I would give 10 stars if I could. I visited for the first time yesterday and the man that helped me was one of the kindest and most genuine person I’ve ever met. We had a deep conversation about life that lasted all of five minutes. It being close to the holidays, the connection was what I needed to restore faith in humanity and get in the true holiday spirit. Needless to say, outstanding customer service. The products are amazing as well🤩

As a new student in the art of sewing, I was tasked with purchasing my first piece of fabric. Never having walked into a fabric store before I was overwhelmed by the rows and rolls of fabric, unable to distinguish between woven and non-woven materials.

I was approached by Mike, who’s gentle demeanour swiftly soothed my overwhelming nerves, as he patiently guided me through the array of materials available for my upcoming project.

Was an absolute delight visiting this store, and look forward to returning again soon.

It’s much bigger than it looks from the outside! Friendly service. They have all sorts of fabrics for sale by the yard, and all sorts of things like zippers, ribbons, scissors, rulers, needles etc - almost anything you may need for sewing.

I've been shopping with them for 35 + years love the quality and variety if fabrics and notions. Great family legacy!

Very kind people, affordable prices. I'm glad I have found this place! I've been a couple times so far and will continue to visit. Lots of nice shades of satin, poly, even some spandex. I haven't seen any linen/cotton gauze (which I enjoy lots during the summer) - however it might just be me not looking well enough 😅

I love this place!!!! The owner Mike is friendly and very knowledgeable. He has the best prices for everything from fabric to notions a very large selection of lace, Rick rack, buttons and thread. His assistant Hassan is great also, he gives you the perfect match of fabric and accessories. He will even make you an outfit without a pattern. Just give him the measurements and your vision, sit back and watch it come to life. He's just that good.

I happened upon this little shop and was so glad I went in- such a friendly vibe from staff and other customers! I only bought under $5 worth of notions, but they were so kind- I’ll definitely be back!

With the gentrification of the area, it's good to see some generational places have not been chased away. I have fond memories of coming here as a child with my grandma, she always, always left happy. I'm glad to see today as a customer, their service and variety is still amazing and valuable.

Small but very diverse and cool selection of fabrics. Very affordable. The guy who assisted me, possibly the owner, was so extremely helpful and lovely. Even know some regulars by name. Can't wait to go back!

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Very important for a nervous beginner like myself. Mike went the extra mile to help and give advice regarding sewing a zipper. Making my first "cocktail dress" and left out feeling more confident than I did going in.

No matter what time of day there's someone always there to assist and they almost always have a positive upbeat perspective. They have a really great range of ready to wear fabric,fashion fabric and more. Strongly recommend.

I definitely recommend this shop! The owner is very warm and inviting. You can tell he truly cares for his customers. This store has a wide variety of fabrics and accessories at reasonable prices.

I had been to just about every fabric store/warehouse in Union and Ocean counties when a friend told me to try Halsey Fabrics. It was there that I found the perfect fabric and the prices were so much better then all the other places I'd gone to. The quality of the fabrics I purchased was also excellent. Even my upholsterer was impressed. The customer service was amazing, as they went above and beyond to assist and for that reason alone I will recommend them to everyone I know and go there from now on. I wish I had know about them before I began my exhaustive search, especially since they are only twenty minutes away! Go there first before you go anywhere else!

What a pleasant experience! Staff was efficient and was able to give recommendations of type of fabric from a picture. I now have a new place in NJ that I can try before going to NYC.

New to Newark and looking for a place to go and pick up some fabric. This place is small for the amount of items they have, but the service was terrific and the staff was not only friendly but very helpful. The selection of items that were available to me was terrific and the staff was more than willing to order something that I wanted if they didn't have it in stock. Definitely a place I will stick with when it comes to my fabric and sewing needs.

Had a fantastic experience. It was my first time ever buying fabric and I have no idea honestly what I'm doing regarding sewing and the gentleman that helped me was patient and found exactly what I was looking for. Would highly recommend going here!

This place is awesome. Their prices are very reasonable and they are very nice people. I haven't been in the store in a long time and I was very pleased today and will be returning.

Beautiful people, great service.. Beautiful fabrics, was able to get exactly what I was looking for from my fav color(deep purple 😁) and the texture.. Definitely my go to spot from now on...
