A place of silence, where the soft music in the background creates a serene atmosphere, inviting visitors to immerse themselves in the intricate details of the unimaginable sculptures on display. The museum's history and origin are as fascinating as the artwork itself, making it a must-visit destination for anyone interested in art and culture.

This is a single artist museum (sculptor Isamu Noguchi 1904–1988) and a peaceful zen sculpture garden in the Long Island City. It opened in 1985, established by Japanese- American artist Isamu Noguchi. Some of the benches, sculptures were made from the 75 year old ‘tree of Heaven’ that was the center piece in the garden until 2008. The gift shop was filled with calming music and aroma. The tour was very helpful in understanding the artist’s abstract art work.

Pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this museum. Worth the trek from Manhattan.

Spent a little over an hour in the space. Also spent some time in the garden after- would recommend sitting and enjoying the space after you walk through everything!

Went late after on a random Friday in August and it wasn't crowded at all.

Great sculpting icon, the museum is near and dear to me. First visited in college, I believe the Asia Society had a bus in from Manhattan. Slight walk from the N-train is well-worth the experience. MTA buses are also in the area. Recently, they opened space across the street for special exhibits, too.

The Noguchi Museum is one of my all time favorites. It easy to forget you are in Long Island City when you are inside. In addition to the installation of Noguchi’s work in this transformative space, the curation of the exhibits, wall texts, and written materials transport visitors provide crucial context and history. Everything is so well considered down to the lounge area with film reels playing. Rest is so important in a museum- especially one so dense with experience and meaning. The visitors staff puts this museum at the top of a must visit list. From the front desk to gift shop and throughout the galleries, everyone was so welcoming and knowledgeable, (and, quite frankly, charming!). This is unique for a serious art space, in my experience. They were even kind to me when I brought my 5 yo kid. I highly recommend visiting this museum.

This is a fascinating museum. example of one man’s journey to become the artist inside. we took the tour, and it was amazing to hear his life’s journey. The space and the art in proper context explains a lot about this type of work.

A completely fresh take on what a museum can be. I recommend the free hour-long guided tour around the property. The spaces are divided in "Areas" and one can follow them in order to understand and experience the artist's vision. There is a lovely shop where you can buy postcards and original Noguchi designs. The museum has affiliations with many organizations for free entry, eg. ICOM and AAM.

For those moments when you crave inner peace, this is the place to be. The zen garden works its magic as you stroll along the pebble-strewn path. And if you prefer, simply sitting by the expansive window, basking in the sunlight, can do wonders to brighten your mood.

Fantastic gem in LIC! Much bigger space than expected. Noguchi is much more than paper lanterns - lots of beautiful stone sculptures. Gift shop and zen garden are also highlights!

Beautiful museum! Love the sculptures! The visitors were quiet so it was an enjoyable experience for all visitors to view the exhibit in a quiet space! The garden was beautiful and tranquil! I enjoyed sitting out there and listening to the birds and even saw a squirrel! The gift shop was a visual treat too! The shop was filled with really cool things to purchase! Had a wonderful visit here. Would definitely love to visit again!

WOW def orth the easy trek from Manhattan! Thoroughly enjoyed a peaceful Friday pm here inside and outside in the garden. Impressive and budding custom museum built around Noguchi's remarkable sculptures with nature's elements. Museum attendees are respectful and quiet. ENJOY!
TIP: Take the museum tour, even if you don't do the whole hour+ it is very informative. We had a knowledgeable and interactive group with Qs and participation, thanks to JOE who gave us a phenomenal tour. Friendly, very passionate and kind answering all our Qs thoroughly!

Beautiful, VERY aesthetically well organized museum. Honestly a must-visit for anyone interested in art, sculpture, or design.

One note -- the gift shop isn't great for souvenirs, its more of a specialty arts and crafts shop

Great place to bring family and friends

Very nice very clean positive atmosphere

Many different types of people

A big crowded on the weekend. Was tricky to take pictures without people in the shots
However we did arrive at a good time , around 3:30pm by the time we were leaving 4:30 it got a bit more crowded and a line was forming outside

Would like to go again during the weekday when less busy

Overall great experience and gave me tons of design ideas

Very beautiful museum with great Japanese inspiration! Really loved all the sculptures and origami. The whole place was tranquil and relaxing. There was a lot to explore and it wasn't too cluttered or confusing to navigate. Highly recommend stopping by for some culture!

A lovely meditative experience full of stunning sculpture in an environment that lets you appreciate it. The majority of the pieces don't come with plaques which leave you open to interpret their meaning and place within the space.

The museum, for one that has a small footprint, is surprisingly large inside. It took about an hour to go through the exhbits and it is well worth the trip.

The staff is very professional and friendly. This is a quiet museum that I had kept missing when I lived in the neighborhood. Should have visited sooner. With the Bloomberg Connect app, you can read the guide on your own device in your own pace. I can see the simplicity in the art influenced by Japanese culture. Also loved the garden. Suggest go in the late evening so that you can enjoy day/night view of them.
