I took time off to clear my head and get to know my city. The Queen Museum was a perfect choice! I was able to see four noteable exhibits (a)the geoengineered water system for NYC (b) Tiffany lamps (c) the layout model of new york city (d) and our young artists exhibition. I really hope my videos do justice to how much fun it was

I’d been wanting to visit the Queens Museum for the longest time — particularly to see the Panorama of the City — and today, I finally did. I can happily say my expectations were more than met.

Including the Panorama, there are only a few exhibits currently open, but that’s alright considering that getting in only requires a suggested donation. That’s not to mention that the other two exhibits, a model of New York City’s water supply system and a collection of Tiffany glass / lamp shades, are quite impressive in their own right.

All in all, definitely worth a visit for anybody, but especially if you’re into NYC history.

The Queens museum is a wonderful free museum that has one of the best kept secrets in NYC. The panorama of the entire city of New York is absolutely stunning and unbelievably massive. The temporomandibular exhibits were very interesting but we spent more time in the panorama than anywhere. The weather did not cooperate for us to explore the park around the museum much but the Unosphere outside is also FAR larger than I was expecting which makes it far more interesting! Highly recommend checking it out! It is a bit difficult to get to via public transit so I'd recommend using some form of ride-sharing service or driving your personal vehicle.

Was pleasantly surprised that this museum had an art station for my girls (age 3 and 4) to make their own piece of art inspired by the artist on exhibit. Very nice spot to spend a couple hours, with nearby park and surroundings that are also scenic and historical if you want to get your culture on.

As a free museum, expectations are low. But Queens Museum goes above and beyond. Their collection is fascinating! I’m so happy I visited this gem in NYC. I’d never heard of this place, and I’ll definitely tell people to check it out!

This was a wonderfully emotional experience for me as I attended the 1964 World's Fair as a one-year-old child (at least my parents tell me I did and I've seen photos of me in a stroller at the fair!). The NYC diorama was especially dear to me since I vividly recall riding the tram that circled the original site during a school trip to Flushing Meadows Park when I was about six or seven years old. I particularly remember the airplanes that would appear to land and take off at LaGuardia Airport and was so thrilled that this functioning feature has actually been preserved m in the current diorama.

The museum though not extensive, has many souvenirs and other artifacts from the 1964 World's Fair on the second floor as we as a topographical model of the NYC watershed that's also from the original Fair.

Admission is free but I put a few dollars in the donation box on the way out. It was well worth all of the nostalgia and warm emotions that this visit evoked in me!

Great museum, learn about the world’s fair, see a scale replica of NYC, and view a rotating collection of art! Very spacious and there was plenty of parking when I went on a winter weekend

The Queen's Museum is located in a beautiful park which is lovely to visit especially during Spring when flowers are blooming. The admission is free which I appreciate, and I also appreciate the land acknowledgment to the indigenous communities. The museum has a significant history as this was where a number of decisions were made by UN members such as partition of Palestine and Israel, the creation of UNICEF and the division of North and South Korea.

You can see a miniature version of New York at the Panorama City of NY exhibition which was created in the 90s. It's interesting to see that the World Trade Center is still there, a historical reminder of what the city was. There is also contemporary arts exhibition featuring recent artists as well as Tiffany Lamps. They have a gift shop and a quaint café overlooking the park if you want to have a quiet day people watching after.

Wow what a cool free museum in Queens. This museum has a panoramic of the entire New York City which is super cool. They also have Tiffany lamps and glass from the manufacturing plant. It was such a cool museum. You could easily spend 1-2 hours here if you wanted.

What a fun museum. Free parking & admission. The Panorama is so detailed & a ton of fun for all ages. I spent an hour inside. The lights go from bright to dark to mimic day & night over the city. I highly recommend coming here. It's fun & educational. Cute giftshop too.

Love it, can't wait until they finish the rest of the new additions.
Friendly staff and clean, a lot of the rooms are under constructing but it should not deter anyone from visiting.
They have a very cool detailed map of NYC boroughs and Tiffany's glass and lamps and how it was made.

Absolutely amazing free museum that is well worth a visit if you’re in the area. While the museum seems very large on the outside, the inside only contains a few exhibits but each exhibit is very spacious with a large interior area to relax and soak in the ambiance.

The highlight of the museum is the fully accurate model as presented in the world fair. The Panorama of the City of New York was presented at the 1964 Fair and it is absolutely amazing. You can still find it some buildings that haven’t changed since 1964 and accurate to this day. There’s even small airplanes that fly and land.

Great place to visit. Make sure you get a ticket ahead of time, there are time slots but, the good thing is that the tickets are FREE. The museum is very informative. There is plenty of free parking on either side of the building. The bathrooms are clean inside of the museum. There is walking on your self guided tour. There is a gift shop. There is a Snack bar but, it is currently closed. There are vending machines on site. There is an information booth when you enter the front doors, also it is where you check in.

There really are not enough words in the English language for me to adequately express my gratitude to the staff at the Queens Museum in Flushing Meadows Corona Park and how they made the class trip for my college students a tremendously successful and fun educational experience. All the exhibits were interesting, and the Panorama of New York City has to be seen in person to really be appreciated. I highly recommend the Queens Museum if you are an educator as it is especially welcoming of groups of students of all ages. I guarantee you and your group will have a memorable experience at this museum in the park.

If you are a true New Yorker, you must visit this museum (which is accessible for free via online reservations) and visit the core attraction which is the Panorama, which was part of the 1964/65 World's Fair, a mini version of New York City which has a small scale model of every building in the city (last updated in 2013, it pays homage to the original WTC complex). You can access the original Audio guide from the 60s via QR codes and hear how the city was shown to visitors at the time. Another cool detail is that the lighting changes over the course of a few minutes so you can see the city at "night" with highlighted parks, a mini sunrise of sorts and then the city in full daylight. It's a fun experience to find your apartment building or house. (Tip: Use Highways as a guideline!) , Then you have the rest of the museum, which in mid September 2022 had parts under renovation so it seemed off limits. You have almost a whole floor dedicated to the 1939/1964 World's Fair and see tons of souvenirs and objects from both fairs. If you are a history geek or just a New Yorker it's well worth a visit... 🍎

Amazing place, it’s worth giving a visit. The miniature of the New York City is wonder in itself, there are other modern art which is worth a visit.
There’s a globe behind it and it’s worth getting a picture there.
Queens 1930 world fair is well documented here.
