Centra Southside Community Hospital

We were out of town and came in the ER for my husband (42 year old) who was having heart symptoms. From registration to meeting with doctor I felt things moved swiftly and kindly. My husband was well taken care of with diagnosis and immediate treatment. Having worked in the healthcare field for over a decade I was really impressed with all medical team members and their thoughtful action. Thank you to the Sunday team that helped us/we are incredibly grateful.

I came into the hospital for a minor surgery. From the moment I walked in I was treated very well. From administrative to doctors, nurses. Everyone here has been amazing. I know for me, I have never been to a hospital that has taken such great care of someone. I highly recommend Southside Community in Farmville Va.

Monday night I was in ER. And the RN seemed damn near clueless and screwed up blood test and kept having to retake them. Don't remember name.left on own accord after 6.5 hours. Had to go back next day give more blood again. And went back Tuesday night following up results. Had diff caregivers. NP Maureen and Traveling RN rich I believe was his name. They were amazing and cared and didn't rush threw anything. Got me answers and treatment. Amazing. Don't let these two get away. We need more health care workers who care about their patients.

At first I was scared to go to Centra Southside when I realised something was wrong I didn’t know what but I knew I need emergency care very quickly and didn’t think I had the time to wasted being taken to another hospital father away . To my surprise thinking I would wait for hours like my issues were not important because I did not arrive by ambulance I tryed to tell registration what was wrong and why I was there I could barely hold my head up to speak at this point and felt myself slipping away when I was immediately treated with concern and rushed back for vitals and into a room where I was treated by a very Compassionate Careing Dedicated Nurseing Staff and Nurse Practitioner that stopped at nothing till they found my diagnosis. They have come along way from the Southside I use to know or I might not be writing this review today. I could not have asked for better care it was exceptional! Thank you Centra Southside for all that you do !

I took my child to the Emergency Room this morning.

She has been sick since Monday night and I am guessing the anonymous dr visit on Tuesday and testing was negative because it was too soon. Unfortunately, when I called same dr office on Thursday, I think I was misunderstood because I was calling to say she was worse but the end of the phone call was “it’s viral, can last a week & let us know if she is worse.”

ANYway, my point is to follow your gut. From the Check in to check out, it was the best care we have ever received in an Emergency room! The RNs, Tech and Dr Zhang were phenomenal! They were caring, empathetic and efficient. Shout out for the great care!! So glad I stayed in town for the visit.

I had VERY positive experiences in both the ER and general surgery. Very kind, attentive staff. The ER nurse told me that people rarely have to wait very long (if at all) for a bed. Dr. Weems is an incredible surgeon. It is a small hospital but it seems like they everyone knows what they are doing.

I was left in shock that this is a Centra health run facility the polar opposite of Lynchburg general.
I was treated like I mattered; with compassion and care. I was there less than 3 hours unlike lgh where I was ignored in an empty waiting room for 6
I truly understand why people would rather suffer the 40 minute drive instead of being treated in Lynchburg.

Very Professional nurses and doctors starting in the Emergency Department to the 3rd Floor I was very pleased with my treatment .

I had to come 2 different days for procedures . Both days, I had the best staff taking care of me. They were beyond wonderful.

My daughter was in the ER for two days and every shift it was a different person that we were dealing with. Nurses & CNA's.. etc. Everyone we met were so wonderful and caring. One particular CNA stood out to me among the others and I will never forget her. Her name is Asia and she was amazing. She was by my daughters side when she needed someone the most & willing to work past the end of her shift to be there with her because my daughter wanted her & was instantly drawn to her as someone to look up to. I have not a bad thing to say about this place except for some of them patients those poor workers have to deal with lol. Asia genuinely cared for and about my daughter. I cant thank her enough. I hope she never ever leaves. So please give that lady a raise!!!

I had such a positive experience with Centra Southside Hospital. The care I received was the best, from all the nurses to the Doctors. I am so grateful!

All the doctors, nurses, technicians, admin staff were wonderful, knowledgeable and helpful. Based on my experience for 4 days there, October 18-22, 2022, and beginning in the ER and being moved to the 3rd floor my experience was perfect.

I was admitted with covid. I was informed of everything they were doing. They checked on me constantly. The nurses were so kind and friendly. Dr. Huffstetler was very nice and explained what was going on each day-very down to earth.i could not have asked for better treatment. Definitely 5 stars from me.

I had surgery yesterday. I have never experienced such kindness and compassion in any other hospital. The staff at information desk, the staff that processed my paperwork, and nurses and anesthesiologist were so kind. I would never consider another hospital after finding this one.

Literally the best hospital to go to. The staff is knowledgeable and caring for patients.

I’m not sure why this hospital has such low reviews, I never post reviews and I felt the compelling need to do so with our outstanding service here. My husband was admitted and we arnt from this area, the staff was so nice so helpful , fast and very friendly, great doctors also. Thank to this wonderful staff for making an other wise stressful situation a bit easier.

Based on every experience I have ever had at Southside Central I would give them a Thumbs up every time. I was recently in the ER with diverticulitis and the doctor and the nurse both were extremely helpful and caring I cannot say enough about how I was treated at this establishment

I was admitted for covid and very impressed with Dr. Lee and all the nurses and staff while there. They were informed, professional, and caring. All of them. Thank you for such wonderful care.

I've worked here for 10 years, it's my home away from home. Coworkers are grrat. I would recommend anyone if being a patient or looking for a pleasant place to work.
