Big Apple Cafe

We ate here for our first time on 6-30-23 at about 930am in the area frequently and had a half hour to kill. I'd been craving a small town, cafe, feeling, and ironically found it in the "Big Apple Cafe," tiny and limited seating, but cozy and welcoming.

Prices were incredibly cheap, food and service both incredibly quick. We were seated, ordered, and ate within thirty minutes. The staff was very friendly, and one thing I'd noticed was how incredibly hard they were all working. Literally, non-stop, miminal chatter. We were absolutely impressed at how a table was clear and reset within minutes. These employees work, and it shows.

Food came out to perfection. Some of the best French toast I've had.

My wife and I will be back often. Very recommended for breakfast, and as my wife said.. "Since when do you like breakfast?" , since The Big Apple Cafe!

My girlfriend and I love this diner it is a very friendly, quick, tasteful and well organized. We have gone to all three but this location is the closest. First the staff is great, you can tell they are all working hard and moving around to get everyone situated as fast as they can. I have never had a bad or mean server before just high quality servers from them. Second the food not only comes out within a timely manner but it tastes AMAZING. I believe that our food took approximately 11 minutes to come out too us. I dont know what they cook with but they have the secret recipe. So come visit your local Big Apple Cafe and get some food.

Absolutely delicious! The corned beef hash is top tier, my girlfriend and I had an amazing breakfast. Second time coming and many more to come, extremely friendly staff. Very home feeling place, would 100% recommend to anyone.

Great breakfast, just needed a Bloody Mary. They don’t serve alcohol.
Servers were so nice.
I’ll eat here again the next time I'm in Newark.

Great down-home family diner. Fast, friendly service. Always have a great breakfast - try the eggs benedict, you'll be glad you did! Reasonable prices too.

Cheapest but good breakfast in a long time! My husband and I ate for less than $25. Wait staff was great! They never stopped working. Atmosphere simple but attractive. Highly recommend!

Food was good, Portion size could be larger for the cost. Waitress was nice and attentive

No frills breakfast joint. Waffles looked great. Wish I had gone with an omelet instead of crab Benedict because I have an allergy to egg yolks and think omelet would have been better choice considering. Food was prepared perfectly and the staff couldn't have been faster or more attentive. Very reasonably priced as well. Great experience.

Good quality food at very reasonable prices. They were busy, (9:30 am on Black Friday), but the wait was reasonable.

Best breakfast in Newark or Heath! Perfect CYO Omelet, Hash and eggs, and the Crabcake Benedict was yummy too! Loved it! Also had the grilled cheese from the lunch menu with a side of fries... best grilled cheese I ever had💗 They also have some cream puffs, I got the peanut butter one and will be back for more.

Was visiting from Los Angeles California and I was recommended this spot by some locals so being a foody I had to try it out. Great friendly atmosphere, good prices and the food was fresh hot and had good flavors.

Our first trip here was a pleasant one. The staff were all friendly, followed Covid protoccl, and very quick to serve and check on us. I ordered pancakes with blackberries and was pleased with the flavor and quality.

Love finding highly recommended local spots when we travel, and this one did not disappoint. Good service, good breakfast, good prices! Fluffy scrambled eggs and pancakes. Bacon cooked how we requested. Would definitely return.

Unbelievable, fantastic. The SIGNATURE french toast was to die for. The crab cakes were very dense with crab meat, flavorful. Probably the best breakfast cafe/diner I've stopped at in my travels. To top it off, the bathrooms were clean and plush with roomy stalls and pristine fixtures.
