On a family road trip and made it a point to try to stop at some touristy places on the way. This was recommended to us at the welcome center just over the border so we made the side trip.

What a cute little shop! The kids got a free ice cream, my husband climbed the tower, we got some kitschy photos and souvenirs. We also tried hot dogs with coleslaw on them which were good and now I wonder why i never tried it before. Staff was super friendly and patient with my kids who wanted to pay for their own stuff.

Would go back again (but I still won't go up that tower!) when it's warmer!

Cute photo ops even if you don't climb the tower!

This is an amazing off the beaten path tourist stop. A little fun roadside pit stop to enjoy the views while out cruising rout 52! We stopped here with the kids and climbed up the tower, got ice cream and a couple souvenirs from the shop. Plenty of places to sit and soak up the scenery! Highly recommend for people riding motorcycles to pit stop here!

It was a beautiful view even without going up on the tower or the bridge. I love the ice cream inside also!! The market is nice with mostly homemade items and novelty items all over. The staff is friendly and caring, especially the young lady who dips ice cream and checks you out…

Big walker look out is a little bit of a drive off the beaten path… But it is a spectacular view from the top of the tower!

It’s the middle tower with maybe 10 or 12 stories of wood on metal stairs, safety rails, and mashing to make you feel a little more comfortable as you walk up to the top.

If you’re scared of heights, this may not be the thing for you because there’s a whole Lotta open error around the middle structure for you to look out and through as you make the climb to the top.

Additionally, while the tower seems very strong, it does move a bit while people are hiking up and down the stairs. I think it was kind of thrilling your mileage may vary.

The view from the top of the tower is spectacular! You can see beautiful forests for tens of miles in every direction.

People go up the tower year-round I understand… Coming in the winter is when the air is clearest and therefore you can see the farthest. The only two times you cannot go up the tower during regular hours is when there is too much ice on it and when there are electrical storms.

There’s a convenience store that sells the tickets and has many gifts and treats and snacks and food… Good assortment in a really nice man behind the register to help you get what you need

Adults cost eight dollars… Kids cost six.

Big Walker Lookout is a wonderful little stop in the Blue Ridge Mountains along the Appalachian music Trail. Climbing the tower is a little bit of work and a little scary, but it is totally worth it once you get to the top and see the views of the 4 nearest States. However, the best part of this little tourist stop is by far the people who run it. Some of the nicest people you'll ever meet, who Pride themselves on filling their shop with local artists. They sell items crafted by local artisans, and on the weekends they bring up local musicians and authors to entertain their crowd.

I took a 50-mile route detour to visit, and I'm not sorry that I did. The updated hours had not yet been posted to Google, so I arrived at closing instead of an hour prior to closing, but the gentleman was very nice and still let me climb the tower. He didn't make me feel rushed, and I was given plenty of time to enjoy the view. The country store has something for everyone.

Went with my husband and In-laws. We had a great time. The country store is really nice and the live music outside was a great touch. The views from the lookout tower were magnificent and worth the climb.

This was such a great little addition to our weekend itinerary coming from NY. The gentleman in the store was extremely kind & their ice cream is delicious. We went on a Saturday early afternoon & there was only 1 family & us. The store has many gifts, similar to Cracker Barrel. Definitely support this location ❤👍🏻

The lady running the shop was wonderful. The ice cream was great. You can not beat the views, especially if you climb to the top of the tower. Bring your cardio, because you have 193 steps to reach the top. The parking lot has some gravely spots so bikers beware. Beautiful ride up and down this mountain!

It was a cold and rainy day but the view is just exquisite! We will definitely return on a sunny day to enjoy the view.

Absolutely fantastic! Warm and welcoming the shop is huge and takes a minute to go through. Lots of natural/holistic products from local merchants. Something in there for everyone. And yes the view is amazing and the ice cream is one of the best I have ever had.

WOW that tower is tall! I'm a Florida flat-lander and made it up less than half way before having to turn back. The wind was blowing hard too which didn't help. The drive up was gorgeous as well as the views from the parking area. Definitely a place worth visiting!

This is a quaint country place. They have a wonderful selection of souvenirs. They also offer a variety of homemade jams, honey, and some really amazing homemade fudge. They have a few flavors to choose from. Ice cream by rhe scoop is also readily available. They have a nice tower that, once climbed, offers some breathtaking views. Generally a great place to visit with the entire family.

Really cool staff is so nice. They sell such nice stuff their crsytals are cheap, their soaps smell wonderful! I will have to say my pair of earing I bought did break in the packaging but its nothing some tools can't fix. Also their ice cream is so creamy its delicious! Staff are so nice and in the bathroom they have feminine products for us girls. My mom, my sister and me all purchased tickets to climb the lookout tower if it weren't for the wind it was perfect. I would be careful not to drop anything because it will break. Stuff is reasonably priced and it was a perfect stop on our road trip.

Great tourist spot! The tower is metal and felt rickety but sturdy of course. I think I counted 20 flights of stairs. The top level is breathtaking. Gift shop is a nice size and the sweet gentleman working was so helpful.

Awesome place to visit especially on a motorcycle. The big Walker Tower is located in the middle of the claw of the dragon. It cost $8 per person to climb the hundred foot tower. And from the top you can see four different states. Ohio Virginia West Virginia and Tennessee. It is quite a walk to get to the top of the tower. But the views are well worth it.
