Hickory House Bbq

Man, these guys knocked it out of the park! Little, unassuming BBQ joint with great rocking tunes to go along with the amazing food! Excellent pulled pork, hush puppies, and some spicy baked beans. Another member of the crew got what was easily one of the best looking burgers I've seen outside of some of the high end restaurants in bigger towns, and she said it was incredible! Definitely would recommend to anyone looking for great food with super reasonable prices!

So glad we came here to eat tonight!! It was all delicious. Have been looking for melt in your mouth brisket for awhile now and have found it. Service was great, everything was hot and fresh and all the side items were excellent. Highly suggest the chicken wings with bone in.

This BBQ place was everything we were looking for when we were on vacation! The atmosphere was fun and the food was amazing. The service was super quick and we got everything we ordered. The server was super friendly and warm. We got the BBQ plates with hush puppies and two sides and the food was hot and delicious. I highly recommend checking this place out if you want quality BBQ!

Pulled pork sandwich, one side, and an endless drink for $8.99. The folks here do a fantastic job at taking your order, refilling your drinks, and getting you out the door before your lunch break is over.

Just randomly picked this place traveling because I like to eat local mom and pop places not chain resturants...it was good, clean and friendly. They even wrote Thank you and safe travels on my take out box!

Food was great. Service was quick and friendly. We are a family of 4 who got the $25 family pack. It was plenty of food and we each got our own individual sides.Worth the price. I read so many negative reviews and was skeptical but glad we gave it a chance!

We were passing through on our way to Georgia. We stopped at Hickory House for lunch. I had the pulled pork sandwich and my wife had the brisket plate. The pulled pork was excellent and the brisket just melted in your mouth. I wish I lived close to Wytheville because I would eat there all the time.

Have been wanting to try their Pork Barbecue. Finally stopped in and took home a pound of their fresh pulled pork. It was delicious.service was great AND I will be going back for more!

Looking at the first view of the mac and cheese, I was pretty sad. But after eating it I had a change of heart… some how as basic as it looks it was incredibly good, taste the cheese. Then I moved to the brisket…. Very tender and exactly what I wanted.
I waited too long for the fries but I’m sure they would be perfectly hot and crispy
When I return, this is my number 1 for Virginia

Delicious!!! Not to be missed! My husband and I love BBQ and always eat it multiple times when we travel because it is not readily available where we live. That being said, I had the Brisket on French fries and my husband had the pulled pork sandwich. Both were incredibly tender and flavorful.
The building is small, but cute and clean on the inside. Used to be an old service station.
The employees were so friendly and welcoming.
The only thing I would suggest is a new road sign. It definitely needs some refurbishment to make it stand out so it can be readily seen by passer-byers. And maybe some flowerpots by the entrance.

Our waitress was fantastic. Sadly, we forgot to ask her name. She had brown hair and was absolutely amazing. Very knowledgeable about the menu. We had a lot of questions because we are from up north but now live in the south. We prefer regular BBQ, not vinegar based BBQ and boy were we in luck!! Their BBQ was not vinegar based but they do offer vinegar based sauce, if you want that. We got ribs, brisket, pulled chicken with several sides. All were delicious. The staff, atmosphere, cleanliness, and food were all fantastic. We will definitely be back if we travel through here again.

I had chicken tacos with homemade chips, my husband had pork BBQ with fries. Everything was delicious!

Great customer service and food! We got take out since we have 2 young kids. We ordered the pulled pork sandwich and tacos (2 chicken 1 pork). And choose max & cheese as side. My wife liked the pork sandwich, and I really liked the tacos esp the chicken tacos. They had a great smoke flavor, and kids tore up the max and cheese. Easy to order takeout and came out quick and hot.

I ordered the chicken legs with BBQ sauce yesterday and they were AMAZING. The 4 legs were huge and had lots of meat. The slaw and beans were great as well. The staff is very friendly. They just have started selling Hershey ice cream and had atleast 8 different flavors and they get different flavors with their orders.
I love to support the local businesses and I am never disappointed with this place. LOVE IT!

We ate here over Fathers Day weekend. I won’t be able to say enough, the food was amazing, excellent flavor and well proportioned. Very clean place and their bathrooms were even spotless. I am very pleased and amazed with this place.
