MCC of the Palm Beaches

This is my church and I enjoy coming to church, and the people are friendly. But can be clickish. Has a great food pantry. For the most part this MCC church is a wonderful place to worship.

The resent change in pastor has given me reason to wonder how a congregation can vote on a new minister when they have never heard a single sermon from said minister. And I have never been asked to vote when there is only 1 person offered up for consideration, and having never heard her preach, and I dont want to tell someone how to run a church. The other issue I have with the MCC of the Palm Beaches are they have No care group to minister to members that can't attened services or who are hospitalized due to very serious health issues, so as much as I care for the people I have come to love at this (my) church, we as a congregation and community need to do better, HIV isn't the only serious illness that touches our members and congregation. This review is a very honest and personal review of MY church. (And I am a Member)
For the most part I believe in the church and its mission, we just need to do better.

God is here

The people were very friendly and welcoming.
But….
I had emailed the pastor two weeks beforehand and never heard back. When I did attend, I stated to the pastor about emailing her and she didn’t seem to know anything about it. 😢
I left without saying anything to anyone and still no kind if reaching out from the pastor. (Maybe my email went to junk and she never really saw it… 🤷🏻‍♀)
One other thing that didn’t set right with me was the changing of ‘Bible’ text.
The Lords Prayer is ‘Our Father’ not our ‘creator’
I understand that in today’s world people are trying to remain gender neutral, but I will not alter God’s word… nor will I be a part of any organization that feels it is ok to change the Word of God.
