Mumford's Potato Chip & Deli

First time here and we loved it! For about the same price as fast food you get a fresh, quality sandwich, their famous kettle chips & a pickle. We were surprised by the many menu options. My wife got a chicken salad sandwich (she loved it), I got a reuben. The corned beef, dressing, kraut & cheese were exceptional. I opted for wheat bread in order to get the larger sandwich, next time I'll stick with the rye. Also, the sandwich is steam heated, my preference is grilled, but it was still awesome. Service was great - friendly & helpful. We look forward to Mumford's being one of our regular go to places 🙂

Mumford's is great for lunch or dinner. The steak bomb sandwich is my favorite and I also like getting their cheesecake! Plain cheesecake is $3 a slice or $3.50 for cheesecake with topping. They sell Coca Cola drinks there along with orange juice, Snapple drinks, and coffee drinks in the coolers. Stop in ! 👍🥪🍰😋

I love stopping in for lunch @Mumford's. You might have to wait in line for lunch but just be patient. They have good sandwiches, chips, cookies, and I even got their cheesecake for dessert. Will be back ! 👍

What can I say other than it was a great meal. I got the Chicken Bacon R‹anch and it comes with the sandwich baggie of mumford's homemade potato chips and the sliver of pickle! A big variety of sandwiches and salads whatever you may want to eat that day for a pretty decent price. I definitely recommend it!

This has always been my go to. I always have to stop there when I am in town. Being out of state, it is something I look forward to when I'm visiting family. Love the ladies behind the counter and the environment. Always have to take a bag of their famous chips with me back up state!

We love going to Mumford's in Urbana. The food is fresh, the service is great. I had the steak bomb the last time and it was delicious, it really looked like a cheese bomb went off so I loved that. We will be repeat customers.

I grew up on this restaurant only place I know other than a spot in springfield that steam presses their sub? What do I mean by that, they have like a panini press, but instead of grilling it steams it. Once you get your sandwich you have a sandwich that oozes the cheese out, you will not find a sub like it.

Edit 12/9 had 2 ham and Swiss delicious as always, I couldn't tell you how many sandwiches I had over my lifetime 🤣

Stopped by this little gem while out of town and now I wish this place was closer to my home. Not sure if this is family owned but it definitely had that feeling to it, grandma was in the back directing everyone in the kitchen. And you know when there's a grandma in the kitchen the foods going to be awesome and that it was. They make their own kettle chips that you can buy in bulk and they had a great menu with great prices. If you're anywhere near this place I highly recommend stopping in for some delicious comfort food.

They have great sandwiches! We ordered the Hoagie and the Reuben. Both sandwiches were fantastic! We ordered deli salads as sides instead of chips. The macaroni salad and pasta salad were both good. Lots of sandwiches to choose from or build your own. Definitely recommend if you are in the mood for a good deli sandwich.

Haven't been to mumford's for 30 years. The only thing that changed, is they're not making their own potato chips in the corner. Same good value and great taste. Thanks for supporting Urbana!

Great local spot with a lot of history, highly recommend if you are in town. The sandwiches are good but my real love is the potato chips!

THE place to go for sandwiches. Steamed and Delicious! Keep it simple and get there early. Tends to back up at peak times.

The sandwiches are great, the chips are awesome! The atmosphere is nice, clean and plenty of locally made items to purchase.

We were on our way to one of my granddaughter's gymnastics tournament. We just happened to see this restaurant and stopped for lunch and all three of us my granddaughter my son and I liked it. It was like a home-away-from-home lunch. The people there were very nice. The price was reasonable. And their service was quick. We looked for them on the way home but it was too late to eat dinner. We were all sorry for that. Anyway I recommend this restaurant to anybody that's around there. I would give them a 6-star if I could

We stopped here on our way through town and were pleasantly surprised. The sandwiches were excellent and made to order. All ingredients were fresh and very tasty. The staff were very friendly and the place was clean. They also have various local items for sale, which is nice. Will definitely go back!!

One of my favorite places for lunch. Mumford Kettle Cooked chips are a historic thing in our area. They have a fresh deli with subs and a small gift shop with some rare gifts. I make sure I stop and get lunch once a week lately.
