Chang Hua Chinese Restaurant

This is the absolute best Chinese that I have had and they are one of the best restaurants in Pulaski County. We have been eating their food for 15 years and I am a huge fan of their Veg Lo Mein and Sweet and Sour Shrimp, along with many others. They have such great service and are such good people. Will always go here for our Chinese fix as long as we are around here.

My accidental review.
I had an Uber ride that went from Greensboro NC to Pulaski, VA, so once I had dropped off, it was about 7 pm and was hungry for dinner. I was in the mood for Chinese, and this was about the only option.
I wasn't planning on doing a review. I just wanted a meal.
Well... what a meal I was treated to.
Before I go any further, I want to set the table a bit about my "Chinese food eating history"
I have lived in China two times (and no this food isn't authentic Chineee food and I didn't expect it to be) and lived in and around Boston and have traveled numerous times to NYC and to many other "Chinatowns" in the country. I've had some amazing (American) Chinese food all over the place.
Entering the restaurant, they have a few tables and seats and your typical American Chinese fare, along with photos on the wall with some of their speciality dishes.
I got the black pepper chicken that came with fried rice and an egg roll and served to you on a Styrofoam plate (if eating there).

Eggroll- Crisp wrapper on the outside and amazingly flavorful and moist on the inside. Cabbage and (I believe) pork with a nice dose of black pepper throughout and a nice size. 10/10
Fried rice: this was a very good basic fried rice. Not dry, nor flavorless. Wasn't the most amazing I've had but not what I was expecting 8/10
Black pepper Chicken. The color was amazing. When it arrived at my table I knew just by looking at it, it was going to be phenomenal and it was. Great texture, flavor, and all the other adjectives that describe a great dish. 10/10!!!

For anyone who lives on this area and may not realize how lucky you are... you are.
Don't take this place for granted bc I've had Chinese food in plenty of small towns, and 95% of the cooks are basically the "flunkees" from cooking school.
Funny enough, this is the second time I've had Chinese food in a small town and it was great. I'm going to start calling Va "Southern Manhattan" for Chinese food that is.
If you think the food here is not good, it's because you actually don't know what good food tastes like and probably should stick to canned and microwaveble food.
I look forward to being near this town again and I will plan another meal at Chang Hau Chinese Restaurant.

I got bbq spare ribs. They're like "crack"! I shared a few with CO workers. They all ordered them again. Seriously addictive, like candy. They didn't last long enough to take photos. They're easily the best food item sold here in Pulaski County.

We love this place ,always have, the food is always hot and so good,and love the people there the man that is up front, think his name is Jimmy he is so on top of it

Best Chinese food in the area. I've been searching since we moved to the area and this is it! The staff is nice, service is fast, food is great. Will definitely be coming here regularly.

Best Honey Shrimp I’ve ever had, and the egg rolls are top notch! I have have eaten here several times over the years and I think it’s actually gotten even better over time! HUGE portions with the combo plates so it’s a great value! You can have dinner two nights from one order! Highly recommend! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I love this restaurant. They have the best quality Chinese food.

The lunch specials are a great deal. One lunch will easily last me two meals. I drive from Wytheville to Pulaski for Chang Hua and order ahead, and it’s never more than a 30 minute wait at max. The honey chicken and egg foo yung are both delicious. My daughter tried the chicken and broccoli today, and it was wonderful. I also appreciated their commitment to customer safety during COVID.

I’ve been eating this place for a good while now, and when I tell you the prices are amazing and the food even better, I mean it. Get out of the review section, and order something.

Consistency is key. Even when they are super busy, they never get an order wrong. The food is always consistently great. Always hot. And the employees are always friendly. I like businesses with food I can count on. (And if they are busy, they always tell you. Honesty is a must!)

Best restaurant in Pulaski. I have cancer and have lost my ability to eat and swallow food for the last year and this is the only place I miss being able to eat at. Rest assured when I am able to eat again, this is the FIRST place I'm headed!

They give u alot of food for your money. Super fast delivery. I've ate here for yrs. Even when there were 2 Chinese restaurants in town I'd always chose this one! They have curbside pick up as well. A great variety of different meals. Would definitely recommend to anyone!
