Chilkat State Park

Best kept campground near Haines! Clean and well kept sites, clean bathrooms. Sites are mostly pull through with some back in. Road can be a bit rough but I had no problems at all with my 27' RV. Nice hikes and forested area nearby. Boat launch nearby and some good swimming if you don't mind some colder water. I was surprised but the water had very little salt from the ocean. Campground hosts were friendly and welcoming...I am looking forward to returning next year!

Must go if you have time for a short visit surrounding of Haines AK. The photo opps are unlimited.

14 percent grade, serious potholes in a small RV is an interesting start to your visit. Gorgeous views, the Point, trail, wildflowers - all of it fabulous and worth every minute.

The park is 5 stars. The road is 1 star. Do not drive it with a motor home or trailer over 20 feet long.

Beautiful park with an enchanting trail called Seduction Point. We enjoyed the lookout side road that provided views of the glacier and waterfalls across the inlet.

The drive in is a rough road but the views, campsites, and hiking is gorgeous.

Not for big rigs. Tight turns, pull throughs barely large enough for my 24 footer with a 15 foot utility trailer. Wooded. No cell coverage at the campground, but if you walk about 300 feet toward the boat ramp area there's coverage. Great location for experienced kayakers, but launch is far enough from the campground that you have to drive down to it.

So beautiful. Nice little hike, and you come upon a dazzling beach. Not crowded. You'll pass a few hikers. There's some little hidden treasures, old, disused bridges, things like that. I found a bald eagle feather on the beach BUT IT IS ILLEGAL TO PICK THEM UP SO DO NOT DO THAT.

This place is so so beautiful. There is a public restroom. Dress warm and wear shoes that are rugged and can take a pounding on the rocks if you walk the beach area. Also be mindful of bears!!

Beautiful, scenic place to get back to nature. Give yourself a treat and grab an open pontoon boat ride on the lake. No better way to get acquainted with the area.

As pristine as it gets. Great hiking, and beautiful campground. Breathtaking views, lots of wildflowers in the summer. Glaciers, water views, and serenity.

Very easy trail to walk out to a beach area. Very scenic.
