongly recommended! Love this restaurant! 😃

We thought we’d try this place after hearing of their post-Covid reopening. I’m so glad we did. What a charming place with friendly staff, good food and comfy seating. I mean it has to be cool with Wes Anderson artwork/photos on the wall.

Our server Devon was spot-on. He answered our menu questions, was friendly, offered tips when appropriate..... overall very professional.

The food and drinks were fantastic. We tried the special, boar chop with an excellent sauce which came with elote. I had salmon and wild rice (rice subbed for farro risotto due to gluten allergy) which was fixed to perfection. We also shared Brussel sprouts with a maple glaze. E ended sharing the berry pavlova.

We found easy street parking, but a public parking lot is a block away.

Came here for my birthday tonight and it was the best dinner ever!! I wish I got the hostess/waitress name bc she was soo nice. I was obsessed with the food!! Can’t wait to go back. We got the burger, chicken karaage, brussel sprouts, & for drinks the pool rules & dino chicken everything was 10/10

Great experience! Service was wonderful - he was very patient with us and gave great drink recommendations. The craft cocktails really do live up to the hype. The Lush Life was fruity and refreshing without being overly sweet! We got the seasonal bass and jerk chicken, which were both flavorful and cooked perfectly. Would highly recommend!

Cute atmosphere, great service, and excellent food! I love that it's a small menu so the kitchen can specialize and make everything perfect. The food was all amazing from the soup to dessert! The wine was great as well. I can't wait to return to try one of the fun drinks from the menu.

Best happy hour (4-6) in the area - great signature cocktails, and the Burger is a nicely done smash burger style. Had the brussel sprouts (with honey glaze and ham) - a definite go to. Get there early - it fills up.

Great place for happy hour. The cocktails are refreshing and the food is a great pair. I recommend the animal fries and Brussels sprouts. I’m not big fan of the salmon appetizer, but that’s more of a personal preference. The ambiance is perfect too outside of downtown and great location for date night.

Love loved it! We had a bit of a wait and they were very kind. Had the brussel sprouts, Sonder Shot, and the Sonder burger was fabulous. Everything was fabulous.

We came here for carry-out, although I would have LOVED to dine in. The ambiance, aesthetic and overall charm was out of this world! We ordered the half chicken entree and waygu burger. The fries are wedges and are simply delicious. The chicken was very well seasoned and came with mashed potatoes, gravy, and wild rice. Everything was so dang good!! Definitely coming back here next time we're in town!
