Alexander Family YMCA

A very well maintained facility, very large, spacious with lots of amenities and activities for all members of the community and family. Large spacious rooms for community-based meetings.A lot of friendly and helpful staff members that are always present to help.

As a traveling triathlete it’s great to find another well equipped ymca. This one is extensive with multiple floors. The indoor pool is 25 yards and about 85F. There are a number of stationary bikes around that measure power and will upload your workout to stava through a secondary app. I was not able to connect it to Zwift but it might be possible. The staff here is super friendly and helpful.

We want to thank the whole Aquatic Team for everything they do! A special shout out to Alex...he's amazing and made our Y experience something my son will never forget.

Front desk staff are absolutely wonderful- thanks Hannah! Everyone is warm and welcoming. Great selection of fitness classes. Can be crowded / noisy on weekends with basketball games etc. but what a wonderful contribution to our community.

Friendly staff, clean, a wide array of classes and activities, parking can be tough sometimes, but great Y!

Great Y, overall they have great accommodations and the gym has everything you need, you have to work out the times that works best for you because at times it gets crowded so be aware of that, but nothing out of the ordinary compared to other gyms. I love the indoor pool. The staff is always friendly and super helpful!!! I'm glad to be part of this Y!!!

Very friendly staff and indoor swimming pool just make it a showstopper gym in Raleigh.

I started my new journey this week at the Alexander Family YMCA on Hillsborough St in Raleigh. From the moment I walked into the building smiling faces welcoming me. I met Julie one of the employees in the hallway she just gave me a compliment on my dance moves. I dance after I get off a machine and I was dancing and Julie with this warm big smile saw me the next day and told me about a dance class that the Y has at 6 pm. I asked her if they had some one to help me with a workout program to teach me about the machine's Julie took my name, number and email and told me Jessica is in charge of equipment so I got an email from Jessica that evening. ☺ I'm a Senior Citizen and I live for kind people listen everyone this is the YMCA for everyone families, Seniors, kids, teens, couples you will love it here. I go everyday and it has been about ten years since I worked out I'm sore but happy. Let me share with you about another employee Tony Jenkins I didn't know how to use the treadmill he was greeting me he introduced himself and I said Tony can you help me he helped me start the treadmill. Kindness all around this place from the front desk check-in all over. The most important thing I saw was a Chapel inside to go in an pray and I go and sit down and pray after working out. My heart is smiling when I walk out the door.

For me, it's a great place to workout and hangout. Many good people there

Love this Y. Always leave feeling wonderful. Great variety of classes, lots of equipment, pool, sauna, steam room, lockers they provide the key (moving to keyless), towels. And everyone is so nice. Good for body, soul and spirit.

I love this place. Its big, spacious, and the workers are friendly. On Saturdays if you plan to run on the track, get there before 9 to avoid the crowd. Despite that, I love running here. The cafe downstairs is my favorite post work out spot. I always get the protein shake with cookie butter and it is the bomb!! You will not be disappointed!

I love the facilities in general. I mainly come here to run and lift weights. After I work out, I can enjoy a nice, hot shower. This is a great place to go! If I plan to go to NC State soon, I like how there is a YMCA right nearby the campus.

I used to travel a lot for work and I don’t remember ever seeing a ymca that has a barber shop and a masseuse in its locker room along with sauna and steam room. Other awesome things about this place: they have a real coffee shop operating inside the y, clean fresh towels always, free locker rentals and a helpful staff. This facility also offers free yoga and the yoga teachers are actually really good. That’s huge. Five stars- anything less would be unfair

This is one of my favorite YMCA’s in the triangle. All the amenities are clean, in working condition and up to date. Personally I love playing racquetball and walking around the basketball courts on the indoor track. Great cardio and weight sections as well.

Of course I have to mention that for the fellas out there, the locker room is top notch. Both a dry sauna and steam room, a barber chair and a by appointment message therapist.

In the age of COVID, these perks aren’t available, but it’s one of my favorite things about this Y.

Lastly, the kids athletic director here is the best in the triangle. He loves working with the kids and has created multiple programs over the years that keep the kids excited about sports!

I come here every day after school and it is great. I have met some of my best friends here. The staff are so welcoming and helpful. This YMCA has particularly good aftercare and summer programs.

Nicest YMCA I have ever been to. Classes, lots of weights, basketball court, pool, track- they have everything, even a sauna! I love the classes and the instructors are great. Lots of parking but does get busy.

Great place to workout(my only use for it). Staff are very nice, and everything you need is available. Well worth the money.

I go there every day except on Sundays, and lemme say that track is too small. The trainers and workers are helpful. Some people love to work out on one thing and that kind of limits people who are tryna seriously get all of their workout in, and is frustrating

Clean, beautiful, and well-supplied facilities. I was a member here for over a year and would gladly continue to be if I hadn't moved. Staff is very friendly. They have almost any kind of equipment you could ask for.
