What a great little hiking spot! Really cool walk to the lighthouse, with amazing views like you're standing in the middle of the river! Dog and kid friendly I had a great time with my family. Took about an hour round trip! Beware of high tide, the trail might be underwater so be prepared.

Cool place to check out when visiting Catskill. It's an easy hike but certain areas has the black spikes so I was carrying my little fur baby. Very nice scenery so be there before sunset so you have enough light to go back bc there's no electric lamps on the path. As I was leaving I ran into one of the residents who has been living there with her family for almost a decade. She describes it as a different way of life and you can experience it by booking accommodations through their B&B website. It just seems so cool, I may book a night or 2 next year just to get the experience.

I highly recommend taking this walk to the Saugerties Lighthouse. Bring lunch and enjoy the beautiful picnic area. We even spotted a seal!

We took a chance and had our son in his stroller - We were successful, but it was admittedly a little challenging. We managed to get through a muddy spot and a few other obstacles. Using a carrier would be easier, especially since some spots are known to flood. I'll take my own advice next time!

A gentle nature walk leads to a spectacular setting - a square two story brick building with a light-tower on top, sits on the first of two bridge-connected islands seemingly in the middle of the Hudson River. Weekend visitors can see this from the onshore platform/dock. Weekdays the islands are accessible to visitors.

Great spot! Love the views of the Hudson and the lighthouse and the marshy vibes. Check the tide schedule on their website before to make sure the trail is dry!

Unusual estuarine park. Don't ignore the tides! Boardwalks over marshland. Good kayak destination at lighthouse end. Open all year, just past coast guard station

A beautiful easy nature walk which ends at the confluence of the Hudson River and Esopus Creek. It also ends at the restored historical Saugerties Lighthouse which has a lovely deck overlooking the Hudson with great views. Good place to see the sunset. Open year round. Dogs allowed on leash, though well behaved dogs may play off leash on the beach when the tide is out.

It was a nice walk to the lighthouse. Many types of frogs were croaking, the few beaches had sweet dogs playing in the water. The paths and bridges were well maintained. It was lovely!

Nice walk. Definitely wear appropriate footwear for swampy, muddy, sandy terrain. The trail is nice, but it is very wet. We couldn’t get to the lighthouse due to a VERY large puddle.

Historical and off the beaten path, great view of the Hudson River. Wear shoes that you dont mind getting muddy (due to rainfall and rising water levels)

Awesome trail. Beautiful lighthouse with stunning views of the Hudson River. If the tide is high you must walk through water to reach the lighthouse. Very doable. Great for afternoon lunch so pack a sandwich and your water shoes.

This is a very cute, short walk to the Saugerties lighthouse. The trailhead is well marked and parking is pretty easy. I went on a Saturday and there were quite a few people. It was an hour and a half after high tide and the ground was barely wet. Plus there are boots you can borrow which is a great touch. The lighthouse itself is picturesque.
