Absolutely amazing experience!

The overall composition and vibe of the salon is very relaxed and inviting. Almost immediately I was greeted by the receptionist Jeremy, who offered to take my coat and prepare me a nice warm drink. I was taken back on time for my appointment and dived into some nice conversation with my stylist Taylor who did a stellar job.

She made an effort to listen and offered suggestions for me based on what I needed for my curly hair. She did not try to upsell me on products I did not need and really helped me feel understood in my hair goals. Taylor does an excellent job at creating a conversational atmosphere with her clients and avoids confusing jargon to describe services. She did a great job working me through creative ideas for new things I wanted to try with my hair. In addition, she was very informative whenever I asked questions and didn't make me feel stupid for having those questions.

Her work speaks for itself I believe (see pictures attached) , I came in expecting a simple cut and wash and the process was made to feel much more important and significant then just a haircut. I can say 100% that I left the salon feeling a lot more confident and happy then I did walking in

Overall I cannot recommend this salon enough. The staff is professional, not stuffy, and conversational, and the salon fosters a welcoming environment that caters to both new clientele and existing clients. I will definitely be back!

What an absolute gem in Akron. I followed my stylist here a few years ago from another salon in Akron, and I'm so glad I did! It's certainly not the cheapest salon around, but with good reason. Their stylists are talented, they KEEP their stylists (very little turnover, which is a great sign of good management!), and the vibes are always giving. It's relaxed but fun, professional but personable. Even the front desk staff are just the best! Thanks everyone for making a middle aged mom feel welcome and beautiful in a trendy downtown salon, lol!

I absolutely loved my experience at Mint Hair Collective! I felt so comfortable there as soon as I opened the door. Everyone there is so kind and approachable. Lauren gave me one of the best hairstyles I have ever gotten! I was even treated to an unbelievably delicious caffeine-free, sugar-free latte for my drive home! What a wonderful salon and staff! I absolutely adore this salon! The atmosphere is incredibly welcoming, and the staff is beyond friendly. Not only did they work wonders on my natural hair, but they also took the time to educate me on proper care. The genuine suggestions for products were helpful, and I appreciated that there was no pressure to buy. Bonus points for offering fantastic tips on managing my kids' natural curls, as well, when I mentioned I wasn’t sure how to properly manage their hair.

Kaitlynn has cut my thick, long hair several times over the past year. I trust her with my length and layers and she is always open to discuss what you'd like. I actually drive almost an hour to see her and visit this salon because she and everyone working here is so warm and inviting.

I’ve been growing my hair throughout college and I’m not super experienced with curly hair care. I let it get out of control and really needed a cut/freshen up. I didn’t know where to go in the area, but Mint had good reviews. Taylor did a fantastic job with my curly haircut + wash. She explained everything very well and immediately understood what I was looking for.

However, this business isn’t cheap. Expect to pay 60 give or take for a haircut + wash before tip. If I still had my short hair routine of a haircut every 1-2 months, it may have gotten a bit too expensive for me.

Like I said though, my haircut and service was great. They will make you free (tasty) lattes and give you samples to take home of any products they used. There is also a referral discount system for your next time back which is very welcome.

All in all a great experience, I will likely be back.

Love this salon! As soon as you walk into waiting area a good feeling washes over you. It's always so beautifully decorated! Taylor Roberts has been my go to gal for the last 3+ years now. I have had many poor experiences in the past, that it took me a very long time to be able to find someone I could trust to even touch my hair. I have known Taylor through mutual friends for over a decade and have always felt this connection with her prior to any services just solely based on the beautiful caring aura she radiated as a person. It is what drew me into taking the leap of faith to reach out to her for some much needed TLC for my hair. From day one, Taylor made me feel right at home in her chair, a warm welcoming and heard not only as a client but also as a human. Over the years I have fallen in love with my hair again. I look forward to my appointments and by the time we are done, it’s therapeutic. I have recommended Taylor to other friends and I have never heard a bad thing about this talented gem. 11/10 would recommend 🩷

Everyone does their best to make you feel comfortable and confident while you're there and I always look forward to getting my hair done! First of all, I like the general look and feel of the salon and appreciate the positive energy and “you matter” messaging. Nice touch, plus their receptionist makes great Lattes!
My stylist, Taylor has been a great find. Great skills, ( love that she uses a razor to texturize my hair ) plus she’s very knowledgeable, detailed and genuinely nice.
Would highly recommend and I’m really pleased to have found this place!

Holly did such an amazing job and all the staff was so friendly and made you feel at home. It’s not your average salon, they have it put together so nice in there and feels so welcoming. I was so, so impressed by this salon after just my first visit. The girls are all so kind, regardless if they're the one servicing you or not. Taylor absolutely crushed it and earned my trust in only a few minutes of talking through what I wanted. I appreciated getting an outline of what she was going to do across the entire appointment, and she hyped me up super hard which made the final reveal so much more exciting. Will definitely be coming back, can't wait!

Mint Hair Collective is the only place I trust to touch my hair. After several bad experiences elsewhere, Helaina made all of my hair dreams come true. The atmosphere is laid back and welcoming, the stylists are all super friendly and hilarious, and the location of the salon is really convenient. Plus, Mint uses brands that I trust most (Amika and Verb primarily!).

I've been going to Mint for a very long time and I can't say enough about how amazing it really is. Each service I've gotten has been done so well, I love my results everytime. Each stylist is so sweet, and are always open to conversation. The services and the people are great. I love Mint!

I can't say enough great things about my experience at Mint Hair Collective. My stylist was Erin, and she was so friendly and listened patiently as I told her all of the things I liked and didn't like about my hair. I came in for a warmer/softer balayage, after having really stagnant grow-out, and she did such an amazing job making it look so natural. We just moved back to the area and I loved talking with Erin about hiking trails, local coffee shops, etc to try out. The person at the front desk (sorry, I didn't catch your name!) made the most amazing apple spiced oat milk lattes while I was there and I felt so relaxed and pampered the entire time. The staff were all nice, the interior design of salon is so welcoming and cute. I'm so glad I made an appointment at Mint!

I love Mint! Kaitlynn is a magician and I've never loved my hair more. Don't go anywhere else!

Taylor did an amazing job on my hair and she was fun to talk to during my session. They’ll even make you a latte while you wait. Best hair I’ve had.
