Chester's Banana Cream Pie. Kinda deconstructed. Custard, caramelized banana, crumble crust, whipped cream, drizzle of caramel and chocolate. I could tell you about the fantastic French dip sandwich or the baby back ribs but this dessert is spectacular! This is so big that it takes two to eat it, maybe even three!

This is a fantastic restaurant! I have visited three times now. I come to Rochester for a weekend away! The Sunday brunch is beyond awesome!! I have never had one thing that wasn’t delicious!!! The endless mimosas at Sunday brunch are great! The pancakes, omelette, and French toast are mouth watering! Sometimes I come just for a late dessert after dinner. The carrot cake with hot praline sauce and ice cream is spectacular!! Can’t wait to return next month!!! Here is the kids menu pancakes for $5.00!!

I visited the wonderful establishment while at a conference at the Mayo Clinic. It was recommended by a few people. Oh man! They were absolutely correct about the food and drinks here. I ordered the Lobster Mac and cheese. Amazing! The service was great! I was very content. My only complaint is this restaurant is NOT located in Florida. Just means I have to make another trip to Minnesota in the future. Will definitely visit again.

We are very impressed with this place. We went at an odd time, (right in between lunch and dinner) and from beginning to end, it was a 5 star experience. To begin with they allowed us to choose from lunch or dinner menus which was nice.

Our waiter Phillip was attentive, helpful and funny. His recommendations were spot on and he didn’t pressure or try to upsell us.

We ordered a half chicken entree with mash potatoes and gravy, a turkey avocado sandwich with fries and cole slaw, a wedge salad with ranch and vinaigrette dressings, on the side, a pan of cornbread with whipped maple butter and a couple lemonades. My wife and I split and sampled everything. The rotisserie chicken was fall off the bone delicious, well seasoned but not over sapid. The roast turkey and avocado sandwich and the wedge salad were both extremely fresh and the dressings for both were delicious as well. The fries were a whole plate, not seasoned and not greasy. The cornbread was a whole pan that was closer to cake and icing than bread and butter. Even the Lemonade and strawberry lemonades were delicious. As a matter of fact, the water was really good water too.

The prices were reasonable for the quality of food and service we received. If you’re ever in Rochester MN, give them a try.

So glad I found this place for brunch. It was so good. I would definitely want to host a group here again sometime. Monkey bread was amazing. They had vegan options.

Michaela is an OUTSTANDING server! She recommended two outstanding wines for my husband and me (Daou Cab for my husband) and
Le Crema Chardonnay for me). Our dinners were DELICIOUS! Jambalaya ...just the right amount of heat and flavor and Beet Salad with Shrimp...Beets flavorful and the arugula with just the right amount of goat cheese and nuts...only regret is this place is not in Chicago, with Michaela as the top server!
The manger stopped at our table...so kind and truly interested that we were having a good experience...not good...EXCELLENT!

Amazing meals at this restaurant! We got the walleye tacos and the wild mushroom burger. The rotisserie chicken wings with chipotle ranch were outstanding! My favorite thing we ordered. My husband has celiac and was able to even able to eat the key lime pie (without the crust). They have a decent amount of gluten-free options. A little on the expensive side, but great quality of food. Overall, would recommend for a nicer date night or family night out.

Phenomenal food! The blackberry jalapeno burger was delectable, the ribs amazing, and the walleye cakes among the best I've had. We were a group and shared bites of each dish, so I was able to try a few items.

The deserts were divine. We got the carrot cake, banana cream pie, and chocolate cake, and all were phenomenal. The carrot cake was amazing, and after drizzling some of the praline sauce on it the cake got even better. The banana cream pie was hands down the best I've ever had the good fortune of tasting. The chocolate cake was sinfully good. Rich, moist, light and fluffy, and made with dark chocolate for a taste that was exquisite. The chocolate sauce just made it even better. The ice cream served with the carrot cake and chocolate cake could be a desert in and of itself. That scoop of vanilla is definitely up there with some of the most delicious ice creams I've had.

Excellent! Well worth it! Even the bathrooms were clean and accommodating. Changing table in one of the stalls. Large enough for wheelchairs. The food was superb. Staff were polite, witty and classy! My husband got the prime rib french dip sandwich with fries. His fries were cooked to perfection. Just the right amount of crispness. His sandwich had outstanding flavor! I had the Healthy Shrimp bowl. Definitely had some kick with the right amount of flavor. Well worth it!!

In summary; very good food but also a little pricey. We ordered the fried calamari, a rack of ribs, a burger, and a bottle of rosé. In total it was about 100-130$ including tip. Its worth it, but definitely keep this in mind. Otherwise, it was nicely decorated and atmospheric, and they were staffed pretty well.

Ashley is an excellent server who pays attention to detail. We had the chicken health bowl, smoked gouda potato soup, and a grilled meatloaf with mashed potatoes, and broccoli. The chicken bowl was tasty and meatloaf is the best ever. We will definitely return for more in the future.

The food was great. 100% try the Parmesan crusted walleye if you’ve never had it!

Gluten Free/Mayo Patient Review: We are in town for the week for Mayo Clinic appointments. Today was a disappointing day and we decided to take a break and go to Chesters. The staff was very nice, it was walking distance from Mayo Clinic, they had a great menu and lots of gluten free options (all labeled on the menu). My husband got the Cowboy burger and fries and I got the Gluten Free Big Mac with a Cesar salad. The prices are a bit on the high side for a quick lunch but being able to get away from Mayo, have a nice meal and relax was worth it. Would definitely go again.

Here come my ABCs:

Atmosphere: casual enough for your church jeans but formal enough for prom.

Bites: my oh my! Fresh squeezed lemonade? Oh yes! Bread to follow with with maple butter tasted like pancakes for dinner. A nice glass of wine...or 2. Ribeye steak cooked to a perfect medium. Garlic butter glaze? Like something of my dreams but in reality. Smoked gouda hash browns were probably my least favorite part of the plate. It lacked texture. It had great flavor but lacked texture. The au jus was perfect!
I was going to order the minute chicken BUT I changed my mind last minute because my server, Gail, suggested the rotisserie chicken. I'm glad she did!! It had a great flavor of smoke and rotisserie flavor. Nice and tender and juicy. So delicious! The mashed potatoes had great texture. Still had lumps. That tells me they were mashed by hand and not instant or out of a bag. Charred asparagus was really nice. Crispy and not over cooked. We could only eat half of our meals.

Cleanliness: Everything was clean and in service. Kitchen appeared to be clean also.

Service: Wow! Best service I've had in a long time. Our excellent server boxed up our meals for us. The sign of a great restaurant. We really appreciate her. Super knowledgeable. Very attentive.

Overall: I rarely give 5 🌟. This one deserves it. Keep up the good work. Thanks for making our trip to Mayo/my birthday/our Valentines Day meals special.

Turkey avocado melt is amazing. And you absolutely should try the carrot cake!

The rotisserie chicken sandwich is a must for lunch. Everything from the bread, to the tender chicken to the cheese make this a tasty option. The banana custard pie, which is definitely meant for two or even three people, is outstanding.

Best meal I’ve eaten in a long, long time. We absolutely loved it. Highly recommend! Our waiter Shawn was wonderful as well.

I love this place. Whenever I come to Rochester I never miss to dine here.

Congrats to Chester's for 15 years of providing amazing food to the Rochester area! Business owner Scott Foster, partner John Nermyr and Executive Chef Derek Jensen deserve applause!

It is very fitting to be located within a short distance of Mayo Clinic and carry such a high dedication to healthy eating and living. To accommodate COVID-19 concerns, we enjoyed our lunch outside on the patio. With construction occurring on in the area to make outside dining even more pleasurable, we plan on returning.

I am a huge fan of lettuce wraps and so had the chicken Lettuce Wraps as our starter to share. The serving was ample for two and surprised us with its tasty flavor with shitake mushrooms and water chestnuts included. They were perfectly complemented by the peanut sauce, plum sauce, are really fresh Bibb lettuce.

I had heard how healthy and tasty the “Bowl Menu” is at Chesters and so I ordered the Poke Tuna. It is colorful and thriving with the fresh tastes od steamed vegetable, lemongrass sauce, baby kale, pea tendrils, edamame,
cucumbers, and grape tomatoes served on a perfect bed of quinoa.

We shared one wedge of Cornbread, and that sufficient for two along with our meal. Now I understand why it’s called their signature recipe. It tasted like it was just baked and we really like the maple butter that is served with it.

The Bloody Mary had a generous skewer of two types of olives, cheese, sausage and cucumber. The Strawberry Mule with Basil was loaded with fresh berries and exceptional in every way. As well, the Grapefruit Margarita was a nice blend of flavors.

We ordered and were served outside, everything seemed super clean and the accommodations and décor are very pleasing. Our server was a very pleasant and professional young lady. For individuals looking for lactose and gluten-free dishes or versions of an appetizer, you’ll find the best menu selections around.

You can preorder, drive up to the front of the building, texted the details of your vehicle and they deliver your take-out food without your every having to leave your car.

I highly recommend this restaurant. And find the prices are extremely reasonable for the quality of food and service that you gain.
