New Start Consignments

Stumbled across this small but super awesome consignment store with my sister were in town for a stroll. We ended up buying so many beautiful pieces of jewelries that have easily became our favorites and for such great prices too! The store owner, Thomas, showed us all the gorgeous jewelry pieces. The store is so clean and organized. All pieces seemed carefully curated and with love and care. The jewelry, bags, and shoes alone are in such great conditions and I am so in love the styles.
P/S: Shout out to Thomas who became our new best friend. He is one of the most fabulous and charming people I’ve ever met! He’s so good at what he does and we will definitely come back.

This store is so much fun, so neat and clean and organized. Selection is great and I always find something or things to buy each and every time. Thomas always greats you with a friendly hello and great jokes and treats you like family!! A must visit in the cute town of Somerville!!!

A GEM 💎tucked away on Main Street. The owner is friendly and helpful, the store is well kept and organized. While I wasn’t able to find what I was looking for Thomas recommended me to a store that had what I needed. It’s great to see such a strong small business community. I’ll certainly be back in the future.

I came to this store with my friend and we loved that we could purchase designer handbags, sterling silver, and gold jewelry for a steal! The owner was very personable and knew a lot about the items he was selling. Definitely a great place to shop!

I stumbled upon this Consignment store after going out to lunch. What a wonderful surprise! The store is organized and offers quality new and preowned Women’s and Men’s merchandise! I bought a beautiful Michael Kors bag at a very reasonable price. The owner of the store loves what he does and it shows. He’s personable and knows his stuff! Fun music played throughout and I really enjoyed the shopping experience. I definitely will be back as I love what I bought. Owner is very personable and funny. He has fun music playing and his store is always clean and organized. He always has a great variety of seasonal clothing new with tags and/or gently worn at a great price. This shop is in beautiful down town Somerville. My favorite thing to do on lunch is stop in and shop.

This is a discount clothing store with only high quality items. I bought several shirts months ago and still wear them daily, as they are very high quality (way more than I was expecting at the price point). The owners are very kind and accommodating - the only thing you will need to ensure is that you are there during open hours. But it's very worth it! The selection is more limited than, say, a department store - but instead of digging through isles of duds to find something good, you can bet if it is in your size here that you'll love it. Very well curated.

This shop is amazing!!!! I travel around nj for work and stop at all kinds of consignment/secondhand stores and New Start is my favorite! This is a must-go destination for any thrifty shopper! All my favorite brands are there; Free People, Anthropology, Johnny Was and so many more in amazing condition! And everything is extremely fairly priced- finally a shop that’s not overcharging! The owner is so friendly and welcoming, and he’s very honest. He mentioned how sometimes he’s not able to be open full store hours, but he gave me info so I can check if he’s open on the days I wanna come! It’s totally understandable since he’s running everything himself. It’s still an awesome store!!

WOW! That really captures the entirety of the greatness that this store has to offer! I am so happy I found it. I've found many items at a lesser price that are brand name, but not only that - that are QUALITY! If I could buy every item in this store, I would. The amount of beautiful pieces that are in here are countless - from the clothes, to the shoes, to the bags, to the accessories, to name a few. I am blown away by the beautiful items in this store. The owners definitely have an immensely fashion forward approach (plus they are delightful and good hearted human beings). This store has so many options to select from that you will not want to leave. Be prepared to buy lots! And the beauty is you can, bc the prices are affordable. Thomas treats you like best friend, and with Alvin by his side behind the counter, well, it's just magic! Whether you've known him for a day, a year, or a decade, it's like you never left the store since your last drop-by. His selection of clothing, shoes and accessories lure you in every time you visit. You'll leave with a giddy attitude and a bag of feel-good stuff for your wardrobe. I promise! It's irresistible!

I've been shopping at NewStart Consignment for years. Thomas and Alvin are friendly and outgoing with a fun sense of humor. Thomas is a sharp business man and he is honest. When I visited his shop after about a year he bought to my attention that I had store credit which I completely forgot about. He has quality items arranged in an organized fashion.

New Start is a fun little shop in downtown Somerville that is packed with beautiful items. They have some of everything! I have been a customer for many years and have always enjoyed going there. Thomas runs a really nice business and he is a pleasure to deal with.

Super clean and organized! Everything in this store was in pristine condition. I didn't see any clothes with marks or damage. Some of the nicer stuff was even put in garment bags. Fair prices for the condition of the clothes. Check this place out! Also the young man at the computer, not sure if he is the owner, was very nice and seemed like he put his heart into running the store . Just a thought, a more modern front logo sign and display would draw in more customers.

Everything about NSC is wonderful--Thomas especially. He is so kind and welcoming, he remembers every name and every face, and every price and transaction is fair. I have been a customer/contributor for years and he has just been amazing since the beginning. Whenever I am back in town, I try to bring in accessories for him to sell--those are what bring in the money!! To compare his store to the big consignment corporations--they will give you the lowest price for your items and will only take pieces that are in style right now. You get cash up front, but it's not ever much. Thomas knows what sells and what doesn't, and gives you 50% of the sale
price thatgoea into your own personal account. There have been many occasions I have gotten large checks! If you are in the area, you need to get over to NSC!!
