Evelyn's Coffee & Banh Mi

Very cool spot in downtown Akron in the Basement of an old office building. Cool atmosphere and plenty of seating. Vietnamese coffee is very different and very good. Drink it slow so the ice can melt and dilute the strength. Sweet too. Very good!!

A quaint little mom and pop shop that serves consistently good food and coffee. I’ve eaten everything on the menu here, but my absolute favorites are the Kimbap and the Korean beef Banh Mi! I’m a transplant from Seattle and it’s nice to have a spot with Korean food so close to my work. I have to laugh at some of comments from folks saying the workers are unpleasant - the folks here are just as nice as you are to them, and I’ve never had anything but delightful conversation. Santhee and Demi are hilarious and lovely!

I don’t often make reviews but this place is worthy of one. Came here with the family and ordered their Korean Beef Bành Mi, papaya salad, kimbap and Vietnamese iced coffee and OH MY GOSH. The bread on the sandwiches 11/10 like better than jimmy johns iykyk. Papaya salad looks plain but PACKED with flavor and so good put on the sandwich. The coffee YA’LL so rich with flavor this place is so good and the prices are SO reasonable. Definitely coming back was watching other people’s orders and those look good too 🤤

Checked out this awesome now Mom and Pop place in downtown Akron. Tucked into an unassuming corner with free parking off to the side, this is a cute little coffee shop that specializes in Vietnamese coffee, sweet, strong and creamy. They also have traditional coffee items and pastries as well as some authentic southeast Asian street foods like multiple varieties of Ban Mi sandwiches. My favorite was the chicken meatball but we also enjoyed the Dac Biet. There was no jalapeños in the sandwiches, but I didn't miss them.

Taro milk tea with Boba was creamy and delicious, not too sweet which I appreciated. Papaya Salad was delicious--crunchy tart and and refreshing. We also enjoyed the Vietnamese salad, and actually enjoyed putting it into our Banh Mi's. My kids went to town on the Boba tea.

The staff were polite and professional and hygienic precautions were followed. There is no sit down dining for now but they say that they will open it up as the pandemic hopefully lessens.

Overall this is a great place, priced right, locally owned and cooks who are literally like little Vietnamese moms and dads. Well worth a visit! I wish I lived closer.

Nice coffee shop with a welcoming interior and interesting fusion menu. Vietnamese and Korean dishes available. I tried the special báhn mì. These sandwiches are served warm, which is a nice change from the traditional morning sandwich. Also overstuffed with ingredients for a nice value, but borderline bloated. Layers of meat left me full after half because of my báhn mì expectations. Everything is clean inside with fresh ingredients.

Absolutely love that I found a place in Akron that sells Kimbap 김밥 and Banh Mi. I feel like Akron doesn’t have much variety and soo happy I found this little spot. Vietnamese coffee is one of my favorites as well. I ordered online since I work downtown, I was a little late picking it up due to my job but was still amazing and ready when I got it.

My favorite lunch spot in Akron. Relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff. I've visited a handful of times and sampled a decent amount of their menu and enjoyed it all, but I keep going back to the Lemongrass Banh Mi and Vietnamese Iced Coffee.

I love this spot! Lots of great drink options and tasty food! The service was great and I really liked the artsy vibes. Its a comfortable place for lunch or grabbing a drink.

A low key quiet coffee spot in the basement of a building. Looks quaint and was quiet. I had an Americano that didn’t disappoint.

Excellent place. The Bahn Mi and Kimbap were very good as well as the coffee beverages offered there. Prices are appropriate and it has a nice atmosphere!

Stopped through in an off chance for a late morning coffee and was pleasantly impressed by everything about this place. The service was straight forward and thorough and the coffee did the trick. Will definitely be back! Highly recommend

Got the Vietnamese iced coffee, lemongrass chicken Bahn mi, and vegetable dumplings for lunch. Also got a tiramisu latte to go. All were absolutely delicious and the food was very filling at a very reasonable price. I will absolutely make this a regular stop!

The Dac Biet Bahn Mi was absolutely incredible - fresh, flavorful, perfectly balanced.

The. Iced. Coffee. My goodness. INCREDIBLE! Honestly, I think the Vietnamese Iced Coffee I had today may have been the best iced coffee I have EVER had. Such a strong coffee flavor without being bitter or acidic, and just a tad sweet.

The vegetarian dumplings are air fried not deep fried which is awesome… so flavorful & tender.

Great prices, wonderfully friendly staff.

So excited that there is finally a Korean, Vietnamese place. Finally something local. I got the Taro Milk Tea, Lemongrass Beef Banh Mi and Kimbap. The milk tea is perfect and not to sweet. The kimbap is decent but can be more flavorful. The banh mi is really good! Portion and price is reasonable especially for a college student like myself.

Would definitely go back and try everything else on their menu! It is a really nice place to hang out at.

Veggie banh mi is so SATISFYING and tasty! Vietnamese iced coffee is always a great treat too. I love that I can be in and out quickly, spend under $15 and have a whole lunch with a drink and a cookie. My only complaint is that they're not open later!

I enjoyed walking over here after work to grab lunch! It was my first ever banh mi sandwich and I can't wait to come back to get another. Their kimbap was also very tasty. The shop atmosphere was very welcoming, they had lots of fun potted plants.

Amazing sandwiches. We got the Korean and dac biet banh mi. Perfect bread and awesome ingredients. I’m a bigger fan of fresh jalapeño rather than the pickled, but that’s just me.

My only complaint is that I don’t live closer. This was top 5 sandwiches lifetime.

The banh mi dac biet was amazing, love having a place like this so close to home! Their space is super cute, can't wait to see it fully utilized postpandemic.

I eat here an embarrassing amount, to the point they recognize the name on the slip of paper so when I walk in, they don’t even have to talk to me. But they do! They’re always very kind and welcoming.

The food is ridiculously good. I’ve had all of the Banh Mi and narrowed my favorites to the Dac Biet and Lemongrass Beef. I’ve explored the drink menu some and enjoyed everything I’ve sampled. Not to mention that they’ve always been great about substitutions based on my dietary restrictions and taste preferences.

I can’t recommend Evelyn’s enough.
