Rusty Compass Coffeehouse

We’re on an Alaskan cruise and this is the first coffee shop at a port that has had exceptional espresso! I definitely recommend giving it a try!!
The vibe is super cute and cozy, and the baristas match the esthetic perfectly. You know from the moment you walk in that you’re about to have quality.
Side note: they have dairy free milk options !

Cute little coffee shop with great selection, great service, and great quality coffees. They were a bit overwhelmed with an influx from a cruise ship, but managed the crowd well with minimal wait and smiles on their faces. Great experience for us!

The latte was really good, definitely better than other stops we've done on the cruise ship. It's a very small and cute coffee shop, the only downfall was the lack of seating, although understandable given the rainy day and cruise ship with large number of people.

Walked over to this coffee house from the cruise port and it was worth it. The service was amazing! I can’t stress that enough. I ordered a Mexican Mocha because it sounded interesting. It ended up being something I wouldn’t order again. One of the workers asked how it was without me saying anything to her and I told her that there wasn’t anything wrong with it, but that I wouldn’t probably order it again. Without hesitation she asked if there was something else I’d like to try and made sure we left with coffee we liked! Give this place a try!

Loved this place! Visited every day I was in Haines. Mocha every time and I got a chocolate chip cookie twice. Staff was super friendly and everything was good. Very accessible if you are anywhere in town.

Internet worked intermittently for me but I read interesting books that were there so not a problem. Be sure to check out the funny coffee bag designs from their supplier as well as the great photography in the back

as a southerner, I hold anywhere serving biscuits and gravy to a high standard- and these were great! cute little coffee shop with friendly employees and great drinks. we enjoyed our iced chai lattes and breakfast!

We landed by cruise ship in Haines and went ashore . Saw Rusty Compass Coffeehouse and thought we would try it. The staff were friendly ordered a latte and cappuccino. We sat outside a great day great tasting coffee. Also bought some beans to take home. Would I come here again if I had a chance "yes".

We spent 6 weeks in Haines.we never had a bad meal. Whether it was breakfast or lunch. Everything was fresh and the service amazing.

A gem of a place. The owner is courteous and the sandwiches and coffee are amazing.

I only stopped in for a chai latte, but the service was excellent and everybody was very friendly. The business was very clean, and lots of spaces to sit and relax.

This is one of the best Coffeehouses I've ever been! Delicious Coffee and Tea, Cookies, Sandwiches and Goodies to buy. I love the atmosphere. Next time I'm in Haines I will get back to the Rusty Compass Coffeehouse.

Best place for a good cup of coffee and checking your emails before heading back on the ships or wherever you’re going to.

Beautiful surroundings and charming little place.

This is a lovely place to visit. Staff are welcoming and the food is unbelievably good. I don't usually eat sweet stuff but I enjoyed the zucchini blueberry coffee cake. You must give it try!

Very friendly and love the atmosphere. Can come in and relax with a cup of coffee and they offer gluten free options which is not easily found here these days.

Rusty Compass coffeehouse is a great stop for a hot coffee, Latte, or hot chocolate. The food is served hot with a warming smile and the freshly made pastries are everyone’s delight. We made it to Rusty Compass at least once a day and sometimes twice a day during our stay.

Very chill. Great coffee. Happy to see their version of a sludge cup (drip coffee with espresso shots). Excellent blueberry muffins.

This place did not disappoint! Terrific espresso drinks made to order with quality ingredients, and fresh made local yummies to eat. If you are visiting Haines...I highly recommend this place.

Love this place! Great fresh local coffee. Great atmosphere. It has a rustic feel and local photographer photos in the back room. I also love the biscuits and gravy. Very chunky and flavored nicely with a little kick. The soup and pananis are also very good and made fresh.
