Calandra's Mediterranean Grill

Great italian food with authentic pasta dishes and delicious desserts.

We stopped by today to have lunch. Ordered calamari and besides marinara it also came with a sweet ginger sauce that was really good.

We had vodka parpadelle, chicken and mushroom pasta, and grilled salmon. All dishes were fresh, the sauces were rich, and flavors were unique.

Desserts we ordered raspberry mousse and chocolate mousse. Both are delicious!

My partner, our friends and I wanted to try somewhere different for dinner and decided on Calandra's Mediterranean Grill in Fairfield off of Route 46 East as first-timers today. Reservations were easily made via Open Table. Do not be put off by the fact that this establishment is located inside the Hampton Inn & Suites Hotel. It is not a hotel restaurant but rather privately owned by the Calandra family. The atmosphere is reminiscent of Tuscany in color, the tile floors, and an outdoor patio with fountains. Upon entering, one walks into the lobby area, which has high ceilings and a nice, massive fireplace. We were greeted by the hostess and opted for the restaurant. Our server was Lauro. The menu consists of Northern Italian cuisine options with a variety of fish, chicken, steaks, and pasta that is house-made. For appetizers, we decided on one of tonight's specials with Fried Zucchini Blossoms stuffed with seasoned Ricotta cheese and a side of marinara sauce and Caprese Salad (Fresh mozzarella cheese, steak tomatoes, prosciutto, and roasted peppers; finished with EVOO). For our main meal, we opted for several of tonight’s specials, starting with Sautéed Chicken Breast Piccata Style" served in a lemon butter white wine sauce topped with fresh melted mozzarella cheese accompanied by Brussels sprouts and roasted potatoes; Pan-seared Chilean Sea Bass served with baby shrimp, cannelloni beans, cherry tomatoes, and broccoli rabe in roasted garlic and olive oil; Blackened Swordfish served with mushroom risotto; and Gnocchi al Funghi (potato dumplings in a creamy mushroom sauce). Our meal started with a basket of their handcrafted bread and a plate of oil mixed with grated Parmigiana. We had an excellent experience tonight, as the food was outstanding, well seasoned, and delicious. Their breads and desserts come fresh from their own bakery daily. The service was excellent—very attentive and helpful. The price was a bit pricey, but well worth every moment considering we’re only 15 miles from Manhattan. We can't wait for the next occasion on which we can recommend it.

This was my first visit to this establishment, which is within the Hamton Bays hotel on US-46 in Fairfield NJ. We were seated outside, at our request, in a courtyard type setup that has a very nice ambiance. We had a late lunch early dinner, which the menu definitely accommodates. Items ordered were a
▪Margherita Pizza (pepperoni added) made from Baresi tomato sauce, house made mozzarella, fresh basil, Parmigiano Reggiano.
▪Salmon Burger made from ground salmon patty, micro greens, tomatoes, and Sauce Gribiche on a toasted Calandra’s brioche roll.
▪Pollo Griglia which is
grilled chicken, sautéed broccoli rabe, sun-dried tomatoes, and melted provolone cheese on a Calandra’s brioche roll.
▪Broiled Salmon, which was on the specials menu. All entrees were excellent!

Service was friendly and reasonably quick. Drinks were mixed well, and beer was served at the right temperature in addition to the Pinot Grigio. The desert tray will have something for everyone. Items ordered were

▪Custard with Fresh Berries.

Oh boy! It's a great way to top off a really good meal. So, if you are in the Fairfield area, definitely give this place some patronage. I will not be disappointed.

I wanted to send a big thank you to everyone! I had my daughters bridal shower there last week, and everything was perfect! The food was absolutely delicious, the service incredible. And the room looked absolutely beautiful. Thank you for making our families special day so memorable.

Passed this place on the way to PA and it had good reviews so we stopped. Didn’t know it was in a hotel. It is a gorgeous restaurant! Beautifully decorated! Very clean. Food was wonderful! All staff was very kind!! I had the Melanzana Fritta and my dad had the Pollo Milanese. Very delicious! Would absolutely come back here anytime we’re in the area!

Gabby is the best bartender ever she makes the most incredible, specialty drinks is a true professional, and a pleasure to sit with her at the bar!

I cannot say enough great things about Tom and the amazing staff here! We hosted our wedding rehearsal/welcome dinner here and not only is the space gorgeous, but the manager and staff were extremely hospitable, kind, attentive, and accommodating. They were constantly checking to make sure we had everything we needed, and even made a special fresh batch of meals that were gluten free for one of our guests. Our guests, and us, had a phenomenal time here and not to mention the food was delicious! We had numerous people comment how amazing and tender the short rib was. Honestly, everything was amazing and we will certainly be back in the future.

So i have lived in jersey for over 10 years and i have driven past this place for years but never tried it. So my job offered a 30% off discount for here so i decide to give it shot and see what the hype was about. Honeyy honey honeyyyyyy let me tell you something this place is worth all of the five stars. There is a free surface parking lot as it is part of a hotel. We were a party of three and only two had the discount code. But making a reservation certainly helps you get a good seat. We sat right next to the fountain outside and the food came out in decent time. The waitress was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. I ordered the eggplant rollatini and fillet mignon. My other party ordered the fried calamari and lobster ravoli. All the food was cooked to perfection and seasoned well not to greasy or salty. Total bill was $207 then after the discount was applied $191. Ill definitely be back. They also had live music on friday night a guy was playing the piano when i got there.

Excellent service from start to finish. The meal presentation was eye candy. The company of my amazing wife of 33 years and the refreshing dining experience makes for a perfect evening. Compliments to the chef and hats off to our waiter Andres. Extremely attentive and polite

They really did knock it out of the park; service, atmosphere, and food all was surprisingly very good. You wouldn’t expect the quality you’re going to get here. You should go whether you’re staying at the hotel or not.

Carlandra's Mediterranean Grill is located within Hampton Inn and Suites Fairfield. I ordered the Pappardelle Vodka. The vodka sauce was excellent. Nice smooth creaminess with a balance of flavor. The noodles were excellent. The grape tomatoes were cooked yet still maintained their firmness and were very flavorful The dish was very delicious and enjoyable. I would like to order from this restaurant again.

Thank you to Tom ,Jocelyn and staff for great service and great food. We had the pizzas and the fig and Gorgonzola cheese salad. Plus we had the meatball appetizer and the shrimp scampi appetizer. All were delicious!!!

Can we say a Diamond in the Rough. It is hidden in the Hampton Inn Fairfield, NJ Route 46. I ordered the Grilled Ribeye with Grilled Shrimp in a Scampi Sauce with Carrots and Mashed Potatoes.. My Companion had Crispy Chicken Fillet in A Lemon Zest Sauce. Customer Service was very professional, and attentive. Price point $$$$..but don't let that deter you.. A great experience awaits!

I have dined here 4 times this month with different groups of people from work (patrties ranging from 4 to 22 people). I even had takeout to bring home to my family last week. The service is excellent - very tentative and helpful. Always close. The food is fantastic. I could eat just one of every appetizer for dinner and be happy. Ask for their balsamic wine vinegar to go in the plate with the oil and cheese for bread. The ambiance is very nice. You can select inside or outside dining. There is live free music almost every night. It is at the bar which is outside of the actual restaurant- enabling a quiet dinner atmosphere to have conversation.

This place is amazing! Went for a friend's 70th birthday and we dined in one of the five heated Igloos. The food was awesome and the Igloo was beautiful. The lights added a special touch. The service was great. Our server Lauro, made sure we were pleased with everything. Will definitely go again.
