The Clam Box

Very family friendly, we even saw friends from a long time ago there. The food was good as we ended up with three main courses for the two of us. Love hole belly clams, Haddock & scallops! Great escape from pollen & the heat!

This is a cozy little spot for people. It is relaxing and more country like. The food was SO GOOD! I got clams, and my husband got lobster baked macaroni and cheese. You can taste the freshness from the food.
They give a large quantity too! I was surprised. We took a good portion home. Very satisfied here.

What a fantastic find!! The clam strips and haddock fish & chips were amazing!! As my wife said, “I’d repeat that any day!” Their secret is in the breading: light and not at all greasy like many places.

Don’t overlook this amazing local gathering spot for fresh and delicious food!

Very good seafood! My. Kids loved their burger and chicken tenders. And their ice cream is the best!

Update: since my first review I have been back to The Clam Box twice. Both times were excellent. I had my first lobster roll of the season there. Since then I’ve had two others in other places which have been very good, but The Clam Box lobster roll was the best. Their onion rings are incredible. My latest trip was to get ice cream, which was out of this world. Don’t miss this local treasure.

I never cared for this place because I thought the food wasn’t that good. My family told me that it changed hands several years ago and the food was greatly improved. So on this trip to visit them I stopped in and had lunch. Wow! What a difference! The food is now fabulous. I had the seafood platter. Everything was perfectly fried, light and crunchy. The service was excellent and friendly. Kudos to the current owners!

My meal was 20$ and some cents. Fried fish nuggets with a side of calm chowder and lobster Mac and cheese and a soda. The fried fish nuggets were so tender and juicy and the lobster Mac was a great blend sure taste of garlic for flavor. The clam chowder was thick and I even dunked my fish nugget in the thick chowder sometimes lol. Highly recommend.

I did the wicked lobster roll and French fries, my boyfriend did the sea scallops and lobster mashed potatoes. They were all great! The staff are friendly and caring. They welcome special needs kids and adults💕 made me feel like I was at home!

Exactly what I was looking for driving south from a work project - Authentic chowda house, and the lobster & Mac I tried along with had a large amount of lobster - loved having some great claw meat in there. The staff was very kind and patient with me - as it took a minute to drill through all the tempting offerings. Need to stop again some day and try a few more menu items! Was well worth a slight detour on my way home.

Place your order and they bring it to the table type of place. Excellent food. Lobster roll was my favorite. Lobster Mac was great as well.

Excellent seafood and friendly staff! I can vouch for the clam chowder and the plate of fried clams; both were delicious and well worth the hour's drive up.

A+ crab cakes were recommend by the fantastic girl at the window. They were A+ fisherman's platter was a perfect sampler. Definitely recommend.

Just what you would expect a "clam box" to be. No frills, but clean and pleasant with exceptional fried clams!

As always, excellent food at a fair price. We got 2 large haddock and fries and brought enough home for another full meal for us both. By far the best quick seafood in the area.

Delicious hot 1/2lbs Lobster roll with melted butter. Fried scallops where so good too. Large portion best to order without sides, so you can enjoy it with out getting full of fried food.

Very yummy! Great place for lunch or dinner. I tried the lobster blt sliders and they were amazing!

The food is great, love the chicken tenders and wicked seafood salad roll. Can get a little noisy at times due to large crowds and it's hard to hear people at your table.

The freshest seafood makes a difference. I had the Grilled Trio and we also ordered the Fried Haddock and Clam Strip Roll. All of them were fresh, hot, not too heavy or greasy and overall, delicious. The staff was friendly and our order was quick but not too quick (as in, it was already cooked and sitting in the kitchen). Highly Recommended if you’re in Central Mass!
