McGregor Elementary School

Low income neighborhood needs more funding

I give this school 3 stars. My son attended 1st grade during the 2016-17 school year, with a wonderful teacher who no longer teaches at McGregor Elementary. My son loved his teacher, and though we enjoyed our experience with his teacher, the main office afternoon secretary wasn't the most pleasant or helpful person to interact with. I also had a few situations where my son had been hurt on the playground and I was not informed until my son told me himself. These all turned out to be minor injuries thankfully, but none the less an injury to the head or altercation on the playground that results in a trip to the nurse should always be a phone call home to the parents for an update. There was often times where my son had situations with other students while eating lunch, where it seemed that the teachers/lunch staff were not paying enough attention to what was going on. I will say on the upside, my son enjoyed his music and art teacher. The school also offered plenty of after school activities for family nights and we loved the spring concert that the first graders put on!

IT SUCKS my son literally broke one of his bones because the teacher was not helping when he told her he was getting bullied the students arnt good neither are the teachers but if your in 4th grade I prefer mrs.moon

The secretary is extremely hateful. I've had a lot of kids in foster care, and this elementary is the most unhelpful. This is one of the worst elementaries in Springfield.
