Great place for a hike. Trails are ideal for horses (sandy and a little rough in some spots), so wear supportive shoes and look out for the piles. The nice thing about the sand, it doesn't get muddy

Amazing park reserve. Beautiful rolling prairies. Nice trails. So fun to see horses and other hikers with their dogs. Dogs need to be on a 6 ft leash. We will definitely be back!

This is an absolutely beautiful park that we take our horses to frequently! There are horse and human trails (no bikes) and there's an off-leash dog park (not fenced in), too. In the summer, the bugs are manageable here versus other parks - perhaps because it's very sandy. It's especially beautiful in the fall!

Nice quiet trails through the woods and prairie. I walked 3 miles, but you could definitely add more distance to a loop if you wanted.
Mostly flat.
Clean vault toilets available.

Great spot to do some off leash hiking with your dog. There were lots of small beaches off the river, so you can find a quiet spot to let your dog swim. Majority of trails are sandy, but wide and easy to traverse in most places. Some smaller side trials that require ducking under or stepping over fallen trees, but we didn't encounter anything too intense. Absolutely do not make the same mistakes as us, bring bug spray. The mosquitoes are very intense as of June.

I LOVE this dog park! I take my dog here a couple of times a week. It's huge and offers woods, fields, and the river! Make sure you bring a towel for your dog if they like swimming!

Plenty of room to walk and the sandy trail was a pleasant change. The superb canopy of the tress provided a tremendous amount of temperature change on a hot day. I happened to visit while many ponies were out being walked.

I've been on a mission of exploring regional parks around the Twin Cities. Crow-Hassan is high on my list of favorites. I arrived early on a foggy spring morning. I wandered for a couple hours, only seeing a couple others out and about. There were dozens of birds singing and calling away all morning - two swans flew by, there was a three with 5 turkey vultures, geese were splashing in the pond. I also saw a family of whitetail deer. There had recently been a controlled prairie burn, and so in some parts it smelled of scorched earth. It was a nice mix of prairie, lakes, and woods. Nice trails, some rolls, but no big hills. Will definitely be back!

Great park with lots of space for the dogs to run freely! I've heard stories of dogs fighting and biting so keep aggressive dogs home and toys at home. All the dogs I've run into have been 👍 kind.

Wide trails, which is a plus and a minus, but overall beautiful and large. Saw a flying trumpeter Swan and it's nice the snowmobile trails are far enough away from from hiking trails as to not ruin the experience!

Big beautiful Park! Miles and miles of hiking trails and a beautiful expanse of prairie. The dog for really tuckered out! It can be a little difficult to hike in some of the trails since they are sand, so make sure you wear good shoes. Also, watch it for horse droppings!

Such an unbelievably beautifully breathtaking area. The expansive park offers an unique experience to whatever you feel up to that day. I've been here more than a dozen times and I still find something new. Definitely one to explore if you haven't already!

A beautiful and open park. There's a decent mix of wooded and prairie trails. Great fall colors.

This is my favorite off-leash dog park in the metro. Bring bug spray! Bordered by the Crow River, and fields, it's a large area for dogs to run. My beagle loves swimming in the river on hot days and the trails don't get over-crowded. In the spring, the river tends to flood making much of the off-leash area unaccessible.

Vast and peaceful. Walk along the river, through forests and beautiful prairie. Lots of horse activity, please keep your dogs leashed.
