Senkou Hair Braiding

I have been going to Senkou Hair braiding for over 12 years she's very experienced in all types of hair styles. Fanta is amazing and very professional. My hair was very short and she was able to braid it with no problem. I recommend her to any family and friends.

They did a wonderful job on my box braids. It has a typical beauty shop atmosphere with the laughing and gossip. The ladies are friendly and respectful. The price is the similar as other places in Ypsi and includes the hair. The thing about this place is the comfort level. It's a relaxed atmosphere. The ladies do speak in their native tongue but I just downloaded one of those translator apps to know if they were being disrespectful. I definitely recommend this place.

This was my first time having my hair braided there. The two ladies who worked on my head were very gentle and very fast. My box braids were done in three hours. They kept asking me questions to make sure I was getting what I wanted. There is one lady there who is not African, she does regular styles..perms, press and curl, weaves etc. Very nice shop.

Fanta was realy nice and did not braid too tight. My scalp is sensitive, so I was very impressed leaving the salon in absolutely no pain at all. Also my appointment ran on time. I will definitely go back.

I have been coming to Senkou for about 10 years. Those ladies in there are great! Fanta, the owner, is the one you want if you are tender-headed. She is so sweet and very personable. She makes sure you get what you want. If you are on a schedule she will make sure that there is more than 1 lady working on your braids. The braids last such a long time too!

They also have an in house stylist named Loretta and she is amazing! She is so welcoming and always makes her customers smile. She can fry, dye, and lay dome hair to the side! And her sew ins and quick weaves are top of the line.

I recommend this shop to anyone who is in need of a hair shop to call their own.

Took my daughter here to get her hair braided. I was nervous about it being too tight, but it was perfect. My daughter loved the style and length and I liked the price. I plan to return as well as recommend to others.

I have been getting my hair braided here for the last 8 years and I will continue to go there. I absolutely love this place. They are friendly and work to ensure your hair is right. And the price is reasonable. It cost about $150-$180 for box braids.

I love this place. The service is fast and the customer service is wonderful. I been going to place for 16 years and so has my children. My hair grows and they give me great beauty tips. I am always satisfied when I leave. Everyone that I sent there loves it. They are not a like other braiding place where they take your money and don't care about your hair. I absolutely loved this place. I went today for the first time and I loved it. They were quick, neat and very gentle. My hair is just right. It's not too tight so I dont have to worry about losing my edges. Most of all they were very professional. I was sitting still in the chair trying to figure out my next style so I can come back. I will be going back!

I absolutely love..Fanta. She is fast, professional and has great prices. Compared to other braiding shops that take all day and don't respect your time...she is wonderful. I won't go to another braider...she doesn't braid tight and isn't grabby hand at all..

This is the only place I go to when in need of braids! I’ve been going to Fanta since I was a young kid. When kinky twists were a trend lol. My mom goes to her faithfully! Fanta & the other women are very friendly. It’s also multiple women that are working on your head which makes it go by faster! They definitely get you in & out which I love! When I get a braided style I always ask that they leave some of my edges out so that I can style the baby hair. If your looking for a hair braider in the ypsi area I recommend you see Fanta! Her shop use to be on Ecorse rd but they moved to ford Blvd.

The people at this place were very nice I checked the reviews and people said they were unprofessional but that is not true and prices are pretty good and my hair was amazing I would come here again

Senkou African Hair Braiding is the only braiding shop I'd recommend. Fanta is the best. She listens and doesn't braid your hair too tight.
