Shuckers Oyster House

We always enjoy the food, ice cold drinks and atmosphere. Service was great. And music was spot on. Oh, and the gumbo was awesome!!

The Garlic Butter Mussels I had were excellent. Nicely roasted. Had the cheese grits and veggies with it. I washed it down with a pineapple IPA😋😍 Of course, to top it off, great customer service!!!!!!!👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿

This was our first time visiting Shuckers our waitress (Ashley) was amazing did was the food. My husband and I had gator bites to start awesome. Husband had grouper basket and I had the oyster basket both were delicious. Cant say enough good things about the food and our waitress. We will definitely be back. Thanks again Ashley for making our first time so memorable.

I'm a super picky seafood eater when I'm not on a coast line. I enjoy Shuckers so much! Everytime we go the food is wonderful & the service exceptional. There is occasionally a wait time as they get crowded fast. They have indoor and outdoor seating. A bar is available with specialty cocktails (my favorite is the blueberry lemonade vodka). You can't go wrong with anything food choice, but a few of my favorites are the baked oysters (a must have!), grouper sandwich, crab legs, gumbo, & the large combo platters!

My sneaky friends just had a surprise birthday luncheon for me at Shuckers bc they know it’s my favorite place. It was so fun! They planned it at 1 pm when the lunch rush was nearly over. (Smart gals!) Some had never been to Shuckers but enjoyed it and vowed to come back.

I have posted reviews elsewhere so am repeating here:
Food: We go to the beach frequently and I have never had fried shrimp anywhere that is as good as Shuckers. It’s even better than any at Calabash.
(Seriously, I have been saying this for years - actually since the first time they opened back in 1999 or 2000.) The breading is not too thick and not too thin. It's just right. I love their shrimp basket! Husband loves their oyster basket. The fries are sooooo good and crispy. I dip them in the cocktail sauce. Sometimes the cocktail sauce is not as horsey as we like it so we ask for a bit more horseradish. No problem! The slaw is good, I just wish there were more of it and maybe a bit more or thicker sauce to marry the flavors. It always tastes fresh!!! The basket is consistently good. We never get anything else because the basket is what we like! But I will make it my goal to try something different.
Service: The staff always seem happy. That says a lot! The actual service is pretty good. It's a bit spotty depending on how busy it is. As we are retired, we go late lunch or early dinner and recommend you do too.
Ambiance: I love the music they play and the decorations are fun! It’s like a day at the beach!
Suggestion: Could you do a week night M-Th senior citizens hour 4-5 or 5-6? That would make me love you even more!?!?

Y’ALL!!! We went to Shuckers for the first time tonight. The food, drinks, and service were all amazing! We had raw oysters, the Oysters Orleans, the Surf and Turf, and Nacho Mama’s Nachos. Everything was delicious! Drinks are VERY generously poured, and our server made us feel like family 💕. We are officially regulars!

First time visit and was very impressed. My Daughter and I will be regulars for now on. The crab cakes were great and both of the entrees were equally as good. The blackened Grouper and fried shrimp were back to back homeruns. Great service that couldn't be beat was just another reason to keep going back.

Love this restaurant. Great food, great service and you can tell because they are always busy. As busy as they get their service is still great and food comes out pretty quick. They are consistent when it comes to food, they are always good.

This place is quaint and reminds me of places in the Florida Keys with the best damn grouper sandwiches in all of Georgia!! And upon my 1st visit, l met the owner Richard, who is very charismatic and super cool. I found myself talking with him, like we were old friends, for what felt like hours. He gave our 1st experience the satisfaction to try coming back to this wonderful establishment. However, the service upon our next 3 consecutive visits was just ok. And l only gave that rating due to the lack of attention to detail (from the bartender-dont kno her name), who failed to get our order correct during the next 3 out of 4 times (total) we experienced (the 1st time, Richard - the owner happened to be there), and we chose to patron this little family owned gem in Carrolton, GA.

Get the baked oysters. Otherwise, this place is okay seafood for where it is. But here is the thing. The oyster dishes are awesome. These are the reason to go. Don't bother with the shrimp, crab, crawfish. Just get a couple of the baked oyster dishes. The sides are all good.

Service was excellent. Note that it's a plastic-ware-on-the-table kind of place. But that actually adds to the atmosphere.

Really nice small town restaurant. Great staff. Easy going atmosphere. Nice food. Just chilled all round. Really recommended. Gumbo good, blackened shrimp and steak was ace. 45 bucks with a wine and tip.

Shuckers is one of those places I wish I could copy and paste closer to my hometown! Every time we go there it reminds me of the beach. The food is good the service is great and the prices are reasonable. If you have a taste for seafood and you find yourself in the West Georgia area, stop in and get a taste of the Redneck Rivera for yourself! 😉

Our waitress Ashley was awesome, always checked on us made sure we didn't want for nothing and the food was great. We had the baked oystes, raw oysters,the fried oysters basket and for appetizer, we had the gator bites. The shuckerita was awesome and the blueberry lemonade was good. I also took a slice of key lime pie home...well it didn't quite make it all the way home, lol. Now I don't have to wait til I visit Florida to get my oyster fix. Can't wait to go back

Cool spot. I got the fried shrimp and my wife got the fried shrimp and fried oysters. We both agreed that the shrimp had a good batter and she loved the oysters (she has mentioned them for the last two days after we visited.) The cajon red potatoes were a great accompaniment to the seafood and I could have just sat there and ate the corn on the cob all night long (great seasoning.) Serving staff was very accommodating. The chairs are weird if I had to dig something out to complain about. Forget that last comment, just go and have yourself a solid dining experience.

Awesome experience. Food was delicious the atmosphere was very relaxing. Excellent service, this was my 1st time ,we will be back. I had the shuckers oysters with cheese Crab and jalapenos, my wife had shrimp and cheese grits.

NEVER A LET DOWN! ALWAYS SATISFYING AND FULL! If you are looking for a quick bite, or a easy punch, or a full on dinner you have plenty to choose from! You can't make a bad decision on whatever you decide to order. Plenty of choices and very decent prices to match! Great job overall to the entire S. O. H. FAMILY!

Ohhh Emm Gee!! I would not have expected this quality food just from appearances!! Don't get me wrong, entrance was clean and inviting, the atmosphere was relaxed, and the staff was wonderful! But the food... I love some good raw oysters, and the gator tater is incredible!! I didn't have anything I didn't enjoy!

The shrimp and grits??? ABSOLUTELY DELIGHTFUL!!! I've never had shrimp and grits before and it was heaven. Also their crab cakes were awesome!!!! Drinks were on point and the greatest atmosphere and live band. Richard (the owner) was very nice and makes you feel right at home, greeting every customer at their tables and making sure they are comfortable and ok. Great Southern Hospitality!!!

I love Sage! She was an amazing waitress. She helped out with all the issues we had with the order and fixed it with a replacement and she also offered if we needed a refund. Fast order, appetizer, alcoholic drinks, to go boxes and the check very quickly. Very sweet and nice personality.
