Shaker Heights High School

Shaker has a phenomenal school system, and Shaker Heights High School sits at the helm. To this day I've never seen another school with a Planetarium? Growing up in Shaker, I never appreciated how great it was until I graduated, moved across the country, and traveled the world some. I then realized how terrible so many public schools are in so many cities and states. In my current city of residence, Shaker would undoubtedly be a private school with a tuition that could easily exceed $20k/year. I now understand why so many Shaker grads move back when they're ready to raise a family. Kudos to everyone who contributes to keeping a great thing going!

I am a 2010 graduate and Shaker developed me to the person I am today. Because of being in the amazing marching band, run by Mr. Pocaro and co., I traveled the world for the first time, and have not yet gotten rid of the travel bug. Shaker creates for students the most unique perspective on life, and has a niche for anyone to call home; from fine arts, to sports, to advanced sciences (planetarium wooh!) Shaker Heights High School will teach it to you. Thank you for what you provided me.

I'm a 1986 graduate of Shaker Heights...I treasure my experience here because of the quality teachers and diversity of the student body. I learned how to be a critical thinker and to appreciate the arts. I still attend football games and feel welcome as an alumni.

Honestly a big step up in quality from the middle school. The teachers are passionate and great to get along with. The wide range of programs helps every student specialize in and choose a major for college. Preparation for college is excellent and worth the effort. The only small, insignificant
detail that MUST be fixed or removed is
the
freshmen
class.
