Comic Fortress

Great selection of comics and toys! The inventory was a good mix of new and back issues comics of basically every title be it Marvel or DC or even indie publishers. They also had a great selection of toys (in box only) of Marvel Legends, Star Wars Black series and DC multiverse. I also got good customer service, they were very kind to me and made small talk with me and helped me to understand the store's selection.

Oh man! This is a hidden gem in the middle of Somerville if you are visiting the area and like comics and collectibles. Rick the proprietor is a really nice guy who knows the business. Has a few grails that are awesome. Overall the shop has all thinks comics, statues, Funkos, etc. Next time I’m in town. I plan on spending a few hours grinding through those dollar bin boxes. Stop in and look around. You will not be disappointed.

My son is an avid Marvel fan, and this store will become our go-to for collecting action figures during special occasions like birthdays and Christmas. Among the brick and mortar shops I've visited, it has the best selection. The staff is exceptional—they make extra efforts to find comic books aligning with my son's interests without any pressure to make purchases. They also provide recommendations for future visits. It has turned into a great motivator for my son, especially regarding school work. This store is truly a gem that never disappoints.

Stumbled upon this great store walking through the downtown area. This is some store. The people are really nice and Hank was super helpful. His passion for comics and toys was through the roof. I had never seen such a display of cool statue's and toys. They definatly have great collection to say the least. There is a good reason this store has been in business for 22 years. If you are in the area, this place will bring you back to your childhood for sure. Like the Terminator.. I will be back...

First purchase and it was a great experience, I bought online Thanos with this store, everything was very easy and smooth, I had a misunderstood with the order, the shop app showed as canceled, I sent an email to the store asking “why my order was cancelled” and they explained to me right away, letting me know that the item was on its way to my home, in 3 days I got a perfect Thanos in my house. Super happy with this transaction and I’ll keep buying more from Comic Fortress.

One of my favorite small businesses in Somerville hands down! They greet everyone that walk in and the store is very well organized! Everytime I walk in and browse around I always leave with something. The staff are amazing and very knowledgeable easy to talk to and give great recommendations! I highly recommend going here!

Amazing store! So many options! From comics to shirts and figures. I am 50 minutes away in Pennsylvania but the drive is worth it!!

I've visited the Comic Fortress twice so far. The first time was back in the autumn of 2019. I can't recall the name of the woman working at the time, but my friend Ali and I had a great conversation with her about introducing kids to comics and how to keep up with all the event stories nowadays. I visited again on 25 September 2020 and had another great conversation with a staff member about Kevin Smith's oeuvre. Got a bunch of comics I'd been meaning to read as well as a trade paperback. The interior is open enough to allow for socially-distant browsing in these difficult times so it was great to browse a comic shop again for the first time since all of this began. I will definitely visit again when I'm next in central NJ.

Beyond comic books! Their collectibles selection is probably the best in the state. Lots of unique items you can't find anywhere else.

We love this place. Staff is kind, friendly, and knowledgeable. Great with kids. Nice $2 bin selection, and has a selection of 1/2 off comics. Worth a visit. We'll be back.

The best comic book store in Jersey!!! Everything is very clean, organized and nicely laid out with all of their sections labeled and in order. Great DC options and lots of other fun stuff. Super friendly and helpful staff, especially Sean!!! He’s awesome!!! 11/10 recommend!!! :)

Fantastic shop with a friendly and knowledgeable staff. All the new releases plus a large selection of back issues. Walls of trade paper backs and hardcovers & a huge selection of action figures and statues. Whether you're buying or browsing, it's just a nice atmosphere. Been buying from here for years and have never had to question the quality or authenticity of a single thing. I'd give three thumbs up if I could!

I've been coming here since I was a kid growing up in Bridgewater and I love this store. They have everything from comics to merchandise and old school action figures. For example, I recently got my brother a toy that was from the 80's for old school batman. All the employees are super helpful and they can always get stuff in for you. I highly recommend anyone who is a lover of comics and Marvel/DC to check out this ode to everything superheroes 🦸

Great selection of collectables such as Hot Toys, Mezco, Marvel Legends, and so forth. Staff are very welcoming and helpful. I just want people to know to never sell your comics to any comic book shop in general.
