Salem Lake Trail - Linville Parking Area

Although the parking lot can get crowded at times, it is a great spot to come to! There’s restroom facilities and a water fountain (with a doggie fountain) nearby.

Overall this trail is great for running, walking, biking, and bringing your pets or kids. There’s a lot of benches around the whole trail if you need to take a break or places with lake access if you want to go down to the water.

Roughly a 7 mile walk all the way around so it takes about 2-2.5 hours is you have a steady pace.

Beautiful place for a walk, run, or bike ride. Nice smooth surfaces with minimal hills. Very easy trail around a nice lake. Approximately 7 miles to complete the whole loop.

It's a beautiful place to walk. I went pretty early and it wasn't that busy (if you're trying to avoid crowds). I'm not an avid runner or even much of an exerciser but in trying to get out more and this was perfect. The scenery was beautiful, peaceful and motivating

Great 7 mile trail that follows along the quiet lake. Multiple beeches along the way and two major entrances on either side (~3.5 miles apart). Trail is maintained well and great for a nice bike ride.

Wonderful walking/running/biking/horse back riding trail. It is seven miles around the lake and they just finished redoing new bathrooms at both parking lots. The main lot has more room but I frequently find the lot off Linville Rd easier to get too. However that lot fills up quickly.

We are so fortunate to have this park in Winston-Salem. Features a playground, 7 mile walking/biking/horse riding loop around the lake, water access for boats/kayaks/canoes and fishing all surrounded by the beauty of nature and wildlife. Whether you live in Winston or are visiting pack a picnic and head to Salem Lake.

I’ve ran this course several times and it is a special place where I retreat to find peace and solitude within the hustle and bustle of the Triad. It is hands down one of THE best running/walking and casual biking trails in the local area. The scenery is amazing and the trail offers just enough of a challenge. It’s approximately 7 miles around the entire loop.

Great place to walk your dog and ride a bike. But be careful, children are present on the path.

Very nice trail with water fountains periodically and some benches. Real pretty bridges. It would be way to long to walk around the whole thing. It's something like 7 miles around. There were bikers, but they were friendly about passing pedestrians walking. There are several points you can park at with bathrooms and walk a part of the trail up and back again. There is also a small convenience store at one of the parking areas. You can also, canoe, kayak or fish.

Such a gem of a park. Nice path for walking or biking. Also great mountain bike trails off of the main path. I do feel safe parking at this lot and there are bathrooms.

Beautiful and relaxing any time of the year...

I mountain bike here quite frequently. The paved and unpaved roads and many different types of hills (steep or gradually climbing) is great practice! And the view of the lake is wonderful all the way around. Not to mention, the trail is mostly shaded by trees!

Salem Lake Trail isn't just a scenic 7 mile multi-use trail, it's home of this unwieldy creature I think might be a Turducken? But seriously what is this thing?
