Western Diner

This place is a gem. Unlike the overrated shiny place down the street, this one has really great food, excellent service, and it's not overcrowded on weekends. Our favorite are the blueberry pancakes - fantastic.

The best little family diner in town. Luncheonette hours and modest prices. This place is Exactly what a "greasy spoon" is supposed to be . Family oriented. Great food and attentive staff

The food, service and prices are great! My only sort of negative is that it can get very loud, but there's nothing they can do about that.

This is my favorite hometown places the western diner. Food always excellent waitress was super quick and very nice. Breakfast is always good there burgers are very juicy and cooked perfect 5/5 would Recommend if you are near Western Ave!

This is a great place for am inexpensive meal. No frills, good choices, everything is better than expected for a cheap fate diner. The staff is friendly, atmosphere is comfortable. There are usually older folks dining and most seem to be regulars. Says something about the value. Everything was delivered quickly to the table and the wait staff were attentive and friendly without seeming weird nor invasive. I would eat here regularly. It's rare to find a fully satisfying sit-down meal for two for under $20 these days. And that's including everything, even drink refills!

Stopped in to have lunch before heading for the fair. We haven't been to this place in years. While not fancy, it is like stepping back in time. My wife had a cup of cream of peperoni soup that came with her cheese burger and fries. She liked it so much, she ordered some to take home. I had the simple western omelet with home fries and toast. It wasn't bad at all. Apparently, the diner is only open for breakfast and lunch.

Very pleased with our breakfast here. Well priced and we all enjoyed our pancakes, French toast, bacon and eggs. Service was quick. Not a fancy place, but it felt like a local diner with a lot of repeat customers.

Long-time favorite (pretty much my entire adult life, lol!). Good diner food at good diner prices.

Unbelievable lunch specials, so glad we stopped! Soup,sandwich, cold slaw, French fries and a drink all for 9.99!!! And DELISH! Our new stop when going to Albany! Just remember they close at 3pm.

Came here for the first time a week ago. We were starving when we got there so we were so pleased to see the food come out quickly. Service was prompt and polite. The food was perfect. I got the over-easy eggs and they were cooked to perfection. The omelette was also picture perfect. They earned 5 stars. Looking forward to coming back.

A cozy diner, great Reubens sandwich and the lunch specials were awesome; Navy Bean Soup and Crab Bisque!

I was supposed to meet someone there to have lunch but he was a no -- show! (My 1st visit to this restaurant!) I did look at the menu while I was waiting and I was surprised by the very reasonable prices for their food! It looked like many of their customers were enjoying their food and from where I was sitting, the portions were large! Makes it a good place to eat for the cost of eating out!
I think the staff were great! My waitress was very attentive. She asked me what I wanted to drink while I was "waiting" for my guest. One other waitress asked if I was doing okay? I thought that was very kind of her to ask. A copule more things, I desired to move to a window seat that had been used when I first arrived. The bus boy came to my rescue and helped me to move to my desired booth. Lastly, the lady who was the hostess helped me to watch out for my guest. She was wonderful about it!
I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a place that has great food, friendly staff, and good prices. Enjoy! 😊

12/31/19. I originally posted my review a year ago. Back yet again and it's still one of my favorite diners to go to. Food is always good hot and fresh. Staff is always amazing to us. I always seem to get the same waitress everytime we go and she is a delight. Always smiling. Always on top of her tables. A+++

A staff wanted to go here with two consumers, the ladies enjoyed their lunch.The soup was sooo good. We will take a few more ladies next week. The waitress was great, enjoyed ourselves.Thanks for taking us Emma haven't been here in years. Dee

Very friendly place to eat. Good prices. Closes early just breakfast and lunch. Good food. Great staff.

Quick service, sometimes. The food is very nicely priced, and very well cooked. The woman working the register is probably ready to retire, but we can't force her, can we?

Make sure to get there nice and early, the parking lot fills quickly.

We've been coming to this diner weekly after Sunday Mass for 10 years, eating out isn't my favorite thing to do- some establishments are disappointing and I walk away feeling like I should of went somewhere else. But the Western Diner, has never disappointed, great food, phenomenal waitstaff and the atmosphere always feels like I'm home- warm, inviting and friendly.
