Hunan Taste Chinese Restaurant

There is a reason this establishment was rated #1 Chinese restaurant in the state for consecutive years. There is nothing that comes close in the area to the atmosphere, decor, staff, service and menu. Now for the food..best I’ve had and you will most likely NOT want to eat at another Chinese restaurant besides them.. Every item my family and I had over the years has been amazing. The drinks as are cool as well. Trust me this is the place to dine.

Cam here for the first time and loved it. 30-mile drive, but the food is excellent. We had peking duck gor appetizer, hunan lamb, Mongolian beef, and Sphcy Scallops, all very flavorful and generous portions. Place is pricy but you pay for the atmosphere, great food and excellent service. Hands on owners and great waitstaff. Will drive 30 milles anytime for food this delicious.

Haven't been here in years but the standards are still up to par. I do agree with other reviewers that the man who checks you in is a bit rough around the edges. If he would just greet customers with a smile, we'd feel more welcomed in the establishment. Sometimes 1st impressions are the last.

Mei Fun was tasteless. They brought Curry Sauce and Hot Sauce, but little improvement

Not so often I walk in a restaurant that blows me away before even I see their menu. This place had me when I stepped in. So gorgeous, so colorful, well maintained, the decorations. Only if all other Chinese restaurants were this beautiful. Exterior wise the restaurant is equally beautiful, red and gold building, a water fountain with bunch of huge Koi, green carpet floor with outdoor seatings.

Before I talk about menu, I need to mention their outstanding service, from start to finish, it's professional, fast and efficient.

Their menu is pretty long, with all the familiar popular Chinese dishes. The dim sum items, soup dumplings are really good. Fried oyster were okay. Among entrees, the flounder dragon is amazing. They take the flesh out and serve them in doughs with vegetables. The Hunan Duck is also highlight worthy dish, super tasty spicy sauce, the duck cooked well, soft and moist.

My family had a great time here. We will be surely back to try many more dishes here.

Great experience. Highly recommend stopping by this place. Service is great and attentive. Prices may be slightly on the high side, but that seems to be the norm these days. It’s worth it. I had the Imperial Chicken. It was delicious, cooked perfectly. Crispy exterior with tender and juicy chicken inside. This is a dry fried dish with a spicy dry rub that is well balanced and not over powering. The pepper blend pairs well with the flavors. Spicy and slightly sweet makes for a dish I will definitely not forget.

Hunan Taste was a great vibe, very much of a family oriented restaurant, the food was good. The only thing that disappointed me was the service. The server took so long to come and take the orders. Once the meal came no one came to check to see if we wanted more drinks or anything else needed, at the end I had to stop one of the servers to ask for a to go box and the check. Other than that, everyone was friendly and the food was good!

So I've been here 3 times in the last 6 months or so. It always surpasses my expectations. The food is fantastic, and has a full drink and bar menu.

The service here is so incredibly attentive, I'm often amazed how many staff they have working, I'm betting an average of 15 to 20, in restaurant that isn't huge at all.

It's clean as well as beautiful inside and out. I've found it actually quite hard to find a good sit-down upper scale chinese restaurant that takes service, taste and the so important, cleanliness seriously. Hunan Taste does all these in spades. Fantastic place that you should definitely try. While it can be expensive, it's worth it IMO.

PS. Try the soup dumplings!!!!!

We have been here a couple of times and the food has been great each time. We had 7pm reservations and were seated early. Excellent service and the food came very quickly. Everything was very good. Will definitely go back.

The place has the best Chinese food and the service and atmosphere are great !

My wife and I dined here for date night this past week. It was simply amazing from the decadent delicious food, awesome attentive service, and the out of your mind well liquored drinks (ok maybe everything wasn't out of this world, drinks could've been a little lighter on the alcohol). We arrived before our reservation (which can be made on the phone) and were seated promptly. The inside of this restaurant is absolutely stunning from end to end with so many intricate details all the way down to the place settings themselves. The amount of people checking in on you on your experience and playfully joking about things really kept the mood light. The food was really epic. I got the Dragon & Phoenix and my wife got the traditional chicken and broccoli, both came out hot and delicious. I'd very much recommend coming here for a nice family night out as there were tons of families or just prepare yourself for a date night you won't forget.

Amazing food and they have a traditional Chinese menu. The Hunan Chicken is amazing and has a spicy kick! All soups are homemade and delicious. Great seafood menu as and an extensive drink menu. Also, great outdoor seating area. Always friendly service. Make sure to make a reservation for dinner.

Hunan Taste has excellent Chinese food. Great service and an amazing atmosphere! Love the live fish tanks and incredible decor!

Highly recommend to this Chinese restaurant. Different than any other Chinese food places I ever been to. Food is great. Service is fast and friendly. I will try other food on the menu on my next visit. I tried their seafood supreme. Awesome!

We love coming to Hunan Taste. We visit from PA, it's that good. Though the food and drinks weren't as good at our last visit, unfortunately. The restaurant itself is beautiful and definitely worth a visit. Their menu is extensive, and will be sure to please everyone in your group.

Absolutely loved this place! Visited Hunan Taste for a 7pm reservation on a Friday. We were 20 min early and were seated right away. After 8, it gets crowded so make sure to make a reservation.

Upon arrival, you experience Chinese decor of the restaurant and a koi fish pond. Parking is ample.

The inside is spacious and staff are very welcoming and nice upon arrival and when our party left.

Rice portions are small. Entrees are huge and enough for 2 servings. The drink menu has a lot of options and were tasty. For apps we ordered Crab Rangoon, Cucumber in Garlic Sauce and Chicken Lettuce Wraps. All 5 stars. Will get the cucumbers again next time as it was really refreshing and had the perfect spice. For my entree I got the sesame beef (needed salt) but otherwise it was good.

This place is family owned and the wait staff provided great service. After you finish your meal, you will get heated towels. At this point, I was in awe and this gesture put a smile on my face. 10/10 will recommend!

This place need a 20 star. By far the best place we have ever gone. First the look it was so clean and the detail is unbelievable. Nothing like you have ever seen. It's absolutely beautiful. The pond out front is beautiful so clean and huge fish. The inside is gorgeous takes your into another time. You will be in complete aww trust me. The staff on top of everything from the minute you walk into there they treat you like your someone important. Unbelievable staff so kind, caring and sweet. The food is amazing large portions and the taste is incredible. The choices are perfect and they will customize it for your liking. The price is a can't beat. I figured with the look, the staff and the food it would be expensive. It wasn't at all. The manager are out on the floor helping the rest of the staff. It was awesome to see them work as a team and it ran so smoothly. The outdoor seating was nice to which originally planned to sit but after going inside we had to stay inside. The salt water tanks inside are beautiful as well. I highly recommend this place. Sad we live out of state otherwise we would be there all the time. There was a lot of locals as the staff was calling them by name.

Good food, great service. One of the better Chines food restaurants in NJ.
They have a very large menu and the inside and outside is decorated very nicely. The owners clearly take pride in this establishment.

Wow this place is yummy and the atmosphere is like a 90’s early 2000’s vibe restaurant it remind me of the movie rush hour. The food is truly that authentic Chinese food you are looking to get! Definitely recommend
