Great experience hiking around Sabino Canyon today. Amazing views. Started up Phoneline trail, then came back down Creek Trail. Took around 3 hours hiking over 5 miles through the mountain. It's definitely the most popular hiking area we've visited, due to so many trails available. If you love the desert, this was a great moderate hike

This is such a beautiful recreational area and is kept very clean by their awesome and helpful staff. This part of the Sabina Canyon also offers a 3.7 mile, about 1.5 hours long, tram ride which makes nine stops for other hikers to get on and off! All in all, this area is quite popular for all ages, so expect a crowd! :)

Gorgeous park with approachable trails for all skill levels. We spent 3 hours hiking and could have easily done more. I highly recommend!

One of the coolest things we did in Tucson! When we arrived parking was easy and cost $8 for the day which can be done at a self serve kiosk. We then did a short hike and decided to take the tram up the canyon because we have little kids, and I’m so happy we did. It’s 1 hour round trip and you can hop on or off at any stop if you want. $15 per person and kids under 3 are free. I feel like we really got to see the landscape and all the cactus looming over the sides of cliffs was spectacular. I highly recommend this ride and park!

Simply mind blowing. Came in early to ride the bike on the main path (you can only do that before 9 am) then did one of many trails available. Stunning views and changing landscapes seemingly around every corner. Go early and you will have much of it to yourself

We love Sabino canyon! Visit every time we are in town. There are dozens of trails in the area and it changes all the time. You have an option to buy a tram ticket to take you up canyon and walk back, walk the road or take a trail. This visit the amount of water in the stream was very high, over some of the bridges. That was a novel experience.

Nice area for a short or long hike..you choose. There is a parking fee or the National Park pass will get you in for free. There is a shuttle that charges a fee per person that goes throughout the park.

Lovely! No vehicles allowed. People hiking or riding the $15 tram with headphone. We went in March when the rains were still coming so there was water in the streams.

Apparently, this trail is a success story of a failed government project. This would explain a double lane paved portion of the trail going to the canyon.
I suggest you arrive early, like really early. Even in the off season the parking lot gets filled up fast.
Another suggestion - take a side trail that runs alongside the paved portion. You will be rewarded with a quiet and more intimate experience with nature, observing deer, rabbits, roadrunners, quail and many other animals that otherwise stay unnoticed.
Also check out the weather patterns to know what to expect for the time of the year you are going to be visiting.

Took the electric tram to the end of the canyon then walked back having to get our shoes wet at the upper crossings. Lots of baby saguaros growing. Fun day!

Great place for photography, hiking, and trail running. Very popular place.
Lots of water in the winter and spring months. Almost dry as a bone during the summer.
There are plenty of trails of all difficulty levels, and a tram for those who just want ride.
No dogs, plenty of restooms and a few picnic areas with tables.

Whether you are visiting or living in Tucson area , Sabino Canyon is a Must go to. A very lovely place for hiking, going for a short walk or cycling. The scenery will make you speechless. It's paved so it's Handicap accessible. You can buy the bus ticket and take a tour or use the bus if you are tired of walking from any of the bus stops along the hike. There are several rest areas .
One of my top favorites to go , definitely worth the drive

Breathtaking, you can take the main trail where there are lots of people, but plenty of places to jump off onto other trails and see nobody. 100% highlight of our trip to Tucson. Get there around 8 or before though, it can get crowded. We got there around 730 and there was plenty of parking

Major Tucson trailhead and visitors center on the northeast side of town. Many trails and access to the National Forest. There are also two paved roads to walk up making there something for everyone no matter your condition or skill level. Also has a shuttle that you can pay to ride if that suits you. Best trailhead and Visitors Center in Tucson.

This is a must stop for anyone visiting Tucson. A stunningly beautiful national outdoor treasure and they even have an open shuttle to take you up to the top of the trail.
