Baghdad Halal Supermarket

Not only is it the place to get condiments and spices (ie., cardamom, masala spices for chai, fenugreek, turmeric, saffron, rose water, etc), but it is THE place in St. Louis for fresh somun bread in the mornings (hot out of the oven!). If you’re looking to marinate meat or make Persian dishes, you’ll find all the ingredients here. Not to mention, if you’re itching to make your own Ethiopian food at home, you can find shiro, berebere, and fresh injera every day.

You can probably find similar items at Jays, Pan Asia, or Global Foods but the bread is definitely fresher here!

The man took us around to show us the best things and was extremely courteous. So many new and exciting things. Fresh pita and huge flat bread like naan. We needed orange blossom water to make Morroccan dessert. Chippewa and grand is my new favourite corner with this place, the Afghan market, the South African market, and the thrift store as well as the International market and the Habitat for Humanity restore (which is getting solar!!)

Most of the time I find what I need on a fair price. The have fresh breads and fresh meat. The owner is so nice and welcoming. Recommend for middle-eastern family and restaurants.

Loved the narrow aisles full of great finds, walked away with some hard to find items. Wished we lived a little closer to stop in more frequent. All the staff we encountered was friendly and helpful.

I walked into to this store yesterday felt so welcome and the person that was working here yesterday around 6 pm was extremely nice, helpful and show me some very nice fragrance he recommended, all their fragrance are oil based and very high quality something you buy from Nieman & Marcus or Saks…….I will be coming more often to shop after the lovely friendly welcoming walking into this store on south grand. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

I love the food and spice selection, Great variety of ingredients that you cannot normally find in regular American grocery stores. Their spice prices are great, and while I didn't get any fresh bread since I was there late in the evening, it looked like they had a good selection.

This is coolest hidden gem of South Grand. Sure it looks a bit sketch on the outside, but inside is like Marry Poppin's bag! It's got nearly everything you could ever want. Fair prices and tons of cool stuff. The workers have been really nice as well.

They have goat meat 😁😁😁 and Arabian oud perfumes and healthy flours! Oh well I found my new African go to store

If you need anything Middle Eastern shop here. They are absolutely amazing! By far the best store and best food quality! (I used to buy things fron Texas when I drove down there but now I never need to worry)

Super nice people run this store and they have wonderful products. They make their own bread and there is nothing like it - absolutely delicious. There's a nice variety of dates and all kinds of interesting food. We really enjoy shopping here.

Finest middle east foods in St Louis. Imports and home grown American products as well. BAMYA (okra) Ali Baba candy bars. Fresh bread afgani, greek, Iraqi breads. Baklava (yum). Restaurant in house for dining or takeout
