Far & High Adventure Travel

I had a great trip to Myanmar with Far and High. While planning the trip, they were very responsive to all my questions, and their support in-country was wonderful. We had great guides throughout the country and all the transport (planes, boats, motor bikes, horse carts, etc. . . . ) went without a hitch. The hotels were the best available, with great accommodations and wonderful, big breakfasts. We were lucky to be at Inle Lake during a big Buddhist Festival and it was terrific. We had front row seats for the whole parade. I would recommend them wholeheartedly .

I went with a group of ten to Tibet and really enjoyed it. Postak and his company had everything done perfectly for our group. The guide was good, hotels were nice, meals were fine and I couldn't have asked for a better trip. If you get the chance to do Tibet with Far & High Adventure, do it. Everest Base Camp is beautiful and so is the monestary that you stay at.

A friend and I joined a Far & High Adventure Travel small group tour of Bhutan, Nepal and Tibet (7 people in total). It was a fantastic trip and we never worried about a thing ! The guides were knowledgeable and personable and we were transported everywhere in a comfortable van. They kept a supply of bottled water in the van so we didn't even have to worry about keeping hydrated ! A totally fantastic experience all the way through - the trip of a lifetime !

Far and High put together an amazing and memorable itinerary for our trip to Bhutan, Nepal and Tibet! I did my homework and compared with other companies what they had offered and priced. I always check their rating with the BBB in their city of operation, Minn., MN. Another seasoned traveler on the trip with us did his homework , too, before choosing Far and High to travel with. We knew we were in good hands at a fair price.
Postak ‘s connections in the countries visited were superb. All the native guides were fluent in speaking English, as if they were from the US. All were knowledgeable, attentive, and accommodating to our needs. The hotels were all nice and comfortable. F& H even tries to have you experience the life of locals such as enjoying a hot stone bath in Bhutan and riding a rickshaw in Nepal.
You will be very happy and satisfied if you choose Far and High for your travel to the Himalayan countries. Thank you, Postak for a great trip!

Our trip to Nepal was more than we ever imagined! We had Far & High arrange The Everest Luxury Lodge Trek to the Khumbu Region in Nepal. The coordination of the trip, guide, and porter were second to none. They guided us to areas we could not have done on our own. The guide and porter very friendly and vistas magnificent! We have used Far & High twice- Nepal and a separate trip to India. We would highly recommend Far & High Adventure Travel for any vacation they offer.

Outstanding!!! Postak from Far and High Adventure Travel put together a wonderful private trip for my wife and me to Nepal, Bhutan, Myanmar, and Laos in October 2018. He helped us to decide where and when to go to best enjoy the experience. He arranged for the hotels, guides, sight seeing, and inter/intra - country flights. He either secured or arranged for the visas we needed in every country. We had our own guide and driver in every country. The hotels were excellent. The guides all spoke English very well and were very accommodating to our requests. Postak was easy to work with and his communication was excellent throughout the entire process. We are home again after our very enjoyable and memorable trip to Bhutan. All travel arrangements were smooth and on time, and we were delighted with our guide and our driver, both of whom spoke excellent English. They made a great team, both contributing to the amenities and our satisfaction with every aspect of the trip.

The hotels were very spacious and pleasant and the dining opportunities, both in restaurants and the hotels were good, but there was not much variety in the meals overall. We are not sure if this is because we were considered outsiders and the local food is very spicy, or because we were served traditional meals each time. One of the hotels had a more Indian menu and that was a nice change. We did try the chilis with cheese sauce…good but very spicy, and we loved the momos!

We do have a couple of suggestions:
• This trip was our first every exposure to Vajrayana Buddhism and we found it very complicated to understand, although our guide did a great job. However, we were able to recognize some of the deities and symbols by the end of the trip. If Far and Wide could suggest a reading or short book about the religion of Bhutan it would be beneficial.
• And since we had to remove our shoes so many times, it might be suggested that footwear with Velcro closures rather than shoelaces would be easier.

There were so many memorable moments and events on this trip that it is difficult to choose one that stands out more than others. We enjoyed the mask festival and the Blessed Rainy Day picnic on the river, and are proud that we hiked to the Tiger’s Nest. It did take us longer than the usual time, but it was well worth it, and the hot stone bath must have taken care of our muscles as we did not suffer any ache or pain the next day.

Our small group of 5 friends travelled in Bhutan with Far and High in early October 2017. We worked with Postak Shrestha here in Minneapolis to customize our trip. Throughout the process Postak was committed to listening to us and making sure that our wishes were became reality when we were in Bhutan. While in this beautiful country, we had lovely accommodations, saw spectacular places and experienced exceptional pageantry at several local festivals. Our guide - Jermi - and driver - Ugey - were top notch. We also learned much about the country's history and how important the commitment to the Gross National Happiness (GNH) is. I highly recommend Postak and Far and High if you wish to visit this unique Himalayan country.

Our trip to Nepal was incredible! Postak's arrangements with the best guide, Dhiren Bahing, and our outstanding hotel of the Maya Manor Hotel far exceeded our expectations. Influenced by India and Tibet this country is a wealth of cultural experiences. The history, the religions and the people all around are something to experience and Far & High Adventures cannot be out done by any other!!!!👍👍👍👍

Far And High did an excellent job overall in organizing our 3.5 week customized trip to Mongolia, Tibet and Bhutan with brief stopovers in Nepal and Thailand. Excellent attention to detail with regard to all aspects of planning to ensure things proceeded seamlessly. Mr Postak Shrestah was pleasant to deal with and was very responsive to all our personal requests. He is knowledgable about the region and appears to visit there regularly to see for himself how things work and to meet with local guides and agencies. We used Far and High for a September 2015 private group tour of the Himalayas, China, Tibet,Nepal, Bhutan and ending in India. Postak of Far and High planned and organized the tour for us. He was terrific being easy to work with and very knowledgeable. Hotels were very good. Guides and drivers were excellent and very reliable. We would us Far & High again.

I highly recommend Far & High Adventure Travel. What an amazing trip to the Himalayas that Postak put together! Not only was it an unforgettable experience, but Far & High's sense of customer service is second to none. My sister, Chris Schrader, of World Travel Service, invited me, her brother, along on a FAM trip to Bhutan, December 12-21, 2018. It provided me with forever lasting memories, a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience. I dearly loved Bhutan, it's wonderfully friendly people, and every moment I was there. But beyond my own joy, I also want to acknowledge a few people associated with this trip.

Firstly, our tour guide, Rinzin Wangchuck. "Rinzi" was one of the best tour guides I have ever come in contact with. He was extremely knowledgably, helpful, and always available to answer questions at any time. He is also a very kind, caring, & gentle person, with an immense amount of patience, which was definitely needed at times with this tour group, and which I suspect was a challenge for him on some occasions. People are not always easy to please, but from my observations, he tried his hardest. And as far as I'm concerned, he ranks as a 10-star guide. If I ever get a chance to return to Bhutan, I would be proud to have him as my guide.

Secondly, our van and luggage drivers, Yonten and Yorji, both extremely skilled, kind, & happy souls, and I would trust my life on their driving. And there was a time or two that we literally had to!! We encountered unusual snow conditions at two high altitude passes, causing long unexpected delays due to inexperienced & somewhat rude drivers trying to drive on road conditions they should not have attempted. Without the patience & skill of both of our drivers, we easily could have been stranded along with many of the other drivers stuck in the passes for hours. But Yonten and Yorji always got us safely to our lodging destinations.

Finally, I want to acknowledge two Far and High employees that accompanied our tour group, Sareena Kunal, located in their Kathmandu, Nepal office, and Pema Dorji, located in Paro, Bhutan. These two young ladies are perhaps the finest representatives for Far and High Adventure Travels that could have been added to the tour. I understand the purpose of their participation was to give them both an opportunity to familiarize themselves with this tour and it's elements. But my sister and I both agreed that these two charming, friendly, out-going young ladies added immensely to the enjoyment of the trip. In fact, they were our two favorite participants, and we believe we have made two new friends for life! Far and High can indeed be proud of these two young women, as they couldn't have represented their company any better.

Working with Far & High was very good. Postak answered all my questions quickly and provided me with all the information that I needed to make this tour work for me. The tour itself (Mongolia / Naadam Festival), arranged by Far & High with a local company in Mongolia, was excellent. As a single traveller it is often difficult to find a company that I can work with, so I appreciated this as well.

This is my second (and definitely not my last) trip/adventure organized by Far & High Adventure Travel run by Postak. Postak is an extremely detail oriented tour organizer and responds immediately to any and every little detail that I request. You will not be disappointed if you check him out.

AWESOME TRIP! What a wonderful experience. Postak, Rinzin and Dorji went above an beyond our expectations! Every detail taken care of! Bad roads were out of their control. Only way to avoid that situation is to fly into Bumthang and then just drive one way (to Paro). But seeing mountains both ways is worth the bumpy, long drive.... or you have to wait until road project is complete.
