If you like hills and views, this hike is for you! Great hike up along a babbling creek with the reward for a 40ft waterfall at the top. It was beautiful. It is steep and some of the trail you’re scrambling over rocks. 3.75 miles round trip and about 2 hrs.

This is a beautiful hike. It starts with switchbacks and then turns to a moderate hike.
Depending on your hiking speed and the time of year, plan on approximately 90 minutes to get to the waterfall.
If you choose to go in the winter, be sure to wear your snow grips/ice cleats. Hiking is doable without them, but much easier and safer with them.
Also, if you go during the winter, pay attention to the bridge (at the time of writing, the bridge is iced over - we had to hike beyond the bridge to climb across fallen logs to cross the river). So, in the winter, be prepared for inconveniences and hazards.

What a beautiful trail. The trail only gets better as you go higher. The bottom is a sand switchback, then you reach the trees and follow the stream. The sound of water flowing calms your soul. The upper waterfall is amazing. The only thing that was challenging was the crowds of hikers. I enjoy solitude more. There is a small camp ground about half way up. If you have ropes the upper waterfalls has rappel rings and bolts. Enjoy!

The waterfall at the end was beautiful. There was a lot of snow on the second half of the trail (it's April), but the slippery climb was worth it.

We went with three kids ages 5-11 and we did not even make it to the Lower Falls, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. We stopped at the bend of Bonneville Shoreline Trail, where it goes over the creek and turns South. As you can see in the videos and pictures, it is a beautiful, flat area with some parts where the water rushes through, making it very pleasant to sit on tree trunks, listen to the water, relax, and enjoy nature after the hike up. Consider bringing water shoes since the rocks are pretty sharp (especially for kids).

The first portion of the trail (the zigzagging part) is pretty steep, so beware if you want to go with little ones. It’s doable, but it’s not the most fun to do with children (also, there’s no shade). The views of the valley are breathtaking and we found some critters, plants, and flowers on the way up and down.

Despite the initial challenge, it was a fun and beautiful outing.

Intermediate hike, with kids expect 3 hours up. If you're an experienced hiker you can make it to the top in 40 and back down in 30. Give yourself at least 20 minutes at the top for the waterfall!

Switch backs are by far the hardest part, they're at the very beginning too. After that you get under the canopy and the hike is cooler and enjoyable!

This was an awesome adventure. I started the trip with the intention of fishing in the canyon. So I hauled 25 pounds of extra gear I didn't need. Fishing in this area would be better first of spring when the water levels are higher. Enjoy the trial and the hike. No worries about getting lost on the path. Take it from me, I could get lost in a Walmart. I will be going back, it's just too pretty not to.

Very nice trail, took me and group of 3 others about 3 and half hours but we spent a while at the waterfall. The switchbacks at the start are brutal especially in mid day heat but not too bad, the trail gets "easier after that" still a lot of elevation gain on very Rocky terrain but lots of tree cover. Waterfall at the end is worth it

I love this trail. It was my first time on it, and it was amazing. Only thing is, when you get further up the trail, you have to scramble, but other than that, it is amazing. The view of the waterfall is worth it, period

Got to spend a few short hours hiking the snow packed trail up to the falls. What a beautiful hike. Definitely not too arduous, but there are a few brief sections with a lot of fall or climb. In the snow, be prepared to hike with spikes or to fall/slide down a lot of the trail. Such a fun experience.

This trail, I especially enjoy it because it's always changing. It's so beautiful in different ways each time.
A bit steep, some places you need to go slow, to stay safe around the river.

Even if you don't make it to the waterfall, it's a beautiful hike.

Very nice hike. Once you are past the switchbacks it's all in the shade. Dirt is hot for pets on the switchbacks in the heart of the day.

Love this hike. Not too difficult and fun to hike alongside the river most of the time.

Beautiful hike, trail was not really marked well, we were hiking to the lower falls but wound up going all the way to the upper falls. The trail started off with some sandy switchbacks and then opens up on top of those, then drops down into the creek bottom for the rest of the hike. Apparently the lower falls are to the right as you get to the opening past the switchback’s. We started around 9am and finished around 2 pm and the final mile was brutal due to the heat. We were glad we had plenty of water and the dogs had plenty of creek water to cool them off. Trail was rocky and a lot steeper the last mile or so. We took our time and completed it👍

It is a level moderate hike in my opinion. Going up took us about 1.5 hours. We stopped for a lot of pictures as we hiked in mid-October and enjoyed the beautiful fall colors! The leaves were beautiful! The water was still flowing pretty good at the time we hiked. Lots of little kids and families on the trail. I suppose I need to up my game as I’m a 30 something year old using hiking poles and these little kids were in converse shoes holding gold fish crackers and doing just fine! Ha! But coming down only took us 40ish mins or less. It’s a super quick descend. Overall it’s a great hike with lots of shade.

I love this trail. I usually walk this trail, but I did a jog few days ago and I liked it even better. It have different sections, some are just straight and easy, other steep and a little challenging.

I'm not too comfortable running on snow, in my opinion the best time to go is between Spring and Fall. Because of altitude it can be pretty cool some times and it get very very hot on summer, it's good idea to be prepared.

Have in mind that you will find some high drops sections during the trail, just in case you take your kids but is mostly easy. I did it with my 6 year old and he loved it.

It can take you from 45 minutes to 1hr with minimal rest to get to the Waterfall.

This is a very popular hike for good reason. It has great scenery during all 4 seasons, the views of the valley can be spectacular especially at sunset, and the waterfall at the top is worth the effort.

The hike is moderate skill level. It isn't technically difficult, but there are a few steep climbs and some rocky areas that could be challenging for children. It starts with several sandy switchbacks. These are not terribly difficult and you get a great view after the short climb to the top.

Once you're into the canyon, the forest canopy blocks your views of the valley and the scenery changes into visas of trees, rocks, and streams. You will follow the picturesque creek along the path as you ascend to the top. This area is stunning in the Fall with the changing colors of the leaves.

The top 1/3 of the hike is the most challenging. The path gets rockier and steeper, but the waterfall at the top is worth the effort. For experienced hikers, this is not a difficult hike. Less experienced hikers will find it more difficult than expected, but completely achievable if you take your time. Depending on fitness level and the speed of your hiking, it is about 40-60 minutes from bottom to top.

The area is known for rattlesnakes, so be aware and watch where you step, especially if you wander off the main path. I have also seen tarantulas in late summer evenings.

Very fun and somewhat challenging trail toward the end. The last mile will test your hill climbing abilities. Make sure that you have proper footwear and it shouldn’t be too bad.

The waterfall at the end is a delight and a great spot for a photo.

The round trip takes about 2:30 hours in general if you take only a few short breaks.
