My favorite record shop to date. Such a vast variety of records and things. Not to mention the best part about visiting here is seeing the infamous little adorable buttercup the cat which is the mascot of the shop. So i get awesome amazing finds, cool patches and buttons for my battle vests and jackets, seeing an adorable little baby,i could keep going on but im just about to leave for there now. Oh and they also have the greatest staff, live shows, and awesome t shirts and stickers as well as some odds and ends. DO NOT miss this shop of you are in town close by or are looking for something to do. You will not regret it I didn't. One of the best thing I ever did!

This place is great. A great selection of albums, friendly staff and fair prices. They have an awesome selection of new and used. No more searching through thrift store record bins that have nothing but Andy Williams and Bill Cosby albums. I recently bought a set Edifier bookshelf speakers at a great price and I’m very happy with my purchase. If you have any interest in vinyl records either as a causal listener or a music aficionado this place is worth the visit.

I love this place! Everyone who works here is so helpful and fun to chat with, the record selection is excellent, and the space is clean and well organized. I even found a vinyl that was pretty tough for me to find anywhere else! Great place and great people!

Such a fun way to spend an afternoon browsing through well categorized vinyl albums, enjoying the cover art and the memories. Prices are much better than Amazon's. We've bought several albums there and all have been in tip top shape. Yesterday for the first time we bought one that had a lot of pops in it so we took it back and they took it back, no questions asked, even though we'd lost the receipt. Super nice staff, too. Very cool place.

I've now been to Black Plastic at least 4-5 times in the past few months. It's a really great little joint. Some quick highlights:

-Good blend of new and used (separated which is nice!)
-Restocks come fairly frequently
-Welcoming owner and team
-Good space to move around when browsing
-New items are priced fairly
-LGBTQ+ friendly

I'd say really the only negative is the parking lot is small and used by 3 shops. Not their fault. I just recommend hittin' them up on a weekday. 😊

Keep up the great work!

Black Plastic is a wonderful quirky record shop like the ones I remember back in the day, the staff are knowledgeable and can offer music options that suit anyone from Zoomers to Boomers. They have a very good used vinyl selection and their new record section is strong. Especially in contemporary indie /alternative-rock . If you are passing through Cincinnati Ohio and you're a vinyl record aficionado, then do check this shop out.

Recently got a record player and have been exploring all the record shops within an hour drive - most of them have been a bummer.
This one by far has been my favorite. The selection is great, organized and the staff was friendly. I found so many record options to buy AND a sick sticker for my helmet!
I think I've found my go to shop!

Great record selection with a cool atmosphere. The new record bin always has good stuff to discover. Occasional live shows, manga, and a neat vintage t-shirt selection means there's something for everyone.

It’s worth making the drive out. Their new arrivals section for used records has some gems. Had to leave before I got my wallet into trouble.

BPR on Glenway has quickly become my favorite record store. This place has the best selection of new and old vinyl without being too overwhelming like some of the older shops. I can flip through four or five stacks in a few minutes and will always find at least a few albums I’d like to own and always for a very reasonable price. Also every record I’ve purchased from them regardless of price has been in great shape. They always let you know on the sleeve if it sounds rough.

All this isn’t even mentioning how friendly and helpful the staff is. I came in with my one year old earlier this Summer (I chose BPR due to the fact that they have the most child friendly setup with wide aisles and not a lot of items low to the floor) and the lady working the counter, I wish I could remember her name, was happy to keep my daughter entertained while I flipped through the stacks. She let her crawl all over the place, gave her a junk record to play with as well as a little toy rat and then took a bunch of pictures of her for the store’s social media. It made what could have been a very stressful experience (if you’ve ever tried having a record collecting hobby with a toddler you know what I’m talking about) into a memorable and fun experience and I still got a couple decent Sinatra and The Doors records out of it.

All in all the best record shop around, can’t recommend them enough. Also I went in on Black Friday and they had home made cookies. What is there not to love?

Incredible place I didnt know existed until recently. I can spend hours in here looking around. Whoever is working the desk is always pretty cool and helpful. Lot of really good finds in the boxes in the back if you have the time to look around. One of my new favorite vinyl places.

I walked into the store and the smell of paper/cardboard covers, vinyl records magically transported me back to the early to mid 1980's... WOW...

The manager get's "it" and is super friendly, we conversed about good music and he pointed out a few newer selections he just got in for the week. Again I had that nostalgic feeling I was a teenager standing in my favorite record shop about to blow his allowance for the month on a few records I had been dying to find or listen too.

INCREDIBLE,,, you must stop here and if you have some old vinyl to sell he will buy them from you as well... or even trade them...

I can't say enough of how wonderful this store made me feel being transported back like that the entire vibe of the store is magical.!!!

Some absolutely great customer service from the younger dude working there. Big thanks to him for having a record brought over from their other location for me to pick up that day. Great overall selection and a really awesome space to have on the West Side of Cincinnati. Looking forward to going back soon.

Nice place for used vinyl. Good prices and variety. Their hours are posted as 12 Noon-8PM. I've been there a few times at 12 Noon and they have not been open. Gone back at 12:30 and still not open. So maybe if you go wait until after 1. But it is worth a visit.

I love to dig through crates of random weird stuff at this place. There's also a little stage in the back where local bands occasionally play. The people who work at the store are also involved in the local music scene if that's important to you.
