Northside Cafe of Rice Lake

We loved it! And the homemade bread was a delicious touch. This was our first time in since they opened and we were delighted to see the life brought back into a classic café of the area. The 50s flare was really fun and we loved to see that most (if not all) of the seats were filled by patrons. The hot chocolate was delicious as was all the food. Great things are happening here!

The food was down home cookin' the prices very reasonable and the service was spot on. I remember the owner from my time up in Birchwood she's a class act all the way and takes pride in the food they put out. If you want to fill your belly without emptying your pocketbook this is the place to go.

My first time here. My dad lives in Rice Lake and suggested it. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I had biscuits and gravy and my husband has taco spuds and both were very good. I will definitely go back to this little gem.

2/24 Hot beef was very good and saw a breakfast plate come out to another table. Must have been a skillet, but whatever it was did it ever look good and was there a quantity.

Food was cold. Waitress never checked back and it was not busy at all.

They have things figured out!!! We've been back several times and it's ALWAYS been great with great service!!!! We will continue to eat there. I recommend the Northside Benedict for breakfast and the dilly-oh burger for lunch or dinner.

Excellent service and amazing stuffed hashbrowns! We were all hungry and forgot to snap pics but this is well worth a visit if your looking for a filling and delicious breakfast. Also, excellent hot sauce selection :)

Phenominal! Had the Big Slam with potato peelers and my husband had Big Slam with potato salad. The Big Slam tastes like the original McDonald's Big Mac! Everything was great and the waitresses were awesome too!

Good food and great prices

We were hiking in the area and randomly picked the Northside Cafe for our lunch. I was slightly skeptical at first, because the exterior of the building needs some upkeep--peeling paint on the window trim for example. Don't let this scare you! The inside was cute and VERY clean with plenty of tables for dining. The food was absolutely delicious. I had two lovely eggs, 3 pieces of perfectly done bacon (I can't stand limp bacon!), delicious American-fried baby red potatoes (yum), and the cranberry-pecan toast which was an absolute treat. A whole plateful of delicious food for just $7! Service was fast and efficient. This place felt like a hidden gem to me, as opposed to the chain restaurants where you don't get half the value or half the flavor. Thank you Northside Cafe--we will definitely be back!

Food was AMAZING, great quality!! A little pricey but for the amount of food and quality of food, it was spot on!!! Service was great, extremely friendly and personable!!!
If you're a bigger person, suggest sitting at a table as booths are a tight squeeze!
