Rainbow Glacier Adventures

I joined this company for a shore excursion on August 29, 2023. Paul was the guide. He took us to the ghost town of Dyea and we saw a good number of bald eagles there. Unfortunately we didn’t have long telephoto lenses so could not capture them well. Then we stopped at a gorgeous fjord and then he took us into the forest where we were delighted to find exotic mushrooms. There was that famous poisonous red mushroom I never thought I’d ever see as well as a lot of other kinds. Paul provided some photography tips and was a very good guide.

Dale was my Skagway tour guide for a 3 hour photography expedition. He was on time, personable with a great sense of humor and helped everyone on the tour get the best possible shot. Plenty of tips and suggestions. Truly a kind and knowledgeable guide and shared history of the area. Highly recommend this tour. I just wished it would have been longer!!

We took a tour in Skagway to the White Pass Summit and Yukon suspension bridge and it was spectacular. The views are absolutely beautiful and it was a very clear day once we passed Skagway and went into the Mountain Pass. Our guide Holden was very knowledgeable, friendly, and made the tour very personable talking about different stories that he has had in his time in Alaska. He talked about the history of Skagway and also history of Yukon as well and stopped along the way for scenic overlooks. If you’re looking for a tour that has beautiful views and also where you learn a lot of history this is definitely the tour for you.

Our guide Holden was excellent! Extremely knowledgeable, personable and helped make the tour that much better. I would highly recommend the Yukon Suspension Bridge Tour. We even got to see bears!

We had an incredible day with RGA and our tour guide, Kathy. The tour felt so personalized and Kathy answered every single question our group had. She was so knowledgeable and passionate about the wildlife and history of this amazing place. We were very lucky and saw bears, eagles, birds, and seals. At the end of the day, the ferry was running late and Kathy took time out of her day to take us to a souvenir shop and café. I highly recommend booking a tour with RGA and Kathy!

We had an absolutely amazing time with Joe! We did a nature and wildlife photography tour with Joe and saw some of the most scenic spots in Haines. Joe showed us how to structure and shoot beautiful shots on both a Nikon DSLR and an iPhone. He also have us great local color. Highly recommend!

The folks at Rainbow Glacier are great! Christine and Pat were so nice and helpful. All were professional, but friendly and very accommodating. Special kudos to Garrett for the best tour and his great knowledge of all things Alaska! He knew all the best places to see bears, eagles, salmon spawning. He also did a great job of keeping us a safe distance from the bears but close enough to get amazing pictures! This is a wonderful, informative & relaxing tour of Haines! We took a tour in Skagway to the White Pass Summit and Yukon suspension bridge and it was my FAVORITE excursion! Dale was an INCREDIBLE tour guide! He went out of his way to make sure we could see all that time allowed. He is a professional photographer and gave us pointers on taking the best pictures with our phones!

The views were breathtaking. Picture perfect! I could not believe the gift shop did not have prints of photographs or artistic paintings of the view from the center of the bridge!

This is an absolute must excursion if you want to see the best of scenic views! (Ask for Dale!)

Dale took us on a photography tour of Skagway at the end of September. It was a gloomy day, so not the best for photos, but Dale took us to some great spots and we got super photos despite the weather. He even hauled out his own camera so got to experience photographing bald eagles like a pro! We would not hesitate to use the services of Rainbow Glacier Adventures if we find ourselves in Skagway again.

We did a tour (from Sapphire Princess cruise) with Paul last week & it was THE best !!! Small group & Paul was so informative without being obnoxious like most of our our guides.He took us to a variety of places & happily offered advice on our variety of camera types. Thanks for a great morning !

Our guide/owner, Joe is the best! He is so experienced and knowledgeable. He even wrote an awesome book about salmon with beautiful photography which he also does. This rafting trip is a must do!!!

We did the Skagway in Focus photography tour with our 13-year-old granddaughter and had a great time. Christine is a fantastic guide. She is personable and really related to everyone individually and as a group. She gave great photography tips and angles and we highly recommend her and this tour.

Nice tour up to the yukon and the suspension bridge. Great views of the surrounding lakes and mountains. Holden was really nice and had some good stories for us. Would do it again.

Had the most amazing trip with Rainbow Glacier Adventures today. Knowledgeable friendly and professional guides. Amazing boat trip, lovely lunch and amazing wildlife spotted, moose, bear, Eagle, swans, cranes and a whale on the return ferry. Cannot recommend them enough. Do yourself a favour and go, you will not regret it. Thank you Lynsey, Ali, Chad and Robert for an unforgettable experience.

We took the Chilkoot nature and lake tour, and it was amazing. The tour guide was very knowledgeable about the area and extremly accommodating.

There are so many choices of what to do in Skagway but the wildlife viewing excursion is well worth your time and money. Garrett did an excellent job showing us the places where wildlife were and some absolutely spectacular scenery.

We were visiting for the day before heading out on an Uncruise Adventure. They originally did not have a place for us. They were very accommodating and brought on an additional pilot. This was the highlight of our trip to Alaska! All the employees were very professional and polite. We would recommend them for your adventure.

Comfortable vehicle. We took the nature and wildlife tour. We saw seals, bears, eagles. Very knowledgeable and pleasant guide. Suggest bringing binoculars or telephoto camera lens

Aly did a wonderful job touring us around Haines. We saw lots of eagles and had a wonderful time photographing their beautiful town. We had a very personal touch added to this tour. We were very pleased!

I was lucky to have a professional photographer like Kim Clune to guide me through the nature photography tour at Haines, Alaska. She taught us how to use the elements, the lighting, background, foreground to compose a great landscape pictures using atmospheric affect. She took time to explain to us how to seize the opportunity to create a story with pictures. She took us to the areas where we captured some great pictures with wild animals. Kim also showed techniques with examples and reviewed so I could remember what she taught, and I have become a better photographer. My pictures I took at Haines and after the tour turned out very nice because the knowledge I gained from this Rainbow Glacier Chilkat Photography Tour. Kim is the best Photography Instructor!
