Underground Books

Stopped in on Saturday and it was lovely! The book selection was great. Sometimes I don't know what to expect going into smaller bookstores, but I was pleasantly surprised. I could have spent all day in there. Every section felt personalized by the staff, and walking through I could feel the love and effort that gets put in to not only the book selection, but the post card and birthday card selection, stickers, hand made items, and even the decor. My only regret is not buying a T- shirt before we left. My husband and I will definitely be back. I hope that Underground Books and other local book stores like it are alive and well when I have children so I can share it with them.

This bookstore has an authentic booknerd vibe that can’t be faked- the collection of novels, collectibles, and art has obviously been curated with love. Will 100% be back to add to my TBR pile!

There is so much charm in this little shop! I love the way they section their books and how they have "employee picks" written out on cards by the employee who recommended it. The prices are fair, and the selection is very wide. I didn't get to spend much time here, but I plan to go back soon.

Great selection and I love the staff recommendations! Getting a tshirt for my purchase was phenomenal and the girl at check out was so nice. I'm absolutely coming back to buy more books and do a photo shoot sometime soon!

Loved! I wanted to linger and read employee suggestions for every single book on the shelves, but I made a mistake and brought my family. 🤪 I can see myself spending hours (and a small fortune) on books and the one-of-a-kinds that are lovingly packed into this cozy book basement. I met Ruthie who genuinely greeted every customer, and who was down for a little chat and answering my questions about various treasures...and it turned out she had personally made most of my favorites. Our visit was by chance while traveling home from a family vacation, and I will make sure that next time I come through, I allow myself more time and bring my piggy bank to smash.

*Today I purchased a puzzle and a magnet made from illustrations from vintage books that couldn't otherwise be salvaged.*

Underground Books is a great independent bookstore. Staff is friendly and the selection of New and Used titles is awesome. I live 3 hrs away, but always try to stop in when I am in town!

They just have the cutest books ever!! It’s not a big store so they can’t be expected to have every book ever like Barnes and Nobles but they definitely hold their own. (I’m actually currently writing this while IN the store lol) but I got Pride and Prejudice, and The Beautiful And Damned And Other Stories and let me tell you these covers are GORGEOUS. Highly recommend coming here, there’s a little bit of everything old and new! (Also if you are coming here the door is a little weird lol)

The cutest bookstore I’ve ever been in. They have a decently priced, wide variety of books and the staff is super friendly!

i went on a double date here yesterday! it was an amazing place. the employee recommendations were such a wonderful touch and i loved reading them! the book arch was so pretty also. very homey and wonderful with a great selection of books

I could get lost in here for hours. Everyone is so helpful and friendly. I love the selections and even the way the books are displayed! It's my favorite place on the square.

So many genres to choose from. There really is something for everyone, even includes a massive children’s section and young adult section. The books from here are great quality and decently priced.

Definitely would recommend checking this place out and then maybe grabbing a bite to eat on the square while you enjoy your new read.

Underground Books has an almost legendary status in certain sectors of the Carrollton and UWG community. When I first started working in Carrollton I heard a lot about it and was impressed with the selection when I finally visited the store, as well as the knowledge and helpfulness of the staff.

I haven't been there very often at all, but got the urge to stop by yesterday. When I did, I found the following sign posted on their doors (see attached picture) which indicates that patrons can support UB by purchasing books through the Libro app/website. (FYI, the site requires a subscription, but customers can get a free trial period to check it out first).

You can see a sample of their book selection in the other image, which in my opinion is stellar. I'm familiar with some of the books in the window, and those that I'm not familiar with quite interesting to me. I look forward to UB being able to open fully and safely.

I love this bookstore! They've got such a great range of books covering many different genres. The atmosphere of the place is nice too. Those readers who prefer to read more challenging and obscure novels need not fret either! Visited here three times now, and it's been great every time! Definitely recommended!

Nice little hole in the wall bookstore right off the square. I'll note I needed to park in the parking deck across the street to access this business, but it's a busy area.

The salesperson was very helpful and knowledgeable, and they had a fine selection of books including a hardback I didn't know existed at a very affordable price.

It has a friendly atmosphere albeit a bit dim - but with a name like "Underground Books" I'd be surprised if it were an above ground establishment with huge windows.

All in all, nice place. They'll have my business again.

Such a nice hole in the wall/ground, I found out about this place on TikTok. It's like going down into a reading corner and being surrounded by books. The book arch is a nice touch. Friendly staff. Good pricing on the books. I came from Alabama, I wasn't disappointed. Will be back.

Beautiful book store! Even if you aren't a big reader, the layout and atmosphere of this shop is worth seeing. If you are a big reader, there's a wide selection of books along with little notecards that show staff recommendations. I'd highly recommend this store to anyone!
