Big Bore Barbecue

We LOVE Big Bore BBQ. We've been coming here for about 3 years. We live in Minneapolis, MN, but don't mind the drive for excellent food! We buy the gift card deal at Christmas, where you get a $20 gift card to use Jan - March, for every $100 gift card you buy. We just came for Valentine's Day, at 3pm, to avoid the rush. We got the build your own, so we got a full rack of ribs, 1/2 lb of pulled pork, large order fries, seasoned sour cream-spicy! ($1), 1 root beer($3), no pickle side, and it comes with a slice of bread. Our bill was approx:$56. They just updated their bathrooms since I've been there, so I made sure to tell the guy telling us goodbye, to please tell the Mgr or owner that I am SO happy with the upgrades! I took several pictures of the menu, our order, the ladies bathroom accessibility, and the restaurant. This place is hands down, the BEST PLACE for BBQ! There's always a lot of parking available, if you don't see any in the normal parking lots, go to the one that is next to the smoker /it might be the overflow employee lot? There is curbside pick up too, & that we've done several times, it's easy, you can order at curbside, or I think you can order ahead? I don't go here for alcohol or live music so I can't attest to that aspect.
My only Con: I'd love to bring my parents here, they are in their 70s, but they are hard of hearing, and wear expensive hearing aids. (it doesn't seem like much to you & me, but when it's background sounds, it makes it difficult). Even today, Wednesday, Valentines Day, with the music overhead @ 3:30pm, they may still have trouble. I guess what I should do is to bring them at 11am, hoping the music isn't much at this hour? But just wanted to speak up on that for others who may have HOH parents or may be like this.

A little out of the way for us but absolutely worth the drive. This place was fantastic! Was told hour and a half wait at 530 on a Saturday and we were seated within 45 minutes. The blueberry old fashioned was very good.
We had chips, Pico, and Queso along with Cheese curds for an app. Definitely recommend the pepper jelly, it is amazing and not as spicy as I would have thought.
Main dishes were Chicken Street Tacos, Rack of Ribs, Prime Rib, and Brisket. The meats literally melt in your mouth and the portions are huge!
Sides we ordered were Mac & Cheese, Beans, Potato Salad and Brussle Sprouts. I highly recommend you plan to share sides, there is more food than you can possibly eat.
Everything was amazing, well worth the drive, the wait, and the price ($200 for 4 with a togo dessert and lunch for the next day!).

Our first time visiting & we have been missing out! We got the pulled chicken and brisket - it was amazing! Also, the mac and cheese was great! For dessert, get the chocolate chip banana bread!! We will definitely be back!! Wonderful service from all the staff.

I have been here several times now and it’s my go to BBQ spot, great service, fun atmosphere, and amazing food! It’s time for another road trip for some BBQ!

Love it here! Great atmosphere and service. When we arrived it was pretty busy and we assumed we would have to wait but were seated within a minute. I need to recommend the bloody mary, it was SO good and could be a meal or appetizer by itself. The food was amazing too, I had the meat and mac burrito. Portions are large so it was nice to bring home leftovers and enjoy again later. Highly recommend.

The place was packed, and people were waiting to be seated. The food...SO GOOD, my favorite place for ribs now! Good bark, flavor mmm, tinder, and fall off the bone. Beans were great, Mac and cheese... ummm, moving on, pickels tasted like cucumbers... weird. Brisket was alright, pork, alright. So the ribs and the amber boc draft beer are all I need. Food came QUICKLY, family style. Reasonably priced.
Part 2:
We've been craving this place, so my family made the short trip again, and it did not disappoint! As the menu states above, the baby back ribs, "This is what you came here for!" TRUTH! That and the pulled pork and super crispy onion rings, great with the BBQ sause. And a side of Mac and cheese was good as well. Granddaughter had cheeseburger slider, and my daughter said they were very good. No sweet tea my daughter asked and was the only disappointment.
Minding my own business... I saw tacos and a super large burrito walk (carried) past me. I took a look at it after was half gone... OK I'm going to come try all that too!

Visited on 2/17. We got there early enough so we were lucky enough to get seated right away.
Our server Elizabeth was very attentive and on the ball! Between our group we shared brisket, pulled pork, ribs, beans, coleslaw, and Brussel sprouts. The beans and the Brussel sprouts are two must try sides! Ribs and brisket were amazing!

Absolutely the best Texas BBQ in this part of the country. Ribs are perfection. The kind of place you hope changes absolutely nothing, ever. I want to come back in 30 years and enjoy the bore exactly how it is. Check it out!

This is the BEST BBQ place in Minnesota.
The food is always top tier when we eat here, the prices are extremely reasonable, and the portions are absolutely perfect.
The burrito with brisket is my absolute favorite thing on the menu here.
The staff is also always super friendly and on the ball. I recommend this place yo anyone.

Is this Texas? Sure feels like it. From the moment you arrive you’re greeted with the heavenly smells of bbq being smoked on the grills outside. Meat so tender it melts in your mouth. The meat is so juicy no bbq sauce is needed and this is coming from a guy who HAS to have bbq sauce. Fries tasted like fresh cut potatoes harvested from the garden. Wholly heavens this is the best BBQ in the entire state. Just as good as the best Kansas City BBQ !!!

So we have wanted to try this place for awhile now, we'll they didn't disappoint for a Midwest BBQ Joint. I got the 1/2 rack of Ribs, added the County Rd19 Sauce on top of them bad boys witch was absolutely great choice. You'll wait a little bit for a table, buy that's okay folks, go get a drink at the bar or play some tabs..... Service was really good, they kept right up with everything we felt. Don't pass up going, you won't be disappointed!

The Pulled Pork, Ribs and the Mac & Cheese for the win!! What a great BBQ joint! We decided on a platter and got a 1/4 lb. each of the pulled chicken, pork, brisket and ribs. For our sides we chose baked beans and macaroni and cheese. Their BBQ sauces are all super good. A unique restaurant and great atmosphere. Our server was Jessica F. and she did a great job!

My family and I come here now at least twice a month. By far and away my favorite BBQ in Minnesota and I would put it up against the best of Texas. The ribs are a serious star, the brisket is top notch, and they have amazing Mac and cheese. Kids love it, the BBQ sauce is on point. Middle of the road is actually my favorite, but all 3 sauces are fabulous. You can’t go wrong coming here, and we drive 40 minutes just to make the 11am opening time. Love it!

Amazing!! We came from st cloud it was worth the drive. Everything we had was Delicious. The service was fantastic for how busy it was. Highly recommend the dry rubs ribs and the pulled pork. Everything was good for us. Got a margarita that was perfectly made. They have shiner bock on tap which my family loves. Recommend going really early it gets busy quickly!

Very nice bbq and great drink selections. I had the fat back Mac and cheese and the Big Borreito and I couldn't finish it since they give you decent sized portions! Will be coming here again.

Really good food. The cheese curds, brisket melt, and prime rib were all excellent. The Cubano sandwich was also very good.
We really liked the house fries, and brussel sprouts were good (although they were a bit sweet). The sweet potato fries were fine.

I've had BBQ all over the south and Minnesota is certainly not the place that comes to mind when I think of BBQ. This might be the best BBQ I have ever had. The food is absolutely fantastic. The ribs were great, the brisket was awesome and I couldn't believe how good the brusselss sprouts were. This is my new favorite BBQ joint

Went yesterday for Mother’s Day and were blown away by their Mac & Cheese, Cheese curds (not greasy and super delish) and Cookie Dough Bundt Cake! Their Buffalo Chicken Wrap & Smoked Clubhouse were awesome too. Luckily, there wasn’t a wait, but I guess it’s the luck of the draw to get a table at times. 10/10- this place is Hanover’s finest!
