Let me tell you about Terry!! He drove over to Terminal 2 (I was at Terminal 1) and picked them up from their QTA (?) Office. Super nice guys working the counter tonight. It was one of the workers who was able to ping my son’s AirPods. I'm so glad they were willing to go the extra mile! My son is happy and this mama is relieved!! Thank you guys for being awesome!! I will rent from Payless again!

Easiest car rental process ever!! Alex at the Minneapolis airport was super friendly and very helpful!! The gal I talked to in the phone, their customer service line, for questions regarding vehicle selection options was also very nice and helpful. Definitely will use this service again!

Payless made it very easy to rent and return the vehicle we rented. The staff was friendly and efficient and they offered best rate for the ideal vehicle to meet our needs. Our travel plans changed and we neede to drive across country to get home. They offered the best deal and the best experience we could have hoped for.

Great experience! Wait for pickup from the airport and drive to the rental place was reasonable. Wait at the counter for pickup was also reasonable. But the return was awesome. We were on the shuttle in 3 minutes after pulling in the parking lot. Definitely more impressed then I was expecting (based on other reviews). Car had a few marks on the seats but overall was happy with it.

After having car trouble's with both of our primary vehicles, we decided to rent a car for our weekend trip to Chicago. Having not expected this expense, cost was pretty important to us, so I decided to give Payless a shot.

I'm a Minneapolis native, so the off airport location was not a problem for me. In fact I work relatively near the airport, and when I called they offered to have the shuttle driver pick me up from my office! Better yet, when I came to bring it back, the shuttle driver gave me a lift to my office in time for work. Wow!

The shuttle drivers were excellent, as were the branch staff. I even got a little bit of an upgrade! :-)

The car ran well as promised, and the entire experience was excellent. I can't speak for those with negative reviews, but I will definitely be back at Payless next time I need a rental!

We had superb service all around: a great mid-sized car (Subaru Forester) with a booster seat for no extra charge; helpful, accommodating employees who respected our choices at pick up and drop off; and successful travel in between. We'll definitely consider MSP's Payless for our rental needs in the future.

Pick up was speedy and drop off was even faster. No wait time for the shuttle to and from the airport. Service was friendly and cost was affordable. I was charged the exact amount promised when reserving the car. I would absolutely rent with Payless again in the future when traveling.

I've just read some of the other reviews and don't understand how people have had bad experiences here. Some of the negative reviews here are even about a rental location in a different state..? People get so excited to complain online, they don't even take note of the location they are writing about.

My experience at Payless in Minneapolis was delightful. I travel and rent cars sometimes 10 or more times a month during my busy season; I have premium frequent renter status at 3 other major agencies.. and still, when the prices are right, I come here.
Landed in the late evening, called the office, and the shuttle was outside waiting for me the moment I arrived at the curb. Perfect timing-- no wait at all! As we pulled up to the office, I noticed they had two of my favorite model and commented to the driver "Oh good, you have those! They are so much fun to drive." He asked which of the two colors I liked best, and I went inside to the office.

The agent and I had a bit of light chat while he was processing my paperwork, and it came up that I was in a bit of a rush to get the car and head over to pick friends up who were waiting on a ride to an event. I mentioned that my flight was late, and it had put pressure on our gameplan for the evening. He got me out the door within just about 5 minutes, and let me know that the car and color I commented about was already running and waiting for me. (The shuttle driver had pulled the car out and had it warming up by the time I had my contract in-hand.)

My outbound flight left at 5am, so when I returned the car (at 3:45// MSP can have 30+ min security lines by 4:30am), there was a shuttle waiting. You give keys to the driver, driver takes you to the terminal, and they close out the rental when office staff arrives first thing in the morning. Despite the insanely early shuttle ride time, the driver was super pleasant and conversational.

Maybe it was because I was there at off-times, but there was no line, the shuttle and processing at the office was super fast, and every employee I interacted there was great.

I'm looking forward to renting with this location again in the future. I appreciate their staff, and the ease of renting. Way less trouble than I expected- in fact no trouble at all.)

I had a good experience renting from Payless but car rentals are always way too expensive, no matter which company you rent from, so I always try to avoid having to rent a car. Having said that, I feel Payless gave me a good rate for the place and time, especially compared to some other rental options. Thank you

I had a great experience with Payless. Not sure why there are so many poor reviews. Maybe I just flew during a time when it wasn't too busy. The driver that pick us up at the airport was friendly and informative. We hardly even had to wait for anything. The only thing that went smoother than pick up a vehicle was dropping it off.

I have rented from Payless for many years. The airport shuttle is always prompt and the drivers helpful and friendly. The cars I have rented are well maintained and never been a problem. Drop your car back off at Payless and it's a quick drive back to your airport terminal. They are always much less expensive than other car rental sites in Minneapolis and I haven't found a company to beat them by price or service yet. Thanks! Cyndi

We could both drive without extra fees. The car was clean and taken care of, the staff was friendly and the process was easier than some.

I was worried when I saw bad reviews for this car rental location, but was pleasantly surprised! The woman who helped us check in was friendly and helpful. And I was happy to see we weren't charged any hidden fees. We paid exactly what we were quoted. The only complaint I would make is that the location is kind of hard to find... Aside from that, we had a great experience!

I encountered a very helpful employee on Christmas Eve who took the time to allow me to pick from three cars in my price category. She had good knowledge of the vehicles as well. Thank you for working late night on a holiday!

One of the best places to rent a car. The vehicles are clean and a great selection to choose from. There's shuttles that pick up the customer from the airport to the Payless location. The building is small and the counter representatives are really friendly. No long lines to be waiting. Expect to be in and out fast for they have wonderful service.

I was super impressed by the employees - freindly and professional. One staffer in particular went out of their way to help me find just the right vehicle for my needs - great first-time experience!

What can I say? Friendly service... convenient drop off hours... free airport shuttle. No complaints.
Update (6/6/18): this specific car rental business seems to be located at the airport now. Convenient, but I didn't know of the change & was waiting at least 45 minutes for a shuttle that never showed up. 😡

Although it took awhile to get my car (compact), and it was pretty banged up on the outside and stained on the inside (38k miles) it ran fine and served its purpose. It was also extremely affordable and kept the miles off my lease vehicle for a day trip I needed to make. The return process took about 30 seconds.

Excellent price and customer service. This will be my new GO TO Rental Car place. I have a "membership" with a another rental car company and they could not come close this Payless in value. Great Job.
