Cara Mia Restaurant

I love this place. I've been going to it's original location in Queens Village for many years. The food is fantastic. They offer large family style portions and prices are reasonable. The staff is great. Some of the waiters have been serving us for the past 11 years. We were happy to see that they went to the new location in Floral Park. The restaurant itself is very nice. I always have the Chicken Cara Mia. My husband enjoys the Veal Sorrentino and our son changes his dishes at every visit to try all on the menu. The mussels are great, the penne alla vodka is so good. We truly enjoy their food. I highly recommend.

We tried Cara Mia’s new location in Floral Park last night. The food was amazing! I totally forgot to take pictures of the apps because we were so hungry. Definitely worth the wait on a Friday night 😋

The food was amazing, service was excellent and prices were even better for the portions we got. I'm not Italian but I know good food when I eat it. The bread was nice, fresh and soft, calamari was the perfect amount of crispy and the pasta was a perfect texture. The wine was also a fan favorite. I live an hour away and would drive back with no hesitation.

The food here is great. We started with the half dozen baked clams. The sauce in it was delicious. Great to dip your bread in. I ordered the calamari Fra Diablo. It was a big portion. The sauce was medium spicy. The food was great. The service was good. I would definitely recommend it for great Italian food.

We've been coming to this restaurant since 1984 & continue to do so due to the down home service & food quality. The menu is diverse, the drinks are generous, and the desserts are decidently delicious.
Make a reservation & go early if you don't like to wait for a table, but no matter what you choose to do you'll love this place.
The new location in Floral Park has all the charm of the 1st location, but with more space.
Tonight's chopped baked clams, lasagna, penne ala vodka & veal picata were only upstaged by the top flight creme brule.

The food is delicious and good portions. The staff is friendly and attentive. The service is fast. Good dining atmosphere and a family friendly vibe. I have been going to Cara Mia's for over 20 years. My family and I celebrate many occasions there aswell as regular dinner and lunch dates. Highly recommend if you are looking for delicious homestyle Italian food!!!

The pasta is always cooked fresh and my lasagna was perfect.

The red sauce is so good and its not like some resturants where the red sauce gives you heart burn.

The sauce is perfect. The bread came out warm and toasty for the table. The service was also very good.

I absolutely love the mango martini and would recommend that.

Average cost for 2 people will probably be over $100.
If its packed it will be VERY loud inside so if your looking for a quiet place this isn't it.

Outdoor seating could use some work to enhance the decor or vibe.

Went there with a group of six friends... we all showed up one at a time over 30 minutes window, and the cara mia staff made us all feel welcome and somehow got us our entrees all at the same time. Simply... service was the best.

The food was outstanding. Crispy and tender fried calamari, hot mozzarella sticks, and special crab and shrimp topped baked clams.

Entrees ranged from the Shrimp Fra Diavolo, spicy vodka cavetelli, to the Cara Mia Veal... and of course, a side of Nonna's meatballs

Definitely need reservations during dinner hours most days of the week, but especially weekends. Otherwise, get there before 6 or after 830, but they close early.

We celebrated my wife's birthday here. The place is very nice... the service was great and the food is excellent!! The fried calamari is one of the best I have ever had! The portions are very generous and the prices aren't too bad either. Definitely on our "go back" list!

This Italian restaurant was a gem! We came to celebrate a friend's birthday and the food and service was amazing! I had the gnocchi with mushrooms, which was out of this world. This is definitely a place we would go back to.

I had the chicken pizzaiola. The sauce was fresh and the chicken tender. The service was good and it was nice having the chef coming to the table seeing how everything went

This place is, without question, some of best Italian Restaurants in the NYC area. They moved to a new location, which is in a charming neighborhood. The staff was wonderful. They treated our 9 year old daughter and her friend as adults. Great service. The food is beyond amazing. The best broccoli rabe you will ever eat.

I support all restaurants that are staying alive during these bad times, and my heart goes to those that unfortunately had to close.
Cara Mia in Hillside, What a nice restaurant! I ordered the pazzo salad, which means “the crazy salad” and realized on my first mouth full that the hot and cold vegetables in combination with the green leafs and 3 different cheeses made me crazy for more! Followed with their minestrone soup and thereafter pushed for their fresh house cannoli. I was content and happy that I was recommended to visit this establishment and can’t wait to be back for their traditional dinner menu.

Food is consistently great. Love the pasta figoli soup, chicken parm, meatballs and stuffed shells.

Update: just tried their Chicken Capri to-go. PHENOMENAL. All the components came separately, which I loved! Everything so fresh and crisp. Since everything came separately, nothing was soggy and it traveled well. It was big enough to share between two people. I got rigatoni with garlic and oil as the side. For something so simple, they really executed it well. I reinforce my 5 of 5 stars! Cara Mia never disappoints.

I recommend the Sunday special of meatballs, spicy sausage, and short ribs over Rigatoni and the stuffed mushrooms.

THE BEST ITALIAN FOOD. FULL STOP. The quality of the food and drinks is superb. Best I've ever tasted. Items are made fresh on the premises, including the desserts, which is [chef's kiss.] The drinks at the bar are also perfect. I mean that. They're the gold standard of the drink. (Try their French Martini!) The staff is awesome, and the prices are reasonable. Great Italian food, but sadly no pizza. The locals LOVE the place... You will too!

Though the location has changed, the food continues to be excellent, the service superb and the ambiance warm and inviting.

Terrific food and service. I had sausage and peppers with penne. My wife had the flounder special. Both excellent. The atmosphere is a little noisy for our taste but probably not for most people. You won't be disappointed.
