il Michelangelo Italian Restaurant

Had a family dinner at Michaelangelo's recently and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We were seated outside on the porch and it was lovely. Nathan, our waiter, was very attentive. We've eaten here several times, and the food is always delicious. The owners and staff really care.

Mothers day with Carolyn, her mother Helen, and brother Tim. We had a meal, outstanding service!

I had a Ribeye that melted in my mouth. The bread pudding was delicious and memorable! I loved the Calamari lightly breaded, tender and crisp.

One of the best meals I have had in NJ. Excellently flavored, seasoned, and cooked to perfection (I had the lamb chops al porta). Porch seating was perfect on an afternoon as the sun is behind the building by that point. Full disclosure, I took a bite of the chop before taking the pic :)

I appreciate that the owners were kind enough to ask that I elaborate on my rating. So here goes! (TL;DR: Based on my one visit, definitely would recommend it, even for large parties.)

I was here a while back for a get-together with my family (this was my first and so far only time there); there were quite a few of us (between 10 and 20 if I remember right). The restaurant was very accommodating of our large party and I always felt comfortable. Impressions from others that I spoke with afterward were also positive.

The food itself was, to my memory, very good! It's been too long to be able to speak to any specific dishes, but I seem to remember having some excellent seafood.

The overall ambiance is very nice; small but the space is used well and there is something interesting to see everywhere you look (lots of intriguing photos; I guess a number of celebrities have visited). Even the bathroom was very nice.

In short, based on my one experience, I would certainly recommend this restaurant and would look forward to any chance to dine there again.
Sorry to be unable after all this time to speak on any more specific points, but I hope this helps someone a bit!

This restaurant is one of my favorites. The owner is a gentleman who runs his restaurant the way it should be run. He always comes around to make sure everything is the way it should be and that his customers are happy, and he is very accommodating with reservations. The food is very, very good, especially my personal favorite, the chicken Domenico. Fresh quality ingredients go into all of the meals. The wait staff, namely Nathan, is very efficient and friendly as well. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an authentic Italian meal.

I am way overdue in posting this review, but we had my brothers repast here in Dec 2018 and not only was the service and food incredible, Dominic the owner was so compassionate and caring and made sure that everything was perfect. It was a luncheon, and we definitely overstayed our welcome LOL but the team set up their evening event around the few of us who were left reminiscing about my baby brother and didn't rush us out, in fact they insisted we stay and enjoy ourselves. I can't thank them enough for taking care of all the details and treating us so well. Highly recommend...they have private room with bar upstairs. Perfect for any event.

Great food. Good prices. Excellent customer service. My family has been going there for over 13 years; since it opened and has loved every time. Ambience is nice for a quite dinner with someone or with your whole family.

Attended a Food Demo/Dinner in Sept 2012 and it was great. After Chef Dominic demo the cooking technique the course was served to everyone and Chef Dominic went to each table to discuss/answer any questions the guests had. The place has a very homey feeling and the owners and staff make you feel like you are visiting their home. Nice upscale restaurant in an unexpected place. Great value and definitely a place to return to often.

Food and Service were excellent.. Dominic and his father are always very nice along with the servers too.

Went there last Saturday night with my wife,, We sat outside on the front patio and it was beautiful.. Food tasted great and they had some nice dinner specials..

We also had them cater a small party we were having and everything went Awesome.. Very reasonably pricing and excellent food and help in picking everything out.. All of my guests loved the food.

Celebrated my 70th Birthday with family and friends this past Saturday. There are not enough words to describe our wonderful experience! Food as always was amazing and service outstanding! Looking forward to going back very soon. Thank you!

Best authentic Italian restaurant around. Had an opportunity to meet and speak with the owner. Very personable. Gluten free menu. They cater to your every need. Can't wait to go again next time I'm in town.

Outstanding food, fine wine, excellent service. Eddie, our server, was super professional, knowledgeable and helpful.

The calamari was the best that I've ever tasted, and the homemade Bread Pudding was fabulous.

Excellent food ...excellent service...started upstairs for a drink before dinner..nice chat with bartender..downstairs for dinner and the staff could not have been more attentive ..from refilling the water glasses, the absolutely delicious crostini, and wine as well. The owner made several stops at our table to make sure we were enjoying everything...we have been coming here every year for special occasions and will continue to do so ..love this place

This was our first visit to Michaelangelos and we are looking forward to returning soon! It was delicious. We started out with the fried calamari. It was crispy and done just right. For dinner I ordered the shrimp siciliano. The flavor was outstanding with a delicate pink cream sauce over thin cooked perfectly pasta. My husband ordered the veal and I think he wanted to lick the plate. Just kidding- the restaurant was way too refined for such a display -LOL. We came with 3 other couples and everyone really enjoyed their meals. At the end Dominic greeted us and gave us a little history of his restaurant and thanked us for coming. All in all a special night. Good food , pretty atmosphere with good friends. See you soon Dominic.

Just had my retirement party there. The food, staff, service was exceptional. The private room was perfect for the party of 22 people. The room is separate from the restaurant which is really nice during the party.

Excellent food and fantastic service. Everything was tasty fresh and made to order. I’ve never seen better service every server was super attentive and helpful

What can I say? Dominic has created a jewel of a gathering place here! The food is just ...mwah! My favorite dishes are the rice balls, the sea bass, and the homemade gelato !! Yum, yum! The tagliatelle is yummy as well! And they are very accommodating to dietary needs. The food is fresh and high quality. We have catered from Dominic numerous times and have never been disappointed. This is a very kind and decent family here! It's a warm and welcoming, relaxing atmosphere and we always feel welcome! Enjoy!

Excellent food! Everything is excellent every time we are there. They catered to our family's celiac disease, with delicious appetizers everyone can enjoy. A little expensive but well worth it.

Lucky for us it was restaurant week. We detoured off of I-287 and came here.

We had the Seafood Salad and Chicken Michelangelo as our entrees. Calamari as an appetizer.

It is a nice restaurant with a family atmosphere. It was busy for a Sunday. The service was attentive. I look forward to stopping by again.

Food is absolutely fantastic. Fresh and delicious. Went for lunch and the lunch specials are spot on with portion size and price. Absolutely delicious and cozy ambiance. Highly recommend!
