ShopRite of Somerville

ShopRite is a super popular grocery store, and this is one of the ultra busy locations is the area. Compared to other popular chains, it’s clear why: affordable products, big aisles, standard brands including generic labels, and knowledgeable staff.

The strength and weakness here are identical: the location. The parking lot here isn’t easy, and the flow channels cars as badly as the Target/Home Depot lot over in Bridgewater. Like that lot too, they pack as many spaces into that confined space as possible.

So you have this big ShopRite smack-dab in the middle of downtown Somerville, and at peak hours you suddenly feel like you’re heading for the Holland Tunnel. If you know how much downtown Somerville has grown lately, you might guess that the new development is growing around a commercial lot bounded by the train tracks on one side and by Main Street on the other.

That’s why if I have a choice, I drive further to other ShopRites or totally avoid the area during peak hours. Some folks dislike crowded shopping.

I really enjoy shopping at this ShopRite! Staff are always courteous and helpful. One of the staff in the vegetables section noticed I was walking back and forth to look for carrots. He thought I wanted a smaller bag and volunteered to grab them for me at the back. Kudos to the attentive worker! I also love their gourmet cakes in the bakery section. Recently picked up a superb cake named "Romance" :) that is nearly identical to my old favorite Trader Jacques' macaron aux framboises from Trader Joe's (which was discontinued since the pandemic). It was a treat!

A larger Shoprite..we'll stocked eith quality merchandise...even store brand (bowl & basket) very good quality

I like this Shoprite a lot. Great layout and I always manage to find daily deals.

They had a coconut pie I've been searching for for weeks. Couldn't have been happier.

I have to say this is one of the best shopright’s there everyone’s absolutely nice I’m currently residing back in the area, and this is not compared to the shopright compared to the one in Bound Brook

I would definitely go out of my way they treat you with respect and courtesy and are nothing but nice to you and the best part there’s never a long line L0 Al and I have everything from make up for all fresh food, they have a lot of stuff.

These workers are doing all they can to get you out fast with everything going on. Line was wrapped around to the back of the store by the frozen items.

Clean and duuuuuupersupersuper clean! So nice staff and also the donation bin for the sweet little kitties please help fill the bin. I love kittens so much!

Went after a long time and was surprised to find everything i needed for a memorial day barbecue in one store. Good place to get groceries, flowers and much more.

This Shop Rite is a lot better than the one in Branchburg. I use to go to that one, but now I've outgrown it. The Somerville one is better. It's closer, and I don't have to worry about the driving distance.

I enjoy this shoprite. the store always is clean and organized. I like that they don't frequently move a lot around and everything is normally where i expect to find it. awesome to have a great grocery store walking distance from my apartment on main street!

I usually don't go out of my way to rate a super market, but this was one of the nicest and most well laid out shop rites I have ever been to. I will definitely be going here from now on.

I love their new nutrition area. They have a lot more options than some of the shoprites I've been to in the past. They keep things really stocked and pretty clean. People are nice there and the places is quiet and fairly organized. Its brightly lit which is for some reason really important to me. I like the atmosphere and than they have vegan option and do sampling in cheese dept and near dairy section which is interesting at times.

Big, clean and organized. Full of everything and easy to find what I needed.

Love this store. Many times I've had staff go out of their way to help me. I even have complimented at the customer service counter about how good it is, which I never usually take the time to do. Today the woman working the outside floral was so nice. she held plants for me, told me to load my groceries and toddler and then drive up. She gabe me tios on care for the plants. She even carried the plants over to my car after I paid. It was so nice.

Very friendly all around that I gotta say the pharmacy I love Harrow they become personal and they're always there sometimes more concerned than some doctors so my appreciation goes on and on and that's always a pleasure seeing the group... Now as for Walgreens again all the employees are always willing and happy to help never feel like I'm intruding are bothering them and they go full out of their way to find something that even though they might and have it they still want to make the customer happy. This is how I felt since I start going which was about 13 years ago so keep it up much appreciated and by the way the stores always spotless🤙

ShopRite is a great supermarket in many ways. Its like a big neighborhood store, no two are the same exactly each serving the particular communities they are in. I have noticed this and its commendable. Thank you for making us feel special.

The Somerville sr is HUGE. They have so much prepared food of all different kinds. There is a large organic and gluten free section too. Of all of the different grocery store chains, SR has the best baked goods. Hands down better than SandS
