Brine Barrel

Brine Barrel is my exact favorite kind of shop. Most places try to offer a million and a half different things and do most of them okay.

Not Brine Barrel. He does like 10 things, and they are all fantastic.

The pickles will absolutely destroy anything mass produced. You don't know what you are missing until you have had hand made small batch.

The pepper shooters are absolutely must-try. An explosion of savory salty flavors.

The sandwiches are good quality, and really well thought out on how much of each ingredient they have. He cuts the more expensive cured meats thick which makes a huge difference to the texture.

The place is great. Give it a shot.

Finally had a chance to stop by last week. Picked up a container of half sour and dill pickles. Pickles were delicious and so much better than store bought ones.

Brine Barrel a must try. Park right in front of the shop. Matt is really nice. He keeps busy makin those sandwiches!! The sandwiches are top noche!! Highest quality meats and cheeses. The pickles and olives are amazing , half sours are my favorite. Matt the owner also has Sweet hot Horsradish which tastes amazing on homemade Burgers!! I drive 45 minutes to eat lunch at this place when I can. I usually get the Pastrami on Rye, with swiss and thousand island dressing lightly toasted. Ohhh man it is to die for!! Matt also has a menu filled with specialty sandwiches. Including the old world. The old World is my husbands favorite!! The italian sub is both my daughters favorites and he makes a mean plain Bolgna and cheese sandwich for my little guy 5yrs old. He doesn't skimp on the meats. Garlic Stuffed olives and olive Tapenade a kind of Olive salad that is great on a lot of things including plain ritz crackers. 😀 When ever we host parties or picnics we get party platters from Brine Barrel including the Pickle/ Olive platters!! The Pickles EVERYONE LOVES!! Gotta try Brine Barrel if you are in the area. Check out the website for dates and times the shop is open. Seasonal hours and dates change. Just go!!!

Now with Apple Pay! and a Square terminal. We wore masks last time we were here, did not this time. Amazing sandwiches, small menu, quality pickles and chips, what more could you want? Beloved by locals and these tourists a like.

We were in town for the weekend & found this shop on google maps - Popped in and tried Old world and Pastrami sandwich and both were amazing. Great sandwiches and pickles!

Really exceptional horseradish pickes and regular sours. We had the potato salad too which was beyond average by a lot. Saw the guy make someone else a sandwich and it looked pretty delicious too. Next time!

Was on a road trip and stopped here by chance. So glad we did because the sandwich was too die for. The homeade sauces especially the garlic mayo was absolutely delicious.. would recommend to everyone and anybody in the area. The potato salad was equally unforgettable.

Exactly what an Italian sandwich should be. Fresh bread and everything in perfect proportion. A+

Amazing subs! Brought a few on our hike and they were the highlight of the hike! The Old World Italian was top notch and the bread is perfect!

Service was quirky, but Italian sub, garlic dill pickles, and gorgonzola stuffed olives all excellent!

Excellent, carefully crafted subs, loved the sesame bread and the quality meats and cheese. Washed it down with pickles! Can’t wait to try all the menu items next time we roll through Saugerties.

The best sandwich I have ever had. The Old World Italian is my favorite. It's not piled high with way too much meat and cheese like delis will make, etc. Perfect amount of everything. Prices are fair. Pickles are awesome!

I got my first sub 3 days ago and have been back everyday since! If ur in the mood for a great sub don’t waste your time or money anywhere else.

My wife and i stopped in based off of a Google review and our location ....we were very happy with our sandwiches and pickles!

Great little store, tucked away in the side streets of Saugerties NY.
Father’s Day weekend 2020, we found the Brine Barrel out of desperation, 3 months into covid, nothing was open. We returned this year because of how fantastic it was. The sandwich’s and pickles are amazing. The Old World, is out of this world, I’m a paisan from Long Island and this is one of the best Italian Heros I’ve ever eaten. My wife had the Chief Turkey which was pretty dam good as well.
The sweet horseradish pickles are a must. And this year I dabbled into the potato salad, which was equally as delicious!

The brine barrel is not much on the outside. Hell, it's not much on the inside! But I have literally never had a better sandwich. Ever. I recommend the Italian sub. Get some pickles while you're there, I can eat them for days.

Great cold cut selection and a delicious selection of pickles. I love the stuffed banana peppers with sharp provolone and prosutio. The stuffed cherry peppers are great too. Try one their subs, delicious.

We rolled into town around 3pm and most places were closed. Picked up sandwiches, chips, and pickles for the whole family for less than $40. Delicious!

Great sandwiches, sauerkraut, pickles and olives. Order ahead because Bob may be busy, especially at lunchtime. Basic deli, sandwiches, chips and drinks, that's all you need.

Great hole in the wall deli. Owner is the Ron Swanson of pickles! Best Italian hero in saugerties!
